Jagex really should put the letters RS3 in front of the word general for the RS3 part of the forums, it would be more clear then that this is the RS3 general forums section and not the OSRS general section of the forums that way. Hi.

Clearer yes, though not that it won't stop them much. You'd be surprised how some of the OSRS posters just go on landing on very distinct sections of the forums for what they want.

No need to change any name. The official name of what players (usually the ones in the forums and social media) called RS3 is actually Runescape. Add a guidance sticky on top of the Runescape General forum will do.

Whenever people mention Runescape, they mean RS3. At least almost every player on Reddit, FB, Twitch, Twiiter know Runescape means "RS3". They never need any hand-holding to redirect them to 2007scape or OSRS, or OldSchoolRunescape. Why? Perhaps they are just smarter than the users in these RSOF. :D

I don't think I need a crystal ball to tell if "Runescape General Forum" was changed to "RS3 General Forum" some OSRS newbies would still come there to post but then they would say "They've mistaken RS3 to OSRS since they used to know the difference between Runescape and OSRS but not RS3 and OSRS". ;)

No matter what they do, people will still post in the wrong area.

We regularly see suggestions in FGU, and account help posts in General. The correct sub-forums are well signposted and yet people still get it wrong.

Pretty much.

If the current "help" isnt useful enough, what good would even more do?...

If people pay attention to the forum section title and see it says RS3, there is a better chance they will look for the correct OSRS forum to post and maybe not post in the wrong forum section. Hi.
