First and foremost, FIRST!!!

I started my inferno grind when first bp nerf was announced. I didn't even play but I spent about 3 months and about 100 attempts to get it.

It really sucked but now I feel a sense of relief that I rushed getting the cape before you guys made the game a little harder. My small brain would not be able to handle that...


Also, can you please do something to Saradomin's Light...? It is completely useless

for 20 years without fail. every single time pvp has been ignored or removed the games player base dropped dramatically and did not heal itself until pvp was returned.


there is litterally statistics that will prove this.


Stop ignoring pvp. it's killing the game

I am done, honestly. Rebalance all you want, just fix the pvp.

Why is pvp failing?
1. People rather get an advantage by teaming up.
2. When it comes to 1v1 people use 3rd party scripts and bots.
3. Lack of new players, which always pushes the skill base higher
and higher. And is very demotivating for new players.

What can be done?
Bounty hunter crators. Anyone remember those?
I didn't think it would come to this but I really want them back but
with an update. Jagex is always talking about pushing the pvp towards
e sports. And what makes e sports so unique? Well there's 2 things
1. Skill/Luck
2. Strategies, unexpected outcomes turns and twists.

How can we get this in osrs today?

LMS was a good start but it clearly fails on many parts, why?
Well when it comes to skill, it is very high skill based.
Protect prayers switches, 5-6 way item switches, constantly eating,
low chance of luck (only when it comes to special attack off prayer).
It is very difficult for an avarage player too keep up. Zero to none
strategy involved.

What can be done?

I personally think protect prayers should be removed, its something the
new players have hard time to adjust to. And usually is abused by players
with 3rd party software.

Let's look at top competitive games, there's nothing wrong with
getting ideas from BR games or CS.

Usually you are allowed up to 2 weapons. Close range and long range.
Same concept could be applied to runescape.
Close range - Melee
Long range - Range/Mage

You are allowed tactical and lethal granades.

Same concept could be applied to runecape.
Tactical - Freezes/Binds, Healing spells
Lethal - Fire spells, Vengeance

When it comes to tactics in OSRS, there's not much that can be done.
But turning mini map off, hiding player names and other diversities can add
adversity to the game play.

I wish you guys could distance from this hectic trybriding style and
rather go for something a little easier and beginner friendly.

I would love to see a minigame similar to LMS with some minor changes.

1. Everyone starts naked or low tier arm.
2. Maybe implying a 5 minute gather prep, 5 minute safe prep after that ffa pvp.
3. Only 1 combat style weapon per player, max 2.
4. Different boosts can be purchased for points/cash in minigame
4.1 Sprinting/energy boosts
4.2 Teleporting boosts (10 squares?)
4.3 HP restore boosts
4.4 Special attack boosts
4.X You get the idea, just use your imagination.
5. Add hiding spots where players could hide visibly (bushes, portals, rooms)
So that they can restore hp, take a quick break after a battle. Or just hide if they feel
that they need to gather a little more stuff before the battle.
6. This minigame could be multiplayer to enjoy with your friends. Trios or Quads
7. Weapon tier progresses during the minigame (kills, points)

I could go on, but i think you get the idea. Will this fix pvp?
Maybe not, but it will surely give us an alternative to enjoy.
Can pvp be fixed (wilderness) i honesly doubt that personally.
I know this is a huge task, but we all witnessed what an outstanding job you guys done
when it comes to leagues, why can't the same passion be used for pvp?

I've stopped playing this game a couple months ago because I really miss pvp and there
no alternatives around i enjoy. I've been playing since 05 and I promise I would come back
thats why I'm constantly checking for updates but I kinda stopped hoping at this point.

I'm glad you are going about rebalancing problem gear.

The warhammer reblancing, sounds like you may have overlooked 1 attack high str pures. The dragon warhammer is a vast improvement over the tzhaar-ket-om (obby maul). It is +10 attack bonus, and 1 attack speed faster. It also doesn't require an obsidian necklace.

I like the fact you are thinking outside the box for this, but you do need to consider, "How will players potentially abuse these changes?" when looking at changes such as these.

Also, melee weapons aren't the only items missing diversity, and you actually missed a few categories for melee weapons. Furthermore, I'd like to point out that there is a few different ways weapons can be seen as useful: overall DPS, burst damage (max hit), special attack DPS, special attack burst damage (max hit), special attack utility (dragon battle axe, harpoon, axe, pickaxe, spear as examples).

I'll point out how the below fall into these categories currently.

Daggers
- Special Attack DPS
Canes
- Bad - essentially maces, just highlighting so not overlooked
Maces
- Bad
Hastas
- stab DPS
Short-Swords
- stab DPS
Long-Swords
- Bad
Scimitars
- slash DPS
Warhammers
- Bad
Battleaxes
- Bad
Claws
- Special Attack DPS
Spears
- Special Attack Utility
Halberds
- Utility of attacking 1 extra square away
2h Swords
- Burst damage

So with all that being said, there is room for crush DPS weapons, Burst damage weapons of various styles, etc. There's not really a need to completely change how weapons are wielded as suggested with warhammers, when there's already a lot of gaps to fill. I'm not completely against the warhammer change, but do compare it to its existing maul counterpart.

Mage armour
is the next thing that needs rebalancing in my opinion. How many times have you seen a melee user spec out a mage, when the mage should be better according to the combat triangle.

Mage robes completely lack melee defensive bonuses for almost all variations. There's a few robes with melee defensive capabilities, but not nearly as many as there should be (there could be tank mage robe versions created).

Also, mage robes have huge gaps in tiering. That needs to be addressed.

Longbows
and
composite bows
are completely outclassed by shortbows. Add some ranged strength bonus to them so they have a higher max hit, and they will become useful for burst damage uses.

Magic Weapons
have no offensive special attacks (except the orbed staffs, which don't even need spells to use the special!)

Maybe make some specials for battlestaffs and mystic staffs that have some benefits on the next spell with the same affinity (normal spellbook, example fire wave). Some potential examples below (there could be two different versions depending on battle or mystic).

Water
- more accuracy (maybe it never splashes)
Earth
- slowing effect - toggles target's run off
Fire
- minor DoT effect if hit connects (hits 1 for next 3 game tics or something)
Air
- casts a game tic faster

These specials should mainly be for the normal spellbook in my opinion, as the ancient spellbook already sees plenty of PvP usage, and is mainly used for hybriding in PvP as well.

At some point adjustments could be added to barbarian mixes. Each should have a unique trait instead of just healing a small amount of hp.

Crystal armor could be made to adjust it's stats and appearance depending on which weapon is equipped. Not just an attack bonus but a complete morph making it more useful and popular.
Example: Equipping a sword gives the armor the appearance and stats of "x" tier melee armor but switching to a bow would change the appearance and stats to "x" tier ranged armor. Staff- mage... etc

Dihn's Bulwark could use some overall revamping. In excess of the nerf. Maybe have a less used or unpopular melee weapon that completely negates the bulwark. The nerf's should apply to wilderness and PvP worlds on the bulwark and there should be some non wilderness buffs or specials.
Example: the eye on the bulwark maybe has a special that allows you to see or tele to the next shooting star or something.

Nerfing combat abilities on popular weapons could come with some form of non combat buff.
