Not sure everything involved in the process. I know the last time there were 30 reports Kari said it took the better part of a day to sort out. So no idea what the investigations entail per report but seems to be far more in depth than I imagined. There's currently over twice that. So in a perfect world that's at least 2 days dedicated to nothing but the FMR reports. We seriously need more curators or a better system... Seeing as we have 4 ready and willing CM's who would love nothing better than manage that system.

Problem is they have the same issue we do which is what is a blessing and a curse currently. Permission to view auto-hidden threads is gold level only.

Okay hey Jagex how about this idea.

How about creating forum micro transactions that allows us to customise our avatars, include really cool badges at the bottom of our avatars.

Revenue generated can pay for maintenance of this website, pay for volunteers’ transport to come into Jagex and use a gold account for community management, or go towards Mod Kari’s overtime for forum moderation review?

Okay I might be entering confidential territory so you don’t have to respond but it might inspire some ideas.

Disappointed that despite being highlighted to Staff several times (according to posts made here by FMods), we still have no actual Jagex responses or feedback on either the ideas or the systemic problems raised here.

I’d like to echo Archaeox sentiments, which I think is representative of how the community is feeling at the moment - that we’re saddened we’re being met with an air of silence. However, I am empathetic that there is a staffing issue and I’m sorry that you guys are in this position, it sounds really difficult.

So maybe, Jagex you can communicate with us - other than staffing, whatre some of the other issues you’re also faced with? Dyou guys have any plans or ideas in how you can address the issue? If you talk to us in whatever capacity that you can, we might be able to come up with some ideas.

Yeah props to her for coming out with an update on where things are going:P
Not sure I agree.
Taking 5 minutes to make post mealy-mouthed, perfunctory platitudes after more than ten weeks seems more than a little contemptuous to me.
On the other hand, its further proof that this thread is trying to address an issue that is all too real.

Okay, I’ll give you points for your alliteration.

But this demonstrates one thing - that Jagex is at the very least listening to us and communicating with us. Again, if it’s Mod Kari who has to handle the entire community management, that’s too massive of a task.

While FMR is important, everything else has to come in balance as well.

We’re here to work with Jagex and not against them. For so long it has felt like it’s been community vs Jagex. But let’s try to shift the mindset to support them to support us better. Maybe then it might not be such a drag to approach the FMR, maybe.

Would starting a betting pool on which day Kari addresses the thread be considered player-run games of chance? :|

Thank you, that made me laugh :D

But I would reiterate that the issue is probably not Kari so much as the evident understaffing which means her workload is not allowing her the necessary time.

It's a systemic rather than individual problem.

That's why I think a systemic change, i.e. a removal and replacement of FMR, is necessary.

Archaeox,

How about this.. if we want to address the issue of both speed AND transparency, why not just allocate some of the workload to the support department, the ones who handles support issues and ban? I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have the problem of obtaining a gold account if they’re already working within the office.

Kari, though, by extension is part of the problem - not that I'm trying to throw her under a bus or anything here, but part of the issue is that there's only 1 person allowed to deal with the reports, and that's asinine.

The longer this goes on, the more obvious it becomes (like it could get any more obvious, really) that Jagex just doesn't care.

Actually, you make a really interesting point.

This is part of being an organisation, and a business.

If you’re not getting paid overtime, DON’T work overtime. Leave on time! This sends a signal to the company that this is an issue that needs to be addressed. If the company keeps letting one individual solo everything, and that individual complies with the demands, it enables the company to continue more of their behaviour.

Something I’ve personally witnessed at work.

Archaeox, could you speak more into this please? So no one can see that a complaint has been lodged, only see the responses by Jagex?

elsewhere), I have read many of them and many of them do have their merits. Unfortunately there are also reasons we can't shift responsibility to Player Support or implement a ticket system (to touch on one such suggestion).

Would you be able to speak more into this, in whatever capacity that you can?

I’m curious. If Jagex has the ability to train local mods to community manage which includes FMR, surely we would also be able to upskill Player Support team in a similar vein?

Now 2 months since the creation of the brand new, totally empty FMR thread...
and still no staff posts there.

I think it's time we stopped ignoring the elephant in the room here.

The issue is that Mod Kari simply isn't interested in doing this aspect of her job. Pretty ironic considering when she deigned to post in this thread she talked about how she has other aspects of her job that she's expected to perform.

I realize that you're going to maintain that it's a "systemic" issue, but the fact of the matter is that the lone JMod in charge of the forums doesn't give a shit. Full stop.

She can spam everyone on Discord with "announcements" several times a week, though. There's no problem there, apparently.

We've posted several possible solutions on this thread, but they've all been handwaved away with a vacuous "we'd like to do this but we can't because issues" BS response, and that's all we've heard.
