Interesting theory, there. And yes, if they wanted to end the storyline involving the Stone of Jas as we know it, they'd have to do something drastic to it.
I can see Sliske wanting to shake things up and not wanting history to repeat itself. That would give him a motive to shatter the Stone of Jas. Sliske is basically the one who does crazy things and then watches and sees how everyone reacts to it.

Well, it didn't quite happen the exact way you pictured it, but yes, it looks like something that's played a huge role in the Gods and Mahjarrat storyline is now out of the picture. We'll have to wait and see how this affects them, and the dragonkin who are supposedly now free of their enslavement to it.
