So with the latest designer diary pretty much confirming the raising of the level cap on summoning and construction to 120 in the future what would the combat level be with 120 summoning? Is there a way to calculate this?
Ooh, that is an interesting point. It's been 138 for so long, barring the temporary change to 200 when EOC first arrived. Each summoning level is 1/8th of a combat level. The RSWiki has more detail: https://runescape.wiki/w/Combat_level.
I guess it would be brought up to 140. I wonder if they would change how it affects combat level as part of the rework."I don't know what's going on, but I think Rabid Jack is behind it."
Blacknailssaid: Are they seriously planning on raising summoning to 120 without reworking/overhauling the skill first?
Funny how they stated in the designer dairy that they intend to stop stacking things on top of a non-optimal base, yet they are still doing that
If the Survey is any indication, they're looking at revamping Summoning too (though who knows what'll happen if that didn't go over well). Presumably, it would happen all at once; "here's the new Summoning, it goes to 120, have fun".
Which, to be honest, might be the best way to go for upgrading skills to 120. A lot of skills need a lot more meat on their bones to justify going up to 120, so if they're going to fill those out, or if they're going to overhaul the entire skill, might as well go the whole hog.
Mining/Smithing made sense to hold off, though, given we'd probably be looking at Level 100+ gear that we wouldn't be able to use yet. I wonder if Combat and Mining/Smithing will get the full 120 treatment all at once if that proposed Ranged/Magic gear rework goes through, too. Imagine... Melee, Ranged, Magic, Mining, Smithing, Woodcutting, Fletching, Crafting, and Runecrafting all getting done in one fell swoop.
Too ambitious? Probably, but a man can dream, can't he?
You can be sure that Summoning & Construction will go 120 eventually, but I think that Crafting & Fletching are up first (My other thread) Would love to see all skills have real, packed content at 90+ though! An Ideology of Staking and Bossing allows me to charge a King's Ransom for the products I produce by Skilling.
