Currently, there are players who just kill people for the lolz, spamming insults and not looting anything because according to them they aren't in it for rewards, just for defenceless people to kill. While people on here are going to say 'Git gud in the wilderness,' 'Or it's a pvp zone' even though it really is a lure for those who have no interest in pking, the thing is, warbands only cater to griefers who like killing sitting ducks while being invulnerable.

Just yesterday, this level 101 griefer spamming 'I'm the number 1 pker of this game.' 'Lol git gud.' 'Learn to pk.' and 'I only do this to show off my pking skills. Not interested in loot or xp lmao.' has been sniping looters without repercussion because clicking on him results in the god almighty stupid dialogue: "Your level difference between you and <name censored> is too great. Please go deeper into the wilderness." However, since warband supplies removes all wilderness restriction only for the warband participant, they become sitting ducks since while only they can retaliate only after getting hit first, they only have 3 inventory spaces for food unless they want to go leet summoning skillz for a bob without protection from anybody who can help.

In my case, I was trying to protect the group I was with, but couldn't attack the griefer even when I have warband supplies in my inventory just because I am 30 levels higher. So to that level 101 pker, dude, you're shit at pvp until you have the guts to loot a camp so you actually end up fighting for once.

Jagex should seriously reconsider the wilderness level system especially for Warbands and any item that removes the wilderness restriction. To offer some ideas of my own, one of the following could be considered:

1. Remove level restrictions entirely. This has been done for red portal to make it truly free for all in multi-way combat zones so clearly Jagex doesn't think this is a ridiculous idea.

2. Have a 'curse system' in place. Anyone who attacks players with warband supplies will also be attackable by anyone else. Anyone who attacks the player who attacked the warband participant will also share the same 'curse effect'. These 'cursed' players will have icons over their heads to warn other potential pkers who don't like being attacked regardless of level restriction. The curse lasts from the point a player engages in a warband up to 10 minutes after the last warband on the last world ends or until players reach the safe zone of the wilderness wall or teleport out of the wilderness entirely, where the curse is instantly lifted. (This excludes temporary safe zones like corp lair or logging out within the wilderness, although when logging out, the curse can get lifted if the log out time exceeds the 10 minute mark after the last warband ends).

3. Everyone gets their stats scaled to a certain level within a wilderness level range and will be able to equip gear within that range. For example. all players are level 50 across all stats in wilderness level 1-10 and can use at most tier 50 gear for those who are sub level 50 pre scaling, and at least tier 50 gear for those who are post level 50 pre scaling. From 10 - 20. it'll be level 60 scaling and so forth. (This idea I copy pasted from Guild Wars 2)

Thank you for reading.

I wholeheartedly agree with your suggestion and think that this thread would be better placed in the Existing Game Content forum as that is where the developers look for this sort of thing.

Why don't you pop on over to the Forum Help thread to ask a friendly FMod to move it for you?
Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?

lol its wilderness

warbands is easy and op as it is now, u want to remove the only thing that doesnt make it 100% ridiculous?

Great rewards aren't an excuse to make it a one sided fight.

Straight from the wilderness warbands quick guide on the wiki

"this is a dangerous activity and PKers will often attempt to kill you"

And straight from the self same wiki, no mention of how you can't fight back those attacking you when outside level restrictions if you have warband supplies. Also, you say it's a dangerous activity? Of course it is dangerous, why else should it be in wild? But it should be dangerous for BOTH warband participant and pkers pking warband participants and not participants only.

This is spot on:

I think the wilderness is free for all and if you enter, you're at your own risk. However, I also agree that the lvl 101 you mentioned is a wanna be PvPer bitch.

Wilderness is free for all and players enter at own risk regardless of rewards. War bands, being in the wilderness, makes it no exception and this I can concur.

The way to fix is the moment he attacks someone, all level restrictions on him are removed and your clanmates / Fc mate can gang the tofu out of him :)

And this is exactly the point I'm making: Those who attack war band participants should not be exempt from the rules imposed on war band participants and is the point I made in suggestion number 2. What's dangerous or risky to one player in the wilderness should be the same as any other player participating in anything related to the same content.
