This seems like one of the more easily resolved problems mentioned in the recent Lore Q&A stream.

One option is to simply abandon the expected escalation of quest difficulty. Why not have a Master quest follow a Grandmaster if that's what the story calls for?

Another is to organize story beats into chapters that copy the Missing, Presumed Death ==> Sliske's Endgame structure, with an introductory Novice quest and a climactic Grandmaster.

There are probably other solutions, but those are two that come to mind. First seems the most straightforward, but feel free to share your thoughts.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

Even if you do that, the restrictions on player utilization of the content caused by the ever growing requirements limits makes for an even less favorable return on the time invested.

Probably for the best, though I'd appreciate the start of such new questlines being treated like MPD with a note about how it canonically falls after 'X,' so completion of 'X' may help better understand the context of the events that will take place. That, or a TWW's style locking additional reward(s) behind the completion of relevant lore content.

Does anyone else think it's weird how every stream they talk about how most players are high leveled, but then nobody has the req's to play these kinds of quests?

I think Quests like Endgame, TWW, FotG, etc. should have more lucrative rewards (TWW has good rewards in the form of abilities, so not that so much). If the rewards were better for milestone quests, I think more people would play them, especially those quests that assist in PVM.

Edit: I also don't think that it helps that they make basically mass produce these quests as quickly as possible, rather than telling the smaller stories in between. Like, do we really expect that the Godless haven't been doing anything all this time? Where tf is their base? We haven't even met half of their leaders. Not to mention RoP

The simple solution would be to just get rid of skill requirements for quests and only have quest requirements. But Jagex will never do that.

I missed the stream but that sounds like they have the skill reqs but not the quest reqs because 'amg muh effishunsee!@#!$!@#!' or something like that.

Either way, I'd rather see them get rid of quest difficulty categories at this rate. I honestly can't see why they bother sorting quests into categories when you can just look at the skill reqs and extra warnings or whatever to determine if you could do it or not.

I guess I'm not quite as torn on this as other players.

There are several questions to ask yourself:

- could the quest be done with any schlub off the street? (ie: Cook's Assistant, Earnest the Chicken)

- Is the quest more of an "introduction" than high end boss battles, epic puzzles, etc?
example: Missing Presumed Death.
Not exactly a Grand Master level quest considering it takes places right after the events of The World Wakes. The mechanics and puzzles aren't really above that of any other Novice quest.

- Could the quest be a stand alone story?
While the quest might be "6th Age" or "post Sliske's endgame" ... is there room for it to be agnostic about where it sits in chronological order ... or even be able to ignore the events of the larger quest lines

I know this is splitting hairs.

I could see some lore-based Elder God quest where we go a step beyond Heart of Stone but not by much. Or something on "fetch me this memory thingy from the frozen tundra so I can learn more about the Elder God [name]".
But neither of them require some epic boss battle or massive puzzle solving.
The quest just really really really digging into the story background (the kinda thing that if you space bar thru it, it would still take 20 minutes)

Not to mention how many quests are miscatagorized.
