The RSC Mahjarrat Trio (or quintiple, whatever) have a bunch of weird early lore that has since been retconned (as in, the dialogue has been changed). The most consistent thing between them is that they all died at some point.

Lucien (and Zamorak and Azzanadra) are the oldest of the Mahjarrat, and Temple of Ikov hasn't really changed that much from when it was first created. The biggest changes are to some of the Guardian of Armadyl's dialogue, and Lucien's "death" at the end of the quest. Originally, at the end of the "evil side" of the quest, you actually killed Lucien, but he survived somehow. In the current version, he just teleports away after you attack him. The original Guardian of Armadyl dialogue on the Mahjarrat referenced them "still having presence in this world in their liche forms".

Original message details are unavailable.
They are ancient and powerful beings! They are very evil! It is said that they once dominated this plane of existence. Zamorak was supposedly of their blood. They are far fewer in number now. Some still have presence in this world in their liche forms. Mahjarrat such as Lucien and Azzanadra would become very powerful if they came into possession of the Staff of Armadyl.

All of these old references were changed with the release of Ritual of the Mahjarrat in 2011, although post-quest dialogue with Lucien still references the old version of the quest, where you "killed" him. Lucien's reference to a daughter can also be seen as remnant of the early version of the quest, but that was actually made into a thing later on.
You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

General Khazard was originally not a Mahjarrat, but rather a human warlord who died 200 years ago and was resurrected. Bouncer was also referenced as being his only friend. Additionally, he kidnapped the Servils because Lady Servil declined his hand in marriage. The first time Khazard was implied to be a Mahjarrat was in The General's Shadow in 2007 (which is also the first reference to the Ritual of Rejuvenation), and he was finally confirmed to be one with the Fight Arena rework in 2009. He also originally died at the end of the quest (if you killed him, anyway). Most of the references to him being killed were changed to "beat" with ROTM in 2011, although dialogue with the Local outside the Fight Arena still references his death, and him being "already dead".

Hazeel has always been a Mahjarrat, or was at least made one much earlier than Khazard (pre-RS2). Nevertheless, there's still some weirdness. The original version of Hazeel Cult was much darker, and referenced Hazeel and his family being tortured and then killed in the Carnillean's raid.
Original message details are unavailable.
Hazeel was one of the mahjarrat followers of zamorak
The carnilleans harrassed hazeel and his family for decades
Then one night they stormed hazeel's home
One by one they tortured and then butchered him and his family

The references to his family were removed some time prior to 2007, and the references to his death were changed into going into a state of torpor in like 2011 or later.
