I was always a quester, ever since I began. The story was interesting at the time, however they were basically second to minigames. After ROTM came out I started reading on the wiki and HUGE new part of the RS lore became known to me. I spent hours each day reading article after article on quests I thought I would never be able to do and stories I thought I wouldn't be able to experience. Brassica X Marimbo OTP

At some point I just became interested... and then I just read a great many wiki articles (and did the quests much later, they all had high skill reqs)

recently it's mostly from the lore forum

I... didn't?

I always cared about the lore and storyline of the game, which is the case with any game I play. I lucked the Future Update forums and even other websites back in the day. There was quite a lot of speculation going around pre-While Guthix Sleeps, and a lot of it was pretty accurate.
You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

No.

No.

Why not? That was how I first became interested in lore. IIRC I had started not too long ago (probably was about level 30) and heard some high-level ex-members (By high level, I mean high level to me at the time, so like level 90 or 100) talking about something called a "Zaros". I didn't know what that was, so I looked it up in the wiki, and thus began reading about all the lore: Gods, Mahjarrat, etc. It would be many years before I did the relevant members' quests; by then it was well into the 6th age and I was a bona fide member of the lore community, despite being significantly lower levelled, which I still am to this day. ;)

same

and they're joking, ofcourse it counts, it's just not the most 'honourable' way, like watching the movie before the book :P

No, it doesn't count because it's really quite inaccurate. It's a bit better these days, thanks to the painstaking efforts of some genuine lorehounds in their ranks, but they have a long history of filling in the (many) gaps in the lore with their own conjectures and headcanons, and presenting these as fact. They have even been known to make assertions that are either illogical or *directly contradict* actual lore - Some of these existing and not being corrected for years on end. (Yes, even relatively recently) "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' I remember there was the thing about Azzanadra singlehandedly destroying the Thammaron's army after he was defeated by the golems (don't know why I said 'the' Thammaron, it makes him sound like the king of all demons... the pharaoh, the Thammaron...)

It being innacurate doesn't mean it doesn't count though. That's like asking who someone's first kiss was and then saying that kindergarten doesn't count... it's the answer to the question, ofourse it counts
