Hey There,

I've been inactive for several years, and I was wondering if I log into 2007scape, will I have the ears and scythe I picked up on this character in 2003? I have them on RS3, but when I logged into OSRS, I was on the starting island.

Thanks for any help! Hope to rejoin this community soon :)

I think you will need to do specific holiday events in OSRS to get untradeable holiday event items for that particular holiday. So the earliest you can get a scythe is over 6 months from now.

Tradeable holiday events items like party hats can be "picked up" from the GE immediately when you log into the game. However untradeable holiday event items like the Bunny Ears you mentioned can't be obtained no matter what until the next event comes and you need to be available to do it to get the event items or wait another year.

This is not like we get them right away from Diango in RS3.

You'll be able to get the scythe at the next Halloween event and the bunny ears at the next Easter event

This is correct - All holiday event rewards corresponding to a specific holiday are given out when that holiday's event goes live. You will be able to claim the Scythe (a Halloween reward) by completing this year's Halloween event, along with being able to claim all other Halloween rewards from the past too (you will receive 2 of each tradeable Halloween reward, so 2 H'Ween Mask sets and 2 Pumpkins as well).

Similarly, you will receive the Bunny Ears by completing next year's Easter event, along with all of the previous Easter rewards.

Yep ^, thankfully they made it this way for OSRS. In my opinion, this is the right call for limited time (holiday) events as no one enjoys going without their beloved cosmetics :)

They can make it better by letting players get all untradeable holiday event items from Diango when they finished Tutorial Island, so they don't have to wait maybe 6 months to a year to get their beloved cosmetics.

How is this better? So, if I've been present through every single holiday event throughout the history of RuneScape, how is it fair for a new player to just come in and get all the items that I have participated in without actually having to wait for the holiday event to do it? I agree with the new way that it's being done in OSRS where you'd have to wait for the specific event to be able to retrieve the items that you are missing, but I find it unfair to simply "hand" all of these holiday items to new players and players that haven't even completed the event.

How is it fair for new players just to buy the tradeable holiday event items like phats and Santas from the GE for dirt cheap price or even free from their friends or just some random noobs the first day they play OSRS?
