I'm glad to hear it worked out. It can get a bit confusing with two things both called compatibility mode...

ps. compatibility mode can also be enabled by right clicking rs2client.exe usually found in file path:
C:\ProgramData\Jagex\launcher\

Due to age of my PC there were no driver updates available, so I couldn't do what people are suggesting here.

I resolved the issue by doing a re-install of the latest available drivers for my system, perhaps the same would work for other people.

It's been fixed for some now. Try turning Normal mode back on. :) Life is like a camera: Just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot!

I still can't get into the game. Compatibility mode lets me get into lobby, but when I try to click to get ingame, one of three things happens:
1. The launcher just crashes.
2. It throws me back to login screen.
3. It loads up the game interface (chat box, inventory tabs, etc.), but not the game view or minimap, and the interface is unresponsive.

Yes I've waited for #3 to resolve itself - if I wait long enough that I should end up in lobby for inactivity, then #1 or #2 happens.

Yes I've waited in lobby for long enough for it to load anything it might want to think to load and verify cache and all that, no difference.

Laptop with integrated Intel graphics card, no update for drivers available.

Can someone tell me how to do it? I know very little of how to safely meddle with the system itself.
