Some recent MTX, such as Yak Track and glass-case TH were very good and loved by much of the community. This, many of us contend, is how MTX should be implemented in this game. This suggestion aims to double down on that philosophy...

===================

Near Barbarian Village, the cave goblins of Dorgesh-Kaan and the dwarves of Keldagrim, armed with their new Invention technologies, have collaborated on a grand project that is an architectural achievement of the day - The Tinker's Tower.

Requirements: None! However, having Level 40 Invention will unlock more rewards. Additionally, more rewards are unlocked for those with a Premier Pass.

~ How to Play:

Each floor possesses a(n) Automaton/Golem Guardian. You begin on the ground floor. The Guardian has two tasks for you to complete - the first takes place in the wider world, which is a task to prove you're up to helping with the second. The second task is helping with some aspect of the tower on that floor. Complete the task on that floor to gain rewards and access to the next floor. After reaching the roof (Level 15), you gain access to the basement dungeons (Levels 16- 30).

Note: All tasks will include only skills that you have the level to perform, and they will scale with your levels.

Examples of 1st task examples on any floor:

Mine 130 ore of Runite or above.

Complete a Slayer task with Duradel/Lapalok or higher as the chosen master.

Harvest 30 produce/herbs from any or a series of crops.

Mix 180 potions of Prayer Potions or higher.

Make 75 pouches of Iron Titan or greater.

Etc.

Examples of 2nd task examples (helping in the tower) on any floor (Note: The Guardian will explain how to do each of these):

Cook 120 Anima Stews and give to the Guardian.

Fish for 55 Angelish in the small pond on this floor and give them to the Guardian.

Craft 105 Turquoise Bracelets to give to the Guardian.

Use your Construction to repair 5 columns along the walls (takes a while for each one).

Thieve 90 Anima Orbs from Automaton/Golem Workers in the room and give them to the Guardian. (The Guardian is of the opposite type (Automaton/Golem) as the Workers and doesn't trust them.)

Etc.

Note: The 2nd tasks done inside the Tinker's Tower require no specific level and give XP according to your level in that skill.

WARNING: Occasionally, you may stumble upon a Boss Room! This room contains a Master Automaton or Master Golem that will fight you. Its combat scales with your combat, so skillers can still do it.

The last room (floor 15 and floor 30) are ALWAYS Boss Rooms.

In total, I suspect Jagex will need to make about 80 1st tasks and 80 2nd tasks to keep the variety from repeating too often. Each floor will give a random 1st and 2nd task. They could largely recycle much of the Yak Track tasks here.

==========================

~ Rewards:

Rewards are given after every floor and progressively get higher for each Level.

The Rewards here are meant to make this a very worthwhile D&D to do each month. The Reward structure is as follows: Every player will gain the primary rewards and 1 roll on the Prizes Drop Table. Players with 40 Invention will gain a 2nd roll on the Prizes Drop Table. Players with a Premier Pass will gain a secondary reward and 3 additional rolls on the Prizes Drop Table.

The Primary Reward will be a solid chunk of XP and bonus XP in relevant skills, and sometimes will include other rewards like Silverhawk Feathers/Down, Magic/Enchanted Notepaper, Slayer VIP Tickets, etc. The Secondary Reward for Premier Pass members will reward more of the same rewards, but in higher quantities, and sometimes include the "other rewards" even if the Primary Reward only gives XP.

The Prizes Drop Table is where cosmetics are earned. For this to be truly worth it, I'd estimate Jagex would need to make 20-40 new cosmetics, including worn items, pets, animations, loot beams, POH additions, titles, etc. The Prizes Drop Table works like this: When rolled on, there is a 74/75 chance of .not rewarding a cosmetic. In the event the 1/75 rolls in the affirmative, a cosmetic is awarded at random, and if that cosmetic is already owned by that player, it rewards a tradeable token for that item instead.

Other Notes:

Each floor gives a maximum of 5 rolls towards the Prizes Drop Table (1 for everyone, 1 for 40+ Invention, 3 for Premier Pass users). This means the entire set of 30 floors gives a total possible maximum of 150 rolls, so on average, a player with max rolls would get ~2 cosmetics in a run through.

For 48 hours each month, a promotion on TH will run entitled Tinker's Madness. During this promotion, most rolls on TH are replaced with Bronze, Silver, and Gold Gears, Coils, and Sprockets. Players can choose to keep their special prize or re-pick. These items can be given to a Guardian in Tinker's Tower to skip tasks. Bronze works up to Level 10, Silver up to Level 20, and Gold on any floor. Gears are good for 1 skip, Coils for 2 skips, and Sprockets for 3 skips.

Bronze/Silver/Gold Gears/Coils/Sprockets can also be purchased from the Head Guardian (on the ground floor) for Bonds. 1 Bond will earn 1 Gold Sprocket, 2 Silver Coils, AND 3 Bronze Gears.

Tinker's Tower resets every month at reset on the 1st of the month. Any progress made will start over then.

Tinker's Tower D&D could actually be made F2P also, while rewarding less XP in F2P, giving only the 1 Prizes Drop Table roll each floor.

This D&D is meant to provide an ongoing, repeatable type of skilling tasks similar to Yak Track while making the structure something that could be done constantly, not just seasonally.

TL;DR: This is a permanent addition to the game that is a monthly D&D that takes many elements from Yak Track and makes it permanent. Many of the activities from Yak Track could be recycled here. Ultimately, it is MTX-based content that allows Premier members to gain more rewards and Bonds/TH to speed up the process. However, the entirety of the content is still available without any MTX purchases. sTReTCh1028
