In an attempt to seem relevant sate my curiousity, I sat down to figure out which towns and cities in Gielinor are the best for getting that roleplay buzz. I sent a survey around, to get some idea of what people on 42 look for in a city. About time I give the results of that survey, yeah?
People view a variety of houses as a generally important thing, with no negatives, and an even split between "Very Important" and "Important."
A good castle is somewhat good. It won't break a location, but it's a nice bonus to have.
Shops and stalls are a good asset! Roughly 1/5 respondants thought it was vital, and half found it to be a nice touch.
The same applies to Rich and Slims districts, though slums were valued as slightly more important.
Racial and Religious diversity didn't seem to matter to most respondants, ranking highest on neutral barring a few outliers.
Lore factions are a nice touch, but not required.
Above and beyond though, the most important thing to roleplayers in a roleplay location is a great bar, and plenty of roleplayers about.
So what does this translate into? Check out the next ten cities to see the best, with this data, for roleplaying in. neat
