Jagex strives to provide an inclusive and friendly environment where guests and staff alike can enjoy, at all times, our shared passion for all things RuneScape. To help make RuneFest as brilliant as we all want it to be, we ask that everyone respects our event rules.
Some of the rules below cover attendee’s behaviour both at and outside of the event – please make sure you understand the rules and what could happen if they are broken.

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all sponsors, staff, speakers, attendees, media, exhibitors and any other participant.

What is considered appropriate or inappropriate behaviour is at Jagex’s sole discretion, and any decision taken by the Jagex team will be final.

DRUG & ALCOHOL ABUSE

Our Policy

Illegal substances will not be tolerated at RuneFest. If you are caught buying, using or dealing illegal drugs while at the event, steps will be taken against offenders. If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and are in any way interfering with other attendees and their ability to enjoy RuneFest, we reserve the right to escort you from the premises.

What are ‘illegal substances’?

We mean any drug which is not legally obtained as defined by UK law. As well as controlled substances, this applies to any prescribed medication that has not been legally obtained; any prescribed medication not being used in its intended dosage or for its intended purpose; any over-the-counter medication being used at a dosage level other than the recommended manufacturer levels.

What happens if the rule is broken?

Any violation will have one or more of the following steps taken: Onsite security and police will be notified in accordance with UK law, tickets will be revoked, offenders will be removed from the premises, and a ban on attending future shows will be given.

We want guests to drink responsibly so anyone found consuming alcohol outside of regulated areas will be asked to leave the premises immediately.

Anyone whose alcohol consumption is found to be negatively impacting the enjoyment of the show for others will be asked to leave immediately, and a ban from future Jagex events may be given.

THEFT

Our Policy

Theft will not be tolerated at RuneFest. If you are caught stealing directly from another individual or taking items from any private or public areas of the event that are not expressly indicated to be free, remediation steps will be taken.

Definitions

Theft: Any crime in which a person intentionally or fraudulently takes personal property of another entity without permission or consent and with the intent to convert it to the taker’s use, including potential sale.

Property: Includes any money or items owned by an entity. Property shall be regarded as belonging to any person or entity having in it any proprietary right or interest.

What happens if this rule is broken?

All instances of theft while on the RuneFest premises will result in one or more of the following: Onsite security and police will be contacted with the intent of prosecution in accordance with UK law, and you would receive a ban from future Jagex shows.

VIOLENCE

Our Policy

Violence and aggressive behaviour is not tolerated at RuneFest. Jagex believes that every person is entitled a healthy and safe experience, and we will take every action possible to achieve this. Violence or threats of violence against anyone at RuneFest is simply not OK, and there will be consequences for breaking this rule.

What do we mean by ‘violence’?

Any act of aggression, physical assault or threatening behaviour that occurs against a person or property that is involved with the event, either in person or prior to the event through other forms of communication, including but not limited to:
- Social Media
- In-game communications
- Email, Discord servers

What happens if this rule is broken?

If any guest feels that they have been a victim of violence or if Jagex staff or security witness something, the incident will be documented. Although a form will be filled out for all incidents, it is optional (albeit encouraged) for the complainant to go on record with their report.

Anyone who engages in violent behaviour will be removed from the event immediately, have their ticket revoked, and be given a permanent ban to future Jagex events. Onsite security and police will be notified.

HARASSMENT

Our Policy

Any form of harassment, whether that’s based on gender identity/expression, race, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, or religion, will not be tolerated at Jagex events. If you are caught or reported to have harassed anyone at the event, you will go through our reporting process and face remediation steps.

What does ‘harassment' mean?

Harassment: Verbal, physical, psychological abuse.

Sexual Harassment: The following actions are considered inappropriate and may be considered sexual harassment.
- Teasing, jokes, innuendo, photos/images, gestures of a sexual/unwanted nature.
- Touching or grabbing of a sexual nature.
- Repeatedly standing too close to or brushing up against a person.
- Giving gifts of a sexual/unwanted nature

Physical Harassment: Physical contact in an unwanted way toward another individual.

Psychological Harassment: Unwarranted hostile behaviour, threats, or intimidation made toward another individual in person or via other communications methods such as phone or social media.

What happens if this rule is broken?

If any guest feels that they have been a victim of harassment or if Jagex staff or security witness something, the incident will be documented. Although a form will be filled out for all incidents, it is optional (albeit encouraged) for the complainant to go on record with their report.

Anyone who engages in harassment will be removed from the event immediately, have their ticket revoked, and be given a permanent ban to future Jagex events.

PRIVACY

Our Policy

Not only do we want to protect you, we want to protect your stuff too. Intrusion or disturbance are not cool, and we want guests to know their personal belongings will not be altered, restricted or disturbed, and action will be taken if this rule is broken.

Filming and photography is acceptable at Jagex events. However, if someone asks you not to film or photograph them, you must respect their wishes.

What does ‘privacy’ and ‘personal belongings’ mean?

Privacy: When someone is free from intrusion and disturbance in any element of their life they consider to be private – usually relating to someone’s way of life, state of mind or their personal belongings.

Personal Belongings: Includes any items brought to the show by any attendee.

What happens if this rule is broken?

Anyone who is deemed to have violated the privacy of someone else at the show will be reprimanded and may have their ticket removed, depending upon the severity of the claim.
