Welcome
I wish to thank the random players I've talked to since Construction was launched as your insights over the years helped me to create this thread.
This is a LONG idea...

The first 30 posts of this thread is the 'summary' of this idea. That takes up 3 pages. The next 10 posts are for Commonly Asked Questions. The final pages is the discussion. Before posting, I ask that you read the first page in its entirety as your comment / question / suggestion may already be there. Posts of encouragement / support are always welcomed as they help keep this thread towards the top, so more people can view it.
The Purpose - The overall purpose of this thread is equip Jagex with a list of features that we players would like see added to Construction (Specifically for our Player Owned Houses (POH)) in Runescape (RS3 not RSC) and to expand the skill from 99 to 120. The hopes are that these suggestions will not 'break' the game.
Please keep in mind in places where I suggest supplies needed to make something or a 'cost' behind it. Those are simply numbers I made up. In no way shape or form am I demanding that they must be set at those Lvls. They could be higher, lower, or completely different. I just wanted something to service as a placeholder so we can discuss it as players and moderators.

I wish to thank the Major Contributors to this idea:

As Runescape has added more room types, they have gracefully expanded the total number of rooms we can have inside our POHs. As part of this 'upgrade' I'm suggesting the same. I suggest we keep the current room maximums as is, but add on to it:

So, what new "features" can we expect with these new rooms?

Special Beer Mug

Can only be obtained from Maxed Shelves in a Master Kitchen. Unlike regular Beer Mugs from lower Lvl Shelves, players can remove them from the POH (Limits based on "Beer Tap" used to fill the Beer Mug.

Crystal Tea Cups and Gold Trimmed Crystal Tea Cups

Let's expand Tea's +3 Construction to +4 and +5...

Elder Planks

Can only be obtained from the new Master Workshop. Players can convert Elder Logs into Elder Planks. Elder Planks act just like Protean Planks, but at Lvl 100, they give 50% more XP then Mahogany Planks when used instead of Mahogany Planks.

Remote Teleport Nexus

Can only be made in your new Master Garden. Details are included in that section.

Fruit Box

A Fruit Box is a box made with Construction and Smithing that allows you to hold any fruit you want inside it (Like an Ore Box). And like an ore box, there are multiple Lvls.

Portable Larder

Materials Needed =
Mahogany Plank x 8, Bolt of Cloth x 2, Blood Rune x 20, Water Rune x 50

Quest Needed =
Recipe for Disaster

Lvls Needed =
77 Construction, 94 Magic Lvl

Bronze Fruit Box

Materials Needed =
Portable Larder, 2 × Bronze bar

Max Quantity =
20 Total

Iron Fruit Box

Materials Needed =
Bronze Fruit Box, 2 × Iron bar

Max Quantity =
30 Total

Steel Fruit Box

Materials Needed =
Iron Fruit Box, 2 × Steel bar

Part of this 'suggestion' is an update to the current rooms.

Portal Chamber

Adding a new top portal called a "Magic Portal" at 95 Construction, the materials needed would be: 3 Magic Stones. It would like a 'magic' ring that floats in the air and freely spins clockwise. Other then that it acts like the other Portals already in game, once a portal is directed at it, the inside of the circle fills up like the other portals.
In addition to a new upgraded portal, 2 new locations to be added, taking the number of destinations from 7 to 9. Said Locations are:
Location -
Trollheim
; Magic Lvl -
93
; Quest Requirement -
My Arm's Big Adventure
; Rune Cost -
300 Blood, 300 Law

Location -
Ape Atoll
; Magic Lvl -
64
; Quest Requirement -
King Awowogei subquest in Recipe for Disaster
; Rune Cost -
200 Blood, 200 Law, 100 Bananas

And how can you fit 100 bananas in your inventory (not noted)? By using a fruit box of course.

Kitchen

The first fix/change is to breakup the 3 hotspots used by "Shelves" so instead of getting 3 copies of the same thing you get 3 updated shelves. Jagex can decide which shelf goes where. Anyone that already has a shelf in place will keep what they have. If they remove them, they will have to use the new shelves.

Brown Kettle + Brown Teapot + Clay Cup = Regular Tea (+1 Construction)
White Kettle + White Teapot + Porcelain Cup = Better Tea (+2 Construction)
Gold Trimmed White Kettle + Gold Trimmed White Teapot + Gold Trimmed Porcelain Cup = Good Tea (+3 Construction)
Crystal Kettle + Crystal Teapot + Crystal Tea Cups = Superior Tea (+4 Construction)

Brown Fish Pot and White Fish Pot can be used with any Fish to prep Fish. (Example - Using a Brown Fish Pot with a Raw Shark = Raw Shark / Brown Fish Pot, and a White Fish Pot = Raw Shark / White Fish Pot). Brown pots reduces to chances you will burn your fish. White pots also reduce the chances of burning your fish and increase the chance of making an extra serving of said fish (This improves with higher Lvl ranges and improves if player is wearing a Modified Sous Chef's Toque, Cooking Cape, and/or Cooking Master Cape)
Serving Tray is a Tray that acts like a small bank, where you can add various food to it. You can then place it on the center of a Table in your Dining Room and players can take from the Tray.

Adding a new Larder called a "Mahogany Larder" at 63 Construction, the materials needed would be: Mahogany Plank x8, Bolt of Cloth x2. It would provide tea leaves, milk, eggs, flour, potatoes, garlic, onions, cabbages, tomatoes, cooking apples, bananas, cheese, cream, butter and chocolate bars. You can also "magically" access raw food from your bank.
As part of a Fix/Retooling. Fix it so the Range and Sink operate like their equivalents in the "regular" RS world. That includes being able to left/right click them like normal Ranges and Sinks. To make the higher Lvl versions better then the basic versions the higher Lvl version take less time then the basic versions, so filling up buckets and cooking take less time if you have "Maxed" your Kitchen Appliances.
Each range now has similar perk to the Portable Range, in which you can make an extra serving of what you are cooking. (This improves with higher Lvl ranges and improves if player is wearing a Modified Sous Chef's Toque, Cooking Cape, and/or Cooking Master Cape)

Bedroom

If every piece of furniture in a Bedroom is the highest Lvl. Then when a player uses the wardrobe, they can customize their appearance (Including any beard, haircut or piece of clothing available to them)

Skill Hall

When building a Skill Hall Room, the player can choose to swap the Fishing Trophy and the RuneFest case.
A revamp to the Smithing Armour Stand from the current Mithril (30 Smithing), Adamant (40 Smithing), and Rune (50 Smithing) to include Orikalkum (60 Smithing), Necronium (70 Smithing), Bane (80 Smithing), Elder Rune (90 Smithing) with each requiring 2 Mahogany Planks, 1 Maxed Full Helmet, 1 Maxed Platebody, and 1 Maxed Platelegs.

A new space directly behind the stairs for a "Universal Armour Stand" requiring 2 planks (Oak (28 Construction), Teak (48 Construction) or Mahogany (68 Construction)) which players would be able to use as a "mini bank" to store any eligible piece of armour and remove them. Anything stored inside is what is displayed.
Adding a new tier for the Rune Case, a "Rune Case 3" requiring 41 Construction, 90 Runecrafting as well as Completion of the Mourning's End Part II, Legacy of Seergaze, and 'Phite Club quests and requiring Teak Plank x 2, Molten Glass x 2, Law Rune, Death Rune, Blood Rune, and Soul Rune.
A new Spot to be created called a "Special Jewellery Box Space", by default is placed in the only corner that doesn't have anything now. (If you are looking directly at the 2 suits of iron, its to your left). Players can choose to swap its location with the Head Trophy Spot.
(Note - If both swap options are used, the 3 boxes would all be aligned along the back wall)
There would be 4 tiers of Jewellery boxes, the lower 2 are 'upgradeable'. Each Jewellery Box allows you to teleport (unlimited use) to the destinations of the jewellery inside the box.

Quest Hall

Fix / Upgrade:
The Cape of Legends allows you to teleport like you were wearing it.
A new Tier be added called a "Max Cape", which allows you to show off your Max Cape, Amulet of Glory, and Cape of Legends. Graphic wise the Max Cape is secured like the Cape of Legends is now. Directly below it, sits a folded Cape of Legends with the Amulet of Glory resting ontop of it. This trophy allows you to teleport to the Legends Guild (Like you would get from using the Cape of Legends Trophy) and the Amulet of Glory (Like you would get from using the Amulet of Glory Trophy). Thus allowing you to get both the Amulet and Legends cape with one spot. A perk for Maxed Players.

Study

As part of a Fix/Revamp. All current telescopes now show the exact time remaining for shooting stars to land (since the information is available in the D&D tracker anyway). Higher Lvlled telescope are more accurate with the landing locations instead. (Oak would continue to list the General Vicinity, Teak would list one of three possible locations (or fewer if the general vicinty has fewer than 3 spots), Mahogany would list the exact location.)
An optional additional tier would be a Magic Telescope at 96 Construction, the materials needed would be a Magic Stone and Molten Glass. In addition to listing the exact time and location, it would show how large it is and what Mining Lvl will be needed to start working on it once it lands.

Costume Room

Expand the Treasure Chest and Rework the current Treasure Chests. (Current Treasure Chests would be 'grandfathered' in, so items stored inside are not lost, and can be upgraded.)
Treasure Chest (30 Construction) with 2 Planks would hold any Lvl 1 Treasure Trail Reward
Oak Treasure Chest (48 Construction) would be an Upgraded Treasure Chest, where you use 2 Oak Planks on any Treasure Chest. It would then be expanded to include any Lvl 2 Treasure Trail Reward
Teak Treasure Chest (66 Construction) would be an Upgraded Oak Treasure Chest, where you use 2 Teak Planks on any Oak Treasure Chest. It would then be expanded to include any Lvl 3 Treasure Trail Reward
Mahogany Treasure Chest (84 Construction) would be an Upgraded Teak Treasure Chest, where you use 2 Mahogany Planks on any Teak Treasure Chest. It would then be expanded to include any Lvl 4 Treasure Trail Reward
Magic Treasure Chest (102 Construction) would be an Upgraded Mahogany Treasure Chest, where you use 2 Magic Stones on any Mahogany Treasure Chest. It would then be expanded to include any Lvl 5 Treasure Trail Reward

All Rooms

Players gain the option to reorient existing rooms by adding a button on the House Settings screen called "Move Rooms", this brings up a "House Viewer" like used in OSRS, and just like in OSRS, players can move, rotate, and delete any room in their POH for free.

Part of this 'suggestion' is a series of "Fixes" to the current POH Rooms/Items.
-Remove the delay from using the sink. Allow players to activate the tap with a right-click option to play the animation instead.
-Change larder and shelves to Make-X interfaces to streamline the process of receiving multiple cooking ingredients.

Now let's move on to the new rooms, and the stuff that can be built to go in there. First an overview of the different spaces in each room, then a detailed look.

Master Rooms
Put simply a Master Room is an upgraded room. You can either 'upgrade' the room it's based on to a "Master Room" or build a new "Master Room". (Example - You can upgrade a Bedroom to a Master Bedroom) You are limited to one "Master Room" of each type. (Ex. 1 Master Bedroom and 1 Master Garden). If you try to build a second one, you will be prompted to move the current one (Like Costume Rooms).
The "purpose" behind the Master Rooms is to add higher Lvl features, but only in the "Master" version.

Master Garden
Upgraded Formal Garden/Garden. Based loosely on the "Superior Garden" in OSRS.

When you choose Loadstone it will give you the option to quick-teleport to any Loadstone that you have unlocked. After leaving your house, you gain the ability to go to your house from any POH Portal (As though your house was at that location). As you use the other portals, they are added to a list of locations you can go to when exiting your house. (Ex. Your House is in Taverley. You upgrade your Exit Portal. At that point you can exit back to Taverley. You then go to Rimmington and use the POH portal there. Upon arriving at your POH you find that you can now leave via your new exit and if you right-click there's an option to choose from a list of POH portals. When you do, you see Taverley and Rimmington.) Any Guests can use your Superior Exit portal and remotely access their Superior Exit portal from their POH, including the option to go from your POH directly to their POH.

Remote Access Space
With the Marble and Gilded Teleport Nexus you can 'use' 10 "Teleport to House" tablets to make 1 "Remote Teleport Nexus" tablet (Stackable). When broken you can use one of the teleports accessible from your Teleport Nexus inside your P.O.H. (If you do not have a Nexus inside your P.O.H. the tablet can not be used)

With the Crystalline Teleport Nexus you can 'use' 5 "Teleport to House" tablets to make 1 "Remote Teleport Nexus" tablet (Stackable). When broken you can use one of the teleports accessible from your Teleport Nexus inside your P.O.H.

Marble Teleport Nexus

Construction Requirement =

Marble Block x 4

Can be used to access the teleport of every other device in your POH

Thank you, Kopaka. I always appreciate useful feedback.

I know I haven't posted a suggestion in awhile. But the last one I did was very specific. That's just my style. It was called EBSS (Enhanced Bank Security System) and eventually became "Bank Pins", (I know, I made that suggestion a long time ago... Since then I've used the ingame 'rename' feature and went from Vertigo Moj to Katsu Ryu) so I do know that sometimes Jagex will consider detailed suggestions. At least they did in the past. As far as legal. That's part of the Terms and Conditions, which allows Jagex to use ideas posted here. At the end of the day, it won't hurt my feelings if Jagex does or doesn't add it. But if we can get the conversation started, then maybe down the road someone at Jagex will say "You know someone came up with some ideas on how to expand P.O.H.s".

If you want I can provide you a list of things I've compiled a while ago focusing on giving existing rooms (more) value - most of them quick, impactful strikes, but also a couple of nice to have features, which wouldn't be absolutely necessary. Partially inspired by the cool things OS had given to the POH, partially entirely new things.

I personally think Jagex needs to give the POH value first to make it a place players would want to visit - especially considering, that they only fixed the process of training construction last year with both contracts, as well as portable workbenches - great construction rewards are not of much use when the process of skilling construction sucks after all.

Now it's time to give this skill some actual value outside of a couple of overworld construction thingies (which also are extremely valuable and definetely should be pursued further - I am missing that stuff entirely in OS for instance). When more players are able to value the POH I am fairly sure Jagex also would be more likely up to go deeper into that thing.

Thank You. I would love any and all suggestions. The more ideas we can add in to this thread, the better the overall idea will be.

Thank you Rikornak for your suggestions.
After looking over the list, there's a few ideas that I like so much, that I'm going to work them in. Some ideas are in the suggestion already (Just done differently). Some ideas I don't agree with.
The next few posts are my "longer reply" as I went over each idea one by one and replied.

Okay - here we go :) Stuff is ordered by room level requirements in ascending order. Scope is 99 levels for now (since construction doesn't make good use of 99 levels as it stands), but with a focus on making levels below 70 relevant as well (in contrary to OS) to ensure players want to progress rather than just enduring their way to the relevant levels.

Thank you, filling in the "Gap" doesn't hurt my feelings. I have a Construction Level of 107, you are level 118, so we both know how "fun" the gap is and getting to 99. So I reviewed your suggestions.

Additional Tier
: Centrepiece

Superior Exit portal - Level 90 - Elder rune bar x10, Magic stone - Allows POH access from any POH portal, as well as leaving the POH to any POH portal via an interface accessed with a right click option. Leaving via the POH UI or using the left click option still will send players to the actual location of the POH. Players need to have advanced portals unlocked by themselves, but are not restricted by the progress of the POH Owner otherwise (i.e. Guests can leave to a POH portal the Owner can't use). Also available in the formal garden.

That's a great idea IMO, allows people ability to access their POH from any of the portals and at Level 90 still pushes people to get higher Construction Levels. I'll add it to the master list at the front.

Fix
: Remove the delay from using the sink. Allow players to activate the tap with a right-click option to play the animation instead.
+
Fix
: Change larder and shelves to Make-X interfaces to streamline the process of receiving multiple cooking ingredients.
+
Fix
: Oak shelves 1 provide a +2 construction boost for tea similiar to the lower levelled wooden shelves 3

Interesting ideas. I've always wondered if the delay was a bug or Jagex "slowing us down" on purpose. I'm going to add a "Fix" section and add them in there.

: Larder

Mahogany Larder - Level 63 - Mahogany Plank x8, Bolt of Cloth x2 - Provides unlimited amounts of tea leaves, milk, eggs, flour, potatoes, garlic, onions, cabbages, tomatoes, cooking apples, bananas, cheese, cream, butter and chocolate bars - basically everything needed for basic recipies.

I already have a Mahogany Larder as part of the suggestion. I like the lower level and the increase to supplies. So I'll add in those aspects to the existing idea.

+ The highest levelled dressers and wardrobes allow you to use any beard, haircut or piece of clothing available in one central location.

That give's me an idea. What if as a "hidden" feature, if every spot in a bedroom is "maxed" then you can do that. Rewards players for "maxing out" their bedroom.

+ Armour Stand

Players can now construct an empty armour stand from 2 Oak (Level 28), Teak (Level 48) or Mahogany (Level 68) Planks. Players can now mount and dismount any eligible piece of armour as they like without having to remove the stand. Existing stands work as oak stands with their respective armours mounted.

I can see this as a possible replacement for the existing smithing armour stand. The current stand works with Smithing, but really needs reworked since the Mining/Smithing rework.
I do like the potential for this stand, so I'm going to add it in, with some tweaks and a reworked Smithing Armour Stand.

Combat Room

NEW
: Combat dummy - 4 Tiers:
Built in increments. Works like the dummies found in places like the combat academy. Higher tiers are intended purely cosmetic for now, but could get additional features added in the future.

Wooden dummy - Level 40 - Plank x3, Nails x 15, Empty Sack, Rope, Bucket of Sand x2
Oak dummy - Level 48 - Wooden dummy, Oak plank x3, Bolt of Cloth x4
Teak dummy - Level 55 - Oak dummy, Teak plank x3, Gold leaf
Mahogany dummy - Level 62 - Teak dummy, Mahogany plank x3, Gold leaf x2

My fear is overloading the Combat Room. To really display a combat dummy would require space that the current Combat Room doesn't afford. But I can see expanding the Combat Dummy option in the Formal Garden.

I'm not sure this is a "Fix" as the Cape of Legends itself doesn't allow for teleports to the Legends Guild. This would be adding a function that the cape doesn't.

Teak: One of three possible locations (or fewer if the general vicinty has fewer than 3 spots)
Mahogany: Exact location

Additional Tier
: Magic - Level 96 - Magic Stone, Molten Glass - Allows players to see the location of crashed, but still active stars in addition

Sounds like a cross between a fix and a re-tooling. Added.

Costume room

Fix
: Overall increase the amount of storable outfits for lower tiers. The intention is to to increase the value of the whole upgrade series (rather than just having the final one have value for most containers, while the remaining sequence is next to useless). Consider increasing the medium and higher tiers further once a significant amount of costumes has been released.

+ Treasure chest

Teak: Hard rewards (Hard for Mahogany was adequate when only three/four tiers of clues existed - not five or potentially even six or seven)

Potential additions:

Beginner -> Oak
Grand Master -> Mahogany (or a new Elder chest)

+ Armour case

Oak: 2->20
Teak: 4->50

+ Magic wardrobe

Oak: 1->3
Carved Oak: 2->5
Teak: 3->7
Carved Teak: 4->9
Mahogancy: 5->12
Gilded: 6->15

+ Fancy dress box

Oak fancy dress box: 2->5
Teak fancy dress box: 4->12

Retooling / Expanding the current setup for the Treasure Chest to readjust isn't that bad of an idea. Added. The rest I don't see the need for.

: Weapon rack - 4 Tiers
Allows players to store and withdraw weapons of significance. Grants access from a bank once built. Tier increases the amount of storeable weapons.

Oak weapon rack - Level 52 - Oak plank x4 - Allows players to store 20 % of the weapons initially available
Teak weapon rack - Level 61 - Oak rack, Teak plank x4 - Allows players to store 50 % of the weapons initially available
Mahogany weapon rack - Level 71 - Teak rack, Mahogany plank x4 - Allows players to store 75 % of the weapons inititally available
Gilded weapon rack - Level 79 - Mahogany rack, Gold leaf x1 - Allows players to store all weapons

Having a Weapon Rack added to the costume room would be counter to the name "Costume" as everything in the room centers on objects you wear, not wield.

Having a "Altar of War" combined with the existing ideas in this thread actually hurts the overall idea. But I can see making some tweaks to what's already here to add something similar.

+
Fix
: Allow players to attune their Portals to any teleport spell they have access to. Locations in the Wilderness can't be scryed.

I'm actually against this idea. The key word of "any" is a powerful word. Selective teleports is another story and I agree we need more then the 7 we have now. It's clearly more than a "fix" as its a overhaul.

Portal Nexus - Level 92 - Magic Stone x2, Marble Block x8, Gold leaf x4 - The Portal Nexus allows players to store every teleport for 100 times the rune costs and allows players to access them freely for teleportation and scrying afterwards. Teleports already added to portals are available within the Nexus and players can re-direct any added teleport for free to their portal frames as quick teleports useable without an interface.

Very powerful update, but appears to work with the "fix" for the portals you mentioned. As I don't agree with the fix, I don't see being able to add this idea in either.

Superior Exit portal - Level 90 - Elder rune bar x10, Magic stone - Works like the regular garden variant

- New plank: Elder - Used in the POH and overworld construction from roughly level 60 and for construction contracts from level 80 onwards. Basic costs: 2500 gold pieces. Elder planks grant 210 xp per plank used. Construction contracts finished entirely with elder planks grant 7 contract credits each. Elder planks can be substituted with protean planks, but furniture is not available as flatpacks to encourage regular POH or contracts training, rather than using a portable workbench with proteans.
- New contract credits reward: Construction supply crate - Contains an assortment of planks, nails, bolts of cloth and limestone bricks. May rarely contain gold leafs. 35 Credits. Add a quick chat option for the amount of crates opened. Supply crates are not intended to cover expenses, but rather allow players to make use of credits after unlocking all features in order to reduce their costs.
- New contract credits reward: Big construction supply crate - Contains an assortment of planks, nails, bolts of cloth and limestone bricks. May rarely contain gold leafs or ultra rarely marble blocks. 175 Credits - has the same amount of reward rolls compared to five regular boxes, but offers the slight chance to receive a marble block. Add a quick chat option for the amount of big crates opened.

The new plank idea as well as constract expansion ideas are interesting, but don't apply to a POH update.

Level range

It was something, that just came by for me, when I levelled up construction in OS lately - there just aren't too many cool features below level 70, while you'd get an overload of them afterwards. RS3 has a slightly better standing at medium levels, but that basically is something, that should be extended more. If that is covered we really could go all out with high levelled stuff - both below and above level 99, but I generally think a skill shouldn't be extended to 120, as long as it doesn't manage to have 99 relevant levels (or at least close to).
And Jagex might agree and decide Construction doesn't need a level cap increase from 99 to 120. I personally like the idea as long as useful featuers are added to "fill the void", but I would also like to see the current options expanded on and/or restructered to help make the grind from 1 to 99 better.

Kitchen fixes

In OS the workshop basically works like the kitchen with chat boxes - making it incredibly cumbersome to use and creating flatpacks entirely worthless as a training method - I do believe it was the original intention back then in 2006, but nowadays it's just another aspect making the POH worse, than it should be. Since RS3 had fixed the workshop I certainly would see it as fair if the very same fixes are applied to the kitchen. If taking 28 supplies out at once would be deemed too overpowered (it certainly isn't) they could add a small delay of one tick between each ingredient.
KATSU RYU said:

I added the fix you mentioned. It's a good one that the instant I read your suggestion, I said "This would make working in the kitchen A WHOLE LOT easier and even make it better. Luckily that was an easy fix, so I was able to add it in without redoing the whole idea.

The sink on the other hand is due to its 'cool' animation the worst to use water source in the game - I am fairly sure there are players out there, who like it and this is why I think they should be able to play the animation with a right click option - but it certainly must never be something causing suffering to everyone else. Of course I personally won't ever make tea again in RS3 - but I certainly did it enough in OS to know, that is sucks.
And the shelf is outright bugged - that's it.
A fix for the sink may be to have it operate like the sinks and even stove is a good idea, and something I didn't think about until I visited my POH a few horus ago. I'm glad to see you mentioned something. So I've added something in.

When building a Skill Hall Room, the player can choose to swap the Fishing Trophy and the RuneFest case.
If you swap the fishing trophy and runefest case, wouldn't the Rune Case and RuneFest cases be side by side, thus on one side of the room?
Rikornak said:
Of course the jewellery boxes could be put in another room (like OS uses its achievement gallery for gold jewellery, but they're not able find a fitting spot for silver), but I personally think it wouldn't hurt to give this room a bit of value outside of being a potential access point to the upper/lower floor. Generally it wouldn't be overloaded, since we have two free corners remaining. But okay - you seem to solve it with another room.
Looking at the Skill Hall Room, I could see adding a box in the last corner (If you are looking at the 2 current statues and the fishing statue is on your left, then the closest left corner to you.) I could also being able to swap said box with the Head Trophy Space, so the 2 existing boxes and new box are aligned. Talking to some players in game today, it appears that setup has some player support. So I plan to add that into the main idea. (Just give me a few days to restructure the plan and add it in)

The inspiration for the freely usable armour stands comes from the league one in OS (https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Mahogany_outfit_stand), which basically allows players to mount and dismount any of their league sets, without having to break down the stand every single time - I could see something like this in RS3 as well - while I currently do not think they should make too much of their mind about new armour sets (again the stuff about impact), it potentially could be used to display two profound sets for instance (if somebody is insane enough for that).

Wouldn't this acomplish what you want, where it's a stand you can store various armours and display what's stored?

Combat room

It's basically the way OS has solved it. Not a significant feature, but also not an useless one - I just feel like it would be fitting more in that room, than this random addition in the garden, they did a couple of years ago.
You can see the layout there: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/images/b/b5/Combat_room_built.png?3dd1e
I've been playing since 2001, but I don't actively play OS, so I'll admit ignorance. When RS went from RS to RS2 and later RS3, I went along for the ride. So I didn't know they had a way to put one there and have players still be able to walk by it. That being said, this allows us to tell Jagex "Do it like you did it for OS", so I've added this to my list of revisions to make. (Just give me a few days to restructure the plan and add it in)

Quest hall

The teleport to the legends cape was added in 2019, alongside a stat buff, in preparation of the comp rework to make cape progression more relevant and is missing ever since in the quest hall - thus a fix. It's also fairly similiar to the mountable myths cape in OS, which also allows you to utilize the teleport to that guild. Otherwise it's really just mount your glory and you're done.
LOL. I haven't used my cape of legends since 2006. I'll admit I didn't know they did that. So that's on me. That does make it a fix. You are correct. So I've added this to my list of revisions to make. (Just give me a few days to restructure the plan and add it in)

Costume room

Again a thing OS has fixed (for most spots - treasure chest and fancy dress still use 2006 values and feel incredibly broken in comparision) - and it's basically one I would like to see fixed in RS3 as well - to give this room relevance before you're able to build the highest levelled variants of those spots. While it's no longer as bad as it was in the past, when the game forced you to empty the storage in order to upgrade it, it certainly still doesn't feel like a meaningful feature for lower levels.
It certainly shouldn't make the higher variants irrelevant, but as I said - I think the progression should feel meaningful - not just reaching the finale.
For me to comment, I need to look at OS vs RS3 and see what OS has changed from 2006. From the sounds of things, there may be some parts of it that can be intergrated into this idea. I'll get back to you on that.

That with the weapon rack is hair splitting - the room is intended to store equipment and weapons also are part of them - besides almost every case already contains something wieldable as well.
A quick glance at OS Costume Room shows no Weapon Rack. For me, it's a hard sale, as the name of the room is "Costume". I could see potentially adding a Weapon Rack on the wall inside the Combat Room to display weapons. But based on your description, I don't think that's what you are aiming for. I'll add that to my "Reconsider List"

Portal chamber

Yet again a thing OS has solved this way. While there are a few exceptions (https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Portal_chamber#Notes - fairly sure ouriana was excluded, since it runecrafting is supposed to suck in there and that teleport available would make it more appealing - but I don't know a good reason for the other ones to be excluded) you basically can add every spell book teleport - and even two things that are not part of a spellbook.

; Rune Cost -
300 Blood, 300 Law

Location -
Ape Atoll
; Magic Level -
64
; Quest Requirement -
King Awowogei subquest in Recipe for Disaster
; Rune Cost -
200 Blood, 200 Law, 100 Bananas

And how can you fit 100 bananas in your inventory (not noted)? By using a fruit box of course. I'd love to see more then 9 locations in RS3 as OS has 30. When I talk to players in-game, I don't hear people say they want this. Why? The "Loadstone Teleports". I will consider expanding this from 2. But only if a few people post supporting expanding this idea.
Per the wiki, Ourania is one of 10 Teleport Spells that can not be made into Portals (OS Version), which I'll admit is better then RS3 which only has Seven. I've added in 2 Locations in the idea. Taking it from 7 to 9. I will reconsider this idea as this is the 2nd time you have pushed for it, so clearly it's important to you.

Generally I've placed fairy ring and spirit tree in this garden, rather than a new one (superior) as in OS, since the other impactful feature (full restoration) has no relevance in RS3 and thus wouldn't have a justification for a new room, which otherwise solely contains cosmetic stuff, when there is some other place to be re-purposed for that - and given more relevance at the same time.

Keep in mind, this thread is for RS3, not OS. I understand that's how you have done it in OS. But that doesn't mean RS3 can't do it differently. I haven't ruled out adding a Spirit Tree or Fairy Ring. Just that they be given special attention by having them in a brand new room type. But I also understand your point. If they can do it in OS, why can't they do it in RS3. To that end, I'm going to 'give in' and add this as a center feature in the Garden areas. I've added this to my list of revisions to make. QoL stuff

Moving and Rotating rooms being free is extremely important to give players a tool of accordingly planning their POH from low levels onwards. Don't forget - we are in this mess because the POH is poor to use, players eventually lost interest and Jagex doesn't bother reworking something almost nobody is using anyway.
All I was trying to do, was "balance" moving/rotating rooms so there is a cost. I can think of two alternate options. 1) The cost is 1/4 the cost to build a new room of that type (Just the cost of the room). 2) There is no cost, but you are limited to how many rooms you can do that. Have it equal the maximum number of rooms you can build.
Rikornak said:
This feature is imho the most impactful change Jagex had done to the OS PoH, since it allows players to mess around in their POH when they start, at a time they certainly are not even close to be able to create certain layouts, without punishing them afterwards by forcing them to pay millions over millions just to amend their mistake of having engaged early (i.e. below whatever the highest levelled room will be) with the POH. And I certainly wouldn't want only to be able to properly start using the POH at level 1xx.
Looking at the tool in OS (https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/images/1/16/House_viewer_interface.png) it looks a million times better then what we have in RS3. I can honestly say I have deleted rooms, and readded them, just to get my house layout how I wanted, and spent a few million GP in the process. I've added this to my list of revisions to make. As for the butlers - it's not that hard to engage with a bank anyway nowadays - unless you got a backwater POH for some reason. Even taverley is just a few steps away - not to speak of prif. I just see it as a nice extra for having gotten the highest levelled butler - also in aspect to not having to bother fumbling around in those cumbersome chat boxes.
Maybe I'm not understanding your idea. Right now if you are at a bank, you can access your costume room via your bank. So I'd assume your butler would be running from your other rooms (Ex. Kitchen) to you at the bank. But why can't you cook up food while inside your house, have your butler run cooked food to your bank and uncert raw food so you can cook them? If remote doesn't mean at your bank and wherever you are standing, I could see that being abused.
Rikornak said:
As for the other stuff - of course - it's thought in a bigger context - the construction skill itself - and one of the main flaws is, that your experience rates basically cap out as soon as you're able to create mahogany tables (or prawnbrokers if you're working in the POH). It just needs some kind of material, that offers experience rates past level 40. But since your thread is just about the POH - that's more than fine to exclude that - unless you of course would want to think about hotspots using elder planks, rather than mahogany that is. Which might be a viable idea - not everything high levelled needs to include stone mason supplies after all.
I might consider "Elder Planks" for use inside the POH as a replacement for Mahogany. Like how you can use Protean Planks. I'll add that to my "Reconsider List". Glad you understand the non POH ideas not being added to this idea. I wouldn't mind seeing them in a separate thread.

KATSU RYU said:
Current Treasure Chests would be 'grandfathered' in, so items stored inside are not lost, and can be upgraded.
That basically punishes existing players - it's never good taking something away they've been able to use for years - such as storing master rewards in the tier 3 chest - if anything that extension would've been needed when elite (or for master latest) clues had been released. Since they've missed out on that chance I at least would've left that option open if they ever would consider introducing grand master clues.
I'll say it again, Current Treasure Chests would be 'grandfathered' in, so items stored inside are not lost, and can be upgraded. This means NOBODY is being punished... Current Treasure Chests would continue to function the same way they do now. This only effects new Treasure Chests or if someone 'upgrades' their current chest. But nobody would have to upgrade their current chests and can still keep using them like they are now. So again, this punishes NOBODY...

OS currently has included beginner clues into the oak chest (which I think is great - albeit they could've introduced a lower levelled spot either - but I guess they don't feel like designing stuff most players wouldn't use either in that game, since it's not too hard to have the oaken one available), but it feels wrong, that teak just has meds, but mahogany three tiers then - that's why it's easily solveable with a 2-2-2 progression - even grandmasters wouldn't feel that off in the mahogany chest, but 2-2-2-1 certainly also would be possible.

Marble Combination Lectern

Construction Requirement =
77

Materials Needed =
Marble block x 2, Magic stone x 2, Gold leaf x 2

Same as Mahogany Combination Lectern, but Tablet Creation is sped up by 2 ticks each.
That's a small misunderstanding from my Marble Lectern. RS3 has introduced a feature a while ago, which allows you to create tablets one tick faster for each tier the lectern is higher - marble just would've continued it from 6 (oak) to 2 ticks (instead of 3 for using mahogany). The marble lectern itself basically is an OS idea again, allowing you to create all tablets without being forced to build two studies - albeit most players likely just will have missed out on being able to make enchantment ones in either game. But hey - two ideas from two different games, which can be moved together.
And I should explain in more detail the Marble Lectern and being faster then the previous lecterns. So I'll add in some details.

Generally regarding the concept of 'master' rooms. I am not sure how you plan them to be solved, but in order to prevent another 'players have to wait for ages until they can plan their POH'-scenario, I would suggest making them to an upgrade to their regular variants - you pay the fee, you'll get the new room layout, but you also get your existing things already built transferred into the new room - I certainly would like them that way.
Of course we could ask if we'd need a higher levelled variant of the room in the first place - it's fairly common, that hotspots in a room can differ by 60 levels or more - it feels a bit weird, that this concept is suddenly abolished in favour of having a basically identical room, that needs to be rebuilt. It's not like the portal chamber -> portal nexus scenario in OS, in which a certainly different room replaces the old variant - maybe master rooms need to be thought more into that direction, rather than just being the same as the lower levelled variant with just the highest levelled options unlocked. Just leaving this to think about it, I certainly could see it to work, but right now it's just a couple of hotspots forcing you to abolish your entire previous creation, couldn't this just be solved in the regular kitchen, study or chapel?
I love that idea. Players can "upgrade" rooms to a "master" variant while keeping everything inside it. Simple and effective. I've added this to my list of revisions to make. (Just give me a few days to restructure the plan and add it in)

Can only be created in the Stove Space in your Master Kitchen in your Player-Owned-Home. If your cooking level is 99+, this range will prevent you from burning any food.
Wanting to leave a bit of feedback on that one: The cooking cape perk already has a never burn effect, allowing level 99 cooks to cook in certainly more conveniently to reach locations without having to build a 2 million stove. It could be fairly useful for ironmen though if it hasn't has the cooking restriction, regular players most likely will use portable cooking stations anyway for the loads of benefits those offer.
My thoughts on this was players with 93 Cooking, using the new features outlined in this idea to drink a Mature Chef's delight, to have effective level 99 while cooking in their POH. Give an incentive for cooking inside their POH and when combined with events like Double XP weekend could allow them to quickly level up. But I could see adding in other perks, like the portable cooking stations have. I've added this to my list of revisions to make. (Just give me a few days to restructure the plan and add it in)

This is the key challenge for any new POH content. POH's have been rendered largely pointless for training by the advent of contracts and portables, both of which provide more viable methods than the endless cycle of build hotspot/remove/repeat/refill. If houses are not used for training any more, they need a different purpose, which at the moment is not clear.
I agree with Rikornak as Prawnbrokers is still the fastest way to gain XP in construction. And it's not just us saying that. Check out https://runescape.wiki/w/Construction_training as they confirm that. Part of adding in more stuff to build in your POH means more XP from making said items. If Jagex adds in part or all of these ideas, they would have to calculate how much XP each generates and that could change how people train.
The Ross said:
I'm not sure if there's a need for separate 'master rooms' for any higher level additions (never understood why we have both normal/formal gardens tbh), but some extra tiers of items in existing rooms would be welcome. Perhaps some new hotspots, which are level-gated so don't become visible until 99, could act as a workaround?
Well, the Normal/Formal Gardens are different types of gardens and each have pros and cons. As far as the 'master rooms', the idea would be not only designating which room is the butler's room, but which is yours. I can see adding in higher tier items or exlusives items to give incentives for using them. Keep in mind, some of that has no gameplay value, just roleplay value. After all, do you sleep in any bedroom in your POH now? Of course not... Not everything in our POHs or RS are there for functionality.

Arguably the biggest benefit of houses as they stand is the storage of outfits, items and treasure trail rewards, and I think there is scope to expand on this and relieve further pressure from players' banks. A couple of suggestions that come to mind:
- A rack for storing/displaying completed slayer helms (creature specific ones, such as the Helm of the Troll or Helm of Blood)
- An armoury (could be a separate room) for storing various special weapons and armour (e.g. TH lucky weapons, quest rewards, PO Ports creations, etc)
- An 'egg box' for storing/displaying random easter egg items found in game (strange red orb, Mod Dolan's rubber duck, the goebie mask, etc), rather than simply destroying them
- A tie-in with Archaeology for collecting and displaying restored artifacts yourself, rather than trading them for chronotes?
I like the idea of a rack for storing/displaying completed slayer helmets. I have 23 of them, and last time I checked, that's all of them (currently). What I worry about is displaying 23 helmets in any room. But I could see a Slayer Helmet Rack that is 'bigger on the inside', that could store all of them, but only one is visible from outside (Player choice). I've added this to my list of revisions to make. (Just give me a few days to restructure the plan and add it in)
An armory takes care of the question of storing various weapons and some armours (As the Costume Room allows us to store several dozen armours now). That will require some time to write something up and format it. But I can see this working. I've added this to my list of revisions to make. (Just give me a few days to restructure the plan and add it in)
An 'egg box' for random easter eggs... I'm not against the idea. I'm just not sure which room to put it in. The only one I can think of is the "Quest Hall"... I have a few ideas that need worked in, so I'll circle back and see if you replied.

Thanks Rikornak for your replies. I'm currently reworking the overarcing idea right now. I was going to publish it when I saw your replies. With the changes I've made, some of your comments are null and void and some were actually easy adjustments to make. Others are changes I'm still working on, to get formatted correctly and balance in.
I did want to give you an update as the new overarc actually pushed past the current number of posts I have for it. This means me "trimming the fat" to make it fit. But I have to be careful as not to remove parts that are needed.
