Why is Armadyl too weak to take back the Empyrean Citadel? Sliske is not even a god, while Armadyl is a tier 4 god. The citadel was a very important Armadylean location, and now Armadyl lets Sliske run whatever games he wants up there. Why does Armadyl not attempt to retake the Empyrean Citadel?

Sliske has the catalyst and the siphon. That's why, he's also become very fond the citadel so he's not likely to just hand it back without a fight.

Armadyl doesn't *know* that Sliske isn't a god, though. I think that ambiguity is what Sliske is counting on. I like to imagine that the gods can sense divine power, but having them all together in MPD like Sliske arranged made them unsure if what they were sensing was coming from Sliske or from each other.

If they knew for sure Sliske wasn't a god, he would be dead by now. Heck, he'd be dead *during MPD*. That's also where the "keeping Death hostage" thing comes in. The gods would be taking a gamble by trying to smite him then and there.

Attempt to have Sliske suffer a lethal heart attack while he's grandstanding. If he's bluffing about being a god, then you win. But if he isn't bluffing, he survives and has a second spare to off Death... "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' Having the staff of Armadyl and the stone of Jas does not make you invincible. Especially seeing as Sliske is NOT a god.

Because Armadyl is a key player in Sliske's gaming. Killing the host means there's no way for Armadyl to take the Stone of Jas if he wins. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Guthix told us himself he could have stopped Sliske. He simply chose to let himself be killed. Again, I think this all hinges on Sliske keeping it uncertain whether or not he has ascended to godhood. Armadyl doesn't seem to be the type to question things. He just took Sliske's claim of godhood at face value and decided to play Sliske's game and kill Bandos almost immediately after. You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

He killed bandos, not as part of the game (which he never wanted to play) because bandos was a threat to gielinor, especially so now that he (bandos) wanted to play sliske's game

zamorak killed zaros, a chap the gods are still scared of today, with those weapons, so no god would try running in there and smiting sliske. Except zamorak, perhaps

I think that being alive for far too long combined with very few people being a threat to them has made all the gods a bit cowardly to an extent, very much self preserving. You also see them all teleport when the dragonkin is released... when even one of those gods could kill it without serious risk of harm Carn
