Making Skill Capes Non-Member

Skill Capes (Or at least Skill Capes for Non-Member skills) should be Non-Member Items. After all the work put to reach lvl 99, it should be only normal that people could wear their cape with pride even once they're not member anymore. Most skills are almost impossible to get to lvl 99 in F2P, which means players would still have to become member most of the time to get at lvl 99.

1- The first option would be to keep it so only members can buy the capes (because some skill capes require to go to places where non-members can't get to), but once they have it, they could still wear it in F2P.

2- The second option would be to actually have the NPCs that sells the capes inside of the F2P world, so players could by them in F2P too. (If some NPCs can't be moved because of quests or something, the capes could be bought from another NPC too).

The stats on the cape are quite high for f2p.

I don't think it matters how hard it is to get the cape on either f2p or members.
No matter what your membership status is you poured time and effort into the game to get to 99 and you should be allowed the final reward for it. Even if that reward is simply cosmetic (lose the perks and armour bonuses on f2p worlds if that is the problem) it's a symbol of your dedication.

A pure f2p-er would have put in a LOT more time and effort than the average member to get to level 99 with their lack of access to bonus xp and higher tier resources so, honestly, appear to have EARNED the right to wear the cape MORE than the members.

In history I think the lock was to encourage higher level players to become members and pay back the team for the game they put the effort into but for many people getting a cape is not the only reason to become a member anymore. If this is still a reason, pay for what you got, don't leech either IN-game or THE game then I support being able to buy capes members only then wear the f2p. Then the people who honestly can't afford to buy a long membership can use that ingame money they got grinding to buy a bond and get their capes and Jagex WILL get their pay for the game, just from someone else.

I just think it seems petty to deny f2p capes from f2pers, especially since they are so few now and many are simply expired members - only get summer specials for example.

A previous comment mentioned how it is possible to get 99 f2p. Indeed it is. Why on earth would this bolster the argument against allowing people to get the capes? It's mostly irrelevant but if anything should be an argument in support!

Either way, I support this.

They'd have an issue of some skillcapes sellers being in member areas. Think a few of them are out of reach.

I have no issues with them wearing them in f2p since they have to go through a lot of work to earn them.

Top issues with this are the high stats on the capes and the location of cape sellers being in members-only areas. Both are easily solved:

- Warpriest scaling. Depending on the world membership type, the cape's stat will scale accordingly, providing lower stats for F2P. Members also would no longer need to move to members-only world if they wish to swap their capes.

- There are already NPCs only viewable for members. Do the reverse for F2P and you can have sellers only viewable by F2P.

Uhh, how can things be "f2p only" when buying membership still gives you access to the f2p portion of the game?
