Is anyone else having issues with rs launcher not launching. I click on it you can see it is loading for a few seconds then it is stopping. Very frustrating. I have reloaded the game and no improvement. If I am lucky I can go to the site and choose play game and open launcher and it finally works . Other times like now the launcher stops again.

Does it give you an error message, and does it get past the 'loading application resources' screen?

Not much information to go off here, but at the 'loading application resources' screen, the client goes through a series of connections to Jagex's servers, initially a series of HTTP connections then a sustained TCP connection. If it's not progressing past that point, I'm inclined to suspect those connections are failing. Intermittent failure sort of implies this may be a network issue, but in that case I'd usually expect to see an error message about firewalls or somesuch.

The approach used to launch the client shouldn't matter as by the time the client loads up, it's all the same anyway.

Same here I get stuck on "loading application resources" I tried compatibility mode still the same, I updated my drivers, uninstall and reinstall the launcher. If im lucky I get in but the world is constantly loading and when I log out and log back in I get a black screen and when I close the game it gets stuck again to "loading application resources"

Anyone here using 2 monitors that are having the 'loading application' issue?,
one week ago my pc crashed & i had to replace some stuff inside & since i got my new pc up and running i can't get past the 'loading application' screen , only if i loaded up 6-10 clients then it would eventually work .
I have the latest drivers & allready double checked that.

I've done some research & for some reason having 2 screens is causing my issue , when i turn it off & load the client .... instantly works , i don't need to load 6-10 clients anymore

not sure if this is the case by any of you but for me its a temporary fix.

Hi Marteen, just to be sure, are the two monitors pluged into the same GPU, as in, you haven't got one into an NVidia card and the other into an integrated Intel card have you?

It causes big issues with RuneScape, but tbf, it'll cause lag with everything in general, not just RS.

both are plugged in to my GPU , talking about lagg , i do have been getting lagg in the last few months (even with my old pc) , just little lag spikes that the game reacts slow to my clicks for example O_o

The second one sounds like a network connection problem, some areas are renown for it with RS, such as the Australian servers.

But the immediate second monitor thing is unfortunate, because I can't feasibly think of any real problem that would cause it. Infact, "Loading Application Resources" is usually a problem with the network more than anything else, but the fact turning off a monitor instantly fixes it is really weird.

Could you try opening the dev console ingame, with alt + ` (tilde, the weird ¬ button under escape) and running the command deletejs5caches ) , you'll need to be logged in and playing for it to work. When you next reload the game, it'll take a lot longer to load up some assets but this will sort itself out, but it might help with the immediate problem of the dual monitors causing you issues.
