With this year's Halloween event taking place in the Dimension of DIsaster, let's take some time to record the new lore about their world that this event provides.

Black Knights control Falador
Trolls control Burthorpe and Taverly
Guthix was able to drain the gods of their divine energies before banishing them (kinda makes you wonder why he didn't do that in our reality).

Oh yeah, and, if the construct is anything to go by, Bandos was apparently grey beneath all that armor.

Also, Dorgesh-Kaan is no more. It was destroyed recently enough that there were enough intact goblin inventions to reverse engineer several electric appliances. But still. DESTROYED BY THE WRATH OF BANDOS
ZANIK
. Sure, Bandos was likely greatly weakened by Guthix, but it seems that his chosen commander still rose.

ZANIK'S ALIVE!

Zanik is very likely an important player on the world stage as the Avatar of Bandos, yet she is missing from all the speculation I have seen in this thread so far.

As your resident fairy minder, allow me to throw my baseless speculation in the ring. Without the influence of The Adventurer, The Fairy Mafia would have had a much easier time with it's coup. The Fairy Godfather might have needed less help from the orcs, in fact. However, the Resistance would still have overt assistance and leadership from the Tooth Fairy General and covert assistance from Fairy Fixit. After developing and perfecting the tooth beasts in secret, the Resistance made a quick and bloody end to Mafia rule. With power over a vast teleportation network, power to cause blights and famines, and a growing army of toothbeasts, the Zanarians are a very serious threat.

What is the real reason why you can't use teleportation magic in New Varrock? Teleblock is the only thing preventing the Zanarians from gaining a beachhead.

(You can teleport out of the Hallowe'en event into the normal world. Maybe an oversight.)

Al Kharid will have found itself under Menaphite control due to the Emir's death, Prince's capture, and the failed attempt to trade the Kharid Ib. As such, Al Kharid would be subject to Amascut's machinations, making it an uncertain food source at best.

I wouldn't be so confident that Amascut in the Dimension of Disaster AU would be the same Amascut we are familiar with. The whole side quest with the Necrofelinomicon suggests a kinder, gentler Amascut, or at least an Amascut that is not repulsed by cats and who listens to and answers prayers. There is something seriously different about this alternate timeline's Amascut.

Fair enough, considering the Loarnab/Zaros parallel. However, this made me really curious as to why he would create something like that. I can't quite imagine Loarnab visiting the Ilujanka and taking pity on them, eventually leading to Nex' creation.

(Honestly, if this is already known there must've been a lot I've missed in DoD)

-=HeroicSnorro=-

I haven't even done DoD, but I am ok with spoilng myself. Anyhow, relevant Lore to both your and my misunderstanding...
NEX

A twisted fusion of hydra, virius, dragon and mahjarrat. Nex was created at the height of the empire by its unholy ruler and served as champion and general. Becoming stronger with every victory, Nex was undefeated on the battlefield for centuries, even long after the fall of the empire.

She was finally sealed away in the Temple of Lost Ancients during the Third Age.

Thousands of years later, the Temple of Lost Ancients was rediscovered and the forces within resumed their age-old battle, but remained locked in an impasse. The stalemate was broken when the newly appointed chosen commander of Bandos arrived and assumed control of the war god's forces.

Under new leadership the forces of Bandos slowly pushed back their enemies, finally seizing the pieces of the 'Godsword' they fought over, using the reforged weapons to attain final victory.

The Chosen Commander, overconfident in victory, then discovered and opened the ancient prison beneath the temple, and was immediately slain by the released Nex. Nex's whereabouts, and what of the Godsword, are currently unknown.

So yep, the Chosen Commander did rise but it wasn't necessarily Zanik, the Bandosians might still have the actual Godsword, and DoD Nex isn't our Nex. Nex could have been created for completely different reasons and the Dark Imperator might have never known the Ilujanka existed.

This brings up an interesting question, though. How did the Virii get to Gielinor? Are there other demons hanging about in the alternate timeline?

Wait, how did the mahjarrat make it to Gielinor?
~edit~ Icthlarin and Amascut are still a thing; they could have still had a beef with the Dark Imperator. No duh Penny.

Maybe the reason Amascut is a bit saner in the alternate timeline is because she didn't get upset at the mahjarrat and walk off to encounter Mah. I dunno what that has to do with the World Guardian not existing, though.

What if that means "Amascut has her apes patrolling Al Kharid to guard tombs from robbers (making it hard to get a canopic jar)?"
If you were serious that would be grasping at straws

Until we get a alternate timeline quest/event dealing with the Kharidian desert, we are all grasping at straws when it comes to Amascut. It is utterly silly for us to claim someone else's straw is smellier when we are all pulling from the same haystack.

Hmm... so Amascut's apes patrol Al-Kharid and Enakhra still is angrily camped out in the desert. Gee, Jagex is very insistent on preserving at least some of the status quo. Its very silly, considering there is time travel involved and Zaros and Seren are mostly absent. I wonder what reason they'll come up with for the mahjarrat to betray Icthlarin. Probably boredom.

I imagine they might even come up with a convoluted, half thought out reason for elves sticking around in the alternate timeline. :P

If Jagex is really insistent on preserving the status quo except for "oh, the adventurer never did this," then we get silly minor "Missed anything?" answers like Ana still being a slave in the desert mining camp.

Which is silly. Why would Ana even exist? But then again there are a bunch of other folks that the adventurer never bothered to liberate from that camp in either timeline. What's so special about Ana?

Ah hell, I am complaining about a common trope in alternate timeline fiction. I am being silly.
