It'd be nice to get an update from Jagex about this issue. It should be a priority fix considering all the new Intel-based systems don't have a fallback option (use an old driver). .

Just found this thread. Glad to see the problem isn't something stupid I've done (for a change :P ).

I have a couple additional problems that started at the same time as the Compatibility Mode problem.

1) A number of my sound effects are broken. Some teleport sounds, potion drinking, mining and a variety of others. This may be related to #2.

2) My cache no longer loads cleanly and get broken after a few game sessions. Most noticeable is preloading inventory icons. This grinds slower and slower and eventually hangs. Deleting the cache buys peace for a few game sessions. Reinstalling the entire client doesn't improve the results.

Hopefully the promised fix does the job.

Fix is completed and on the way in the next NXT update

Thanks for that. Is there any schedule or ETA for when NXT updates are released?

This is a performance issue related to having to run it in compatibility mode. Once we're able to run it back in normal mode, it should fix itself.

There's no schedule for NXT updates, the last one was 2 weeks ago, and the one before that was the 9th of December.

However for the next update, you should expect it on or before Monday, either as a warmfix mid week or alongside the next content update. This should fix the audio issue and the Intel driver issue at the same time. So you're looking at anywhere between the next 12 hours and 5 days.

Edit: Damn I'm late.

I noticed a small update load time when I logged in using Compatibility Mode. All preloads were speedy again but my game was laggy beyond belief.

Just now I switched the client back to Auto (Normal). Nice fast load. Logged into a frozen screen. Game elements were all there but nothing was clickable. Had to "X" the window.

I'll fuss with this a bit and report back.

It's still broken for me.

Re-ran auto setup from the login screen. It picked options that looked about right and the GPU ticked up from 0 (actually being used). Preloads were fast. Lobby looked and worked normal with very low CPU/GPU.

Clicked into W104 Prif and GPU shot to 100%. Had a look at graphic options and they were different - including some I think are too high for the iGPU environment. It also uncapped my FPS. I set it back to 25 (my normal setting to keep the laptop happy) and it settled down to 30ish% CPU, 50ish% GPU. That's close to what I had before.

Teleported to Manor Farm. Looked good until I clicked into the farm area. Ran about halfway to the bank chest and then froze. GPU 0% at that point. Some sort of memory error when I "X"'d the window.
