Ok, how about a link to forum help and maybe some interesting threads to read in this forum section? Ones that aren't stickies I mean.
I was too late with my edit. changed my mind.
EDIT: And I liked how people felt comfortable enough on the last thread to ask forum related questions. Especially the newcomers to the forum. I hope that still happens on this thread. I am sure it will.

Mod Chrissosaid: To everyone else: I've just put a 'No grave bumping' rule in the FSR to stop old threads being recycled without need. It's nice to keep the relevant threads at the top. :]
I have noticed that sometimes newcomers to the forums will post on an old thread. It is always ontopic and I believe it is because they use the search feature to find an associated thread with whatever problem they have. Which is the right thing to do. I did have a look at the first page and understand that this is not the case for the threads that motivated you to add the rule but could that be taken into consideration? Thanks

Windsofnightsaid: Windsofnight reporting in on Loggy C's suggestion on how to find out what page a thread sits on when finding a thread through the search thread feature. The suggestion works! Thank you Loggy C! I would like to nominate Loggy C to create a thread that is a guide that includes such suggestions and maybe one on the in-game interface while he's at it...I would also like to thank Johnny Depp again for his due diligence in posting across the forum to various threads answering questions like the one I had. Cheers!
The guide you are requesting is in the wiki and according to fmods does not need to be duplicated on the forums.
I just had a look at the guide on the wiki and it doesn't seem to have the same information it used to so as Cyanide has made a forum guide click me you could maybe ask him to add that information to it.

It was just that I had made a thread about a year ago now about having tips and information on how to use the forums somewhere on the forums itself, either a stickied thread or a link like the code of conduct is and was told that it was unnecessary as the information was in the wiki. A jmod also posted and said the same thing. We came to a compromise and Accomplishes made a forum guide of which Cyanides is a remake as an fmod locked and unstickied the one Accomplishes made a few months ago.
Well Cyanide does have a few reserves left I noticed and I am sure he won't mind adding a tips section to it. Can't hurt to ask him and suggest some ideas to add to it. Things such as Loggys tip, maybe also that you can go to a particular page in a thread by typing in the number of the page you want in the little box under the title or how to link a single post in the qfc link. (which I don't know how to do, lol) There's probably lots of other tips I can't think of right now.
Lol trolling about me being upset but I did send you a long message explaining what we were talking about.
Just think you should add a section for tips on foruming and explain the little things we can do that are not obvious such as loggys tip and things like how you can go to a certain page in a thread by typing in the number of the page you want in the little box under the title of the thread. Things like that.
Yes, I was going to see exactly what he had in mind before I said anything but it does sound like they are going to lump the whole new players and new forum users together. Didn't want to scare them off though. lol
Edit: Hi there spammer above me.

No it's fine. Coming from you wont scare them off. It was just that the other mod said he was going to bring it up to some others then he must have changed his mind and went to Mod Matthe who is in charge of helping new players. Maybe it's because I was too strong in my post, I dunno. I get over excited I think lol.
[#WPZO4D419]said: I hope Mod Chrisso returns or some other JMod comes over and pass on the suggestions here, so many great ones already. Mod Balance is browsing this forum section and passing suggestions on to the website team. He wrote on my thread that he had passed it on.
King Doctorsaid: welcome forum is no longer a sea for floating boats rather it is like the cove where pirates and smugglers land their wares without fear of interference and over inquisitive ears Yes but at least general is clean from newcomer spam. heh.

DSquirrelGMsaid: So with the closing of the various clan recruitment forums, will there still be a proper place on the forums for these sorts of threads, or will it only be handled in-game now? All clan recruitment threads should be able to fit into the ones that are left open. If you have a thread in one of the archived forums just go to the forum help thread in community home and ask for a move.
Trashsaid: Where is the thread to request to have one of your threads closed? I been lookig all over the foruma nd i cant find the post anymore where yu can report threads Go to the community home forum section and click on the forum help thread. That's the one you are looking for.
Guys, I have just been looking through the account help forum and with Malua being on holidays, it's pretty backed up. can anyone go have a look and help out please?
I am hopeless with account help questions, I have too much trouble finding things in the support centre and I don't really have the time to spend searching for answers so if someone does have the time, can they go have a look?
Thank you so much. I remembered Malua saying she was going on holiday so had a quick look in there thinking I might be able to help a little but was overwhelmed and had no clue as to helping solve their problems. I am not sure I would have given the correct information.
Miss Mistysaid: Sookie Lalasaid: Yeah, they should link that orb thing to the forums somehow so when you take a pic using it you can post it on the forums.
I just think images should be limited, people could say things in game that are offensive or inappropriate and use orbs and scrying pools to then take a picture of it etc.
It seems like a lot of effort and a waste of time since they could just type it, but trolls don't mind wasting time apparently.
I think if images were ever introduced it should be a list of images that Jagex provide of around the game, items, quest help ones, perhaps use fansite ones from premium and Jagex supported sites Have some faith in the community. Other sites allow pictures and such and don't seem to get many inappropriate images.
Many Muchsaid: Forum thread author bump: It says you can bump your own thread once every 10 minutes. But if you bump one thread and then wait exactly 8 minutes then you can bump again! 2 minutes are saved. It works for me. I have found it is even less if you bump a thread that's in another forum section to the one you bumped previously.
Stoat Kingsaid: I'm curious if this is an actual policy change for threads in general, or just a one-off, unfair and completely arbitrary move of a couple of threads just to shut up the odd ******* making a fuss on fmr. My guess is the latter. They couldn't have made it clearer that they neither know nor care what goes on in here.
With regard to the locked threads, it's much easier to understand if you consider the very long tradition of such threads in general. Such threads are commonplace and aimed specifically at general, for the simple reason that it has the most traffic. Which makes this sudden change of heart so bizarre. If this is a new policy, there is literally no place for these threads any more. They rely solely on volume of traffic for their raison d'être. Twillows locked thread 'first thing you do on forums' (now here in w&f) is a perfect example. It simply doesn't make sense in any forum other than high-volume general. Oh the irony should be delicious to me but instead I find it's heart breaking.
