Social Media made it not any easier. Social Media is a total wild fire in terms of feedback where it is is made totally impossible to control it into a 'common sense' platform. That effect of Social Media bounces back on The RSOF making Forum Help & Forum Moderation Review to be floaded with superfluous reports and it still continues up to this day.
To future volunteers I would wanna forward some advice:
- please, take into account that you can't defend Jagex's stance at any time even if you both agree whole heartly as it can be a temporary parallel maybe Jagex changing over time into the oppostie direction. Just defend a case if you are certain you can defend it on personal grounds, just like the Code of Conduct as it is a written document
- don't take it too personal, posts in Forum Moderation Review. You'll never be certain why Jagex agrees or disagrees with moderation. It is easy for Jagex to know but since we players still are unaware of all variables that tigh a matter together, we can only view / become aware of Jagex's stance at that time when JMods do answer in Forum Moderation Review
- only advice players to post in Forum Moderation Review if you are certain that you can't solve that issue at any given time.
Mexksaid: ... If the real problem at hand is how Jagex handles the Forum Moderator Review thread -- that is, the frequency at which it is checked, the actual replies, and subsequent correspondence -- then perhaps what we really should discuss is how to improve that?To be frank, it is impossible to discuss, as Jagex aren't playing their cards an obvious way. As long as you are unaware how Jagex likes to proceed from here there isn't much to improve.
