General Information

Here I will list some basic all encompassing information about Evil Trees

* Evil Trees can be done twice daily

* Evil Trees reset each day at 00:00 game time (UTC)

* Evil Trees spawn approximately 2 hours after the previous one is vanquished

* Growth times are world dependent so it is highly advised to world hop to find your desired tier of Evil Tree

* Urns do not work with Evil Trees

* If an Evil Tree is nearby roots will pop up from the ground and distract your avatar

* Interacting with the Evil Tree in any capacity will count as 1 of your 2 daily (exception noted below)

* The Evil Tree kindling you get after chopping its roots are used to light parts of the Evil Tree on fire for Firemaking experience during the "fight" and can also be used to gain Firemaking experience after it dies and turns into a bonfire

That is my list of General Information hope it helps clarify any questions you might have had :)

Useful Items

There are not many beneficial items to help boost with various aspects of your Evil Tree gains but here are a few

* Tainted Gem

The tainted gem holds 4k charges and provides a +2% boost to xp when worn or when in your inventory

* Pulse Cores

Pulse cores are consumable items you can obtain from various Treasure Hunter promotions or other in game events. On a more recent basis you can get them pretty consistently in the Oddments Store.

* Any of the Sentinel Outfits (oak, willow, maple or nature)

The Sentinel Outfits were available for a very limited time via Treasure Hunter from March 9th-13th 2017.

* Skull Sceptre

The skull sceptre is a staff that you can craft by combining a right skull half (minotaur), left skull half (ankou), bottom of sceptre (flesh crawler), top of sceptre (catablepon). All creatures found in the Stronghold of Security. This sceptre provides an unlimited teleport to Gunnarsgrunn, which is very close to the spawn location of the Evil Tree south of Edgeville Monastery (see below for more details)

* Explorers Ring 4

The explorers ring 4 can be obtained by completing the Lumbridge hard achievment diary as well as its preceding tiers. Useful to access both Draynor spawn locations (see below for more details)

These are the Useful Items ascertainable by the F2P players :)

Locating the Evil Tree

In F2P we simply have one option available to us so here it is

* To prepare yourself the best you can follow these steps

- On your game screen/user interface locate the icon of a compass and click it

- On this window locate the "minigames" tab and click on it

- From here click the drop down box seen on the left hand side and click on "D&D"

- On the "D&D" list locate the appropriate "Evil Tree" tab and click on it

- Now on this tab in the top right corner you will see a star inside of a circle with a + sign right below it. Click that to add the "Evil Tree" tab to your favorites list

- Now just back out to the window with the drop box and instead of having it set on "D&D" now just set it to "favorites" and wallah there is your Evil Tree tab with the spawn timer next to it

I'm sorry if that looks daunting but it is really not hope this helps :)

Possible Spawn Points

In F2P there are 6 possible spawn locations for Evil Trees which I will detail here

* Draynor location #1

The first possible spawn location is in Draynor. It is about 10 to 15 game tiles (steps) northwest of the Draynor lodestone.

* Draynor location #2

The second possible spawn location is also in Draynor as well. It is about 20 game tiles (steps) south of the Draynor bank or 5 game tiles (steps) to the east of the furthest willow tree hugging the shoreline.

* Falador location

The third possible spawn location is just a few game tiles (steps) to the north of the witch's house to the west of Falador outside of the wall

* Edgeville location

The fourth possible spawn location is 5 to 10 game tiles (steps) to the south of the Edgeville monastery

* Varrock location #1

The fifth possible spawn location is just a few game tiles (steps) to the east of Tolna's Rift

* Varrock location #2

The sixth and last possible spawn location is about 30 to 40 game tiles (steps) west of the Jolly Boar Inn outside of Varrock to the northeast corner or just northwest of the north exit gate of Varrock. It is south of the wilderness wall.

Those are the F2P spawn locations for the Evil Trees. I hope this helps. Once you find them a couple times you will have the locations memorized :)

Getting Around

Here in this section I will tell you the routes to take to get to each of the Evil Tree spawn locations

* Path to Draynor location #1

Very simply put, on your minimap click the home teleport button to bring up the lodestone network window. Click the Draynor lodestone and then run slightly northwest

** Alternative route - Use your explorers ring 4 to teleport to the Port Sarim cabbage patch and then run south then east along the road until you see the Draynor lodestone. Then go up slightly northwest

* Path to Draynor location #2

Once again use the lodestone network to teleport to the Draynor lodestone. Run directly south all the way down past the bank and it well be just west beyond that point

** Alternative route - Use your explorers ring 4 to teleport to the Port Sarim cabbage patch and run slightly south and then east along the road. Take a quick dip to your south and go past the pig cage and through Draynor market right down to where the willow trees are and it will be slightly southeast from there.

* Path to Falador location

Using the lodestone network teleport to the Falador lodestone. Run south into the center of Falador and then west past the bank. Keep heading slightly southwest until you reach a small "crumbling wall" and jump over that. Then run straight up north and then slightly west right against the backside of the Witch's house.

* Path to Edgeville location

Using the lodestone network teleport to the Edgeville lodestone and just run southwest until you get right below the entrance to the Edgeville monastery

** Alternative route - Use your skull sceptre to teleport right to the Stronghold of Security entrance in Gunnarsgrunn. Run west out of the village and then north/northwest past the body altar to right below the Edgeville monastery.

Getting Around (continued)

* Path to Varrock location #1

Using the lodestone network teleport to the Varrock lodestone. Run directly east past the elder tree and when you see the road just past the Varrock southeast mine follow it up north until you reach the Varrock east gate. From there run northeast to Tolna's Rift

* Path to Varrock location #2

Either casting the Varrock teleport spell or using the Varrock lodestone, from the Varrock center fountain run east and the turn north at Horvik's smithy. Continue running north all the way outside Varrocks north gate and then run a bit northwest

There are my routes to the various Evil Tree spawn locations I hope that was a help to you :)

"Fighting the Evil Tree"

In this section I will go over the Evil Tree tiers and their skill requirements as well as the mechanics

* Regular Evil Tree - 1 wc ; 1 fm

* Oak Evil Tree - 15 wc ; 15 fm

* Willow Evil Tree - 30 wc ; 30 fm

* Maple Evil Tree - 45 wc ; 45 fm

* Yew Evil Tree - 60 wc ; 60 fm

Evil Tree mechanics

*** Tip *** Right clicking "inspect" to see the tier of Evil Tree, it's remaining health does N O T count as interacting with it :)

*** Ttip *** At the outset of your account equip a rune hatchet to your toolbelt right away that way your avatar will use the highest tier hatchet available once the skill requirement is met

*** Tip *** For the best possible xp always hunt the highest tier available and never start cutting a Tree under 100% health

Once you have found your desired Evil Tree the mechanics are very very simple. You must first chop the roots of the Evil Tree otherwise they will smack you for a tiny bit of damage and stun you for a few seconds. Once the roots are cut away you can use the kindling you get from them to light fires around the base of the tree for Firemaking experience or hold onto them. Now it is time for you to walk up and start chopping the base of the tree for maximum experience (Woodcutting). Chop the base until more roots appear and just rinse and repeat the process until the tree is dead. As you chop the tree you will gain progress to 100% reward after the tree is dead. After you claim your rewards the tree will turn into a bonfire and if you held onto your kindling you can burn it here as well. You can hold a max of 200 kindling.

*** Tip *** If the trees health is above 50% after 10 minutes lightning will strike it down to 50%. Above 25% health after 20 minutes lightning again will bring it down to 25% and if the tree is still alive after 30 minutes lightning will kill the tree.

Hope this quick synopsis of the mechanics will help you defeat it :)
