It would be so great if Runescape switched to an Nft game
that means for all of us playing to earn and the best game in the crypto world.
Millions of people would be playing runescape more broadly, so loads of new users.

Dragons that man kills, for example, drops Nft's of course that would be great

Please Runescape read up on Nft gams and you will understand

I don't want rotting fungus tokens in rs3. They're trying to combat RWT, not encourage it. I doubt NFT support ever gets added but it's a possibility if bots end up overtaking real users. Who knows. No support.

No support. NFTs are a growing cancer on this industry. It's something that needs cutting out, not given more room to grow.

Not only that, but several countries are in the process of passing legislation to ban NFTs altogether. Adding NFTs would mean RuneScape would get banned in those countries (as well as losing their spot on Steam, for that matter, as they've recently announced a ban to NFTs as well). The cost would greatly outweigh any benefits they could expect to earn from appealing to the crypto community.

Have you read the RuneScape rules? All of them? Did you understand what they said?

If you answered "yes" to all three questions, then you know Jagex would not allow this and you would know the reasons why.

Have you read the EULA? All of it? Did you understand the part that says (paraphrasing) Jagex owns everything in the game. Here's a quote from the EULA. You can read the entire article under "Intellectual Property Rights":

3.1 You acknowledge, accept and agree that all title, ownership rights and intellectual property rights in and to the Software and all copies thereof (including without limitation any titles, computer code, themes,
objects, characters
, storylines, catch phrases, locations, concepts, artwork, landscape designs, animations, sounds, musical compositions, recordings and audio-visual effects)
anywhere in the world belong to us and/or our third-party licensors.

Have you done your homework on NFTs? Do you know what they are in the gaming industry? Do you know how they are connected to Real World Trading (RWT)?

If you answered "yes" to these questions, then you know Jagex would never approve of them and the reasons why. (That is, if you have read all of the RuneScape rules, word by word).

Sometimes I'm amazed how many players come on to the forum and ask that Jagex breaks it's own rules. I would venture to say that most of them haven't read the first word of the rules nor the EULA.

Exactly.

Hence why ppl really need to start thinking before asking for things.

Also makes me wonder about how safe other games really are if they allow this.

Just in fairness to the OP, they are asking for the game to change. And yes that would imply in this case a change to the rules/TOS.

Assuming that because the OP didn't mention changing the rules/TOS specifically to accommodate the suggestion is a bit pedantic and silly.

Nonetheless I agree with the overall stance expressed by everyone else. I don't want NFT in Runescape.

Hey
i haven't read anything there i only see possibilities, jadex 5 mall would have so much work if they switch to nft. But the rules also say that it is impossible, a shame
