Earlier today, the thread of this same name was locked, so I decided to recreate it.
Reason being that it seems some people (no naming and shaming on this one) apparently aren't aware that threads created years ago and that may not have had posts for some time.. can still be relevant. This can be especially true in the lore forums, whenever new information on an old subject is released either by a Jagex employee or in-game. This seems evidenced by the fact that there were just as many responses to that thread after it was brought back to the first page as there would be on average to a thread in the lore forums.
Back to the matter at hand. During Fate of the Gods (or after, if you decided not to ask him all the questions you could) Zaros says, when asked about Bandos, that
So the question that still has some relevance is indeed: Who is Guthix's successor? One could say the answer is obviously the Godless, or obviously the World Guardian. The issue here is the Godless are only agreeing with Guthix on the issue of having no gods. Aside from that, they have no concept of Balance, peace, unity, or understanding of nature like Guthix himself did. As for the World Guardian, not every player is actively following up on the task Guthix gave them, to rid the world of gods.
So the question still remains unanswered. Who is Guthix's successor? Who, if anybody, most appreciates the notions of Balance, peace, unity, nature, etc?
My honest thought is that at some point down the line, the World Guardian will have no choice but to act as Guthix intended. What are your thoughts on this on-going, long-standing topic? A

in themselves.
Only then can they
Control
themselves and forge their own Fate.
