Went to revs yesterday, it was almost completely dead content apart from a few pkers. I then discovered the delay to teleport when attacking revs and realised in that moment as to how you killed off part of your game.

I decided to raise this in the clan. Turns out its been in for a few months and every single person agreed that you have effectively killed off pvm in the wilderness because of ineptitude in combating bots.

I have to admit I'm a 20 year + rs addict but the game these days is more of a pandering to a few streamers and its a shame to see parts of the game become dead content.

Woohoo, it's about time the new skill discussion came back around.

I'd argue that Old School RuneScape needs multiple new skills, at this point! It's been a decade, and not even one's made it through the ringer. I've even submitted a thorough skill concepts for Foraging-Scavenging and a combative Prayer type skill, but it seems none of my brain's ideas are popular with the community. So, let's see what everyone else has to contribute; I'm certainly hyped for something new and exciting brought into the game, on a grander scale.

... especially if it's combat-related and/or brings one-versus-one PvP back to life!

LMAO the new skill is going to happen because Jagex is going to force it too. I’m not paying for membership just to vote in your stupid polls, you might as well toss away the polling system at this point it’s been ruined and only works in favor of Jagex.

Adding a new skill would be hard without everyone losing their minds. But I feel like the skill could not be combat based in anyway. I feel maybe a mounting type of skill could be beneficial to everyone to save time while maneuvering RuneScape. Then again you would have a group saying no because it might destroy the price of stam and energy potions. So the mounted creature would also have to rely somewhat on stam and energy potions also. I don't know though a new skill is a huge risk to the fundamentals of RuneScape.


Also I really don't feel a new skill is needed. I feel like a change in policy is needed more. The only thing that has kept me playing RuneScape is the fact that you can kill someone and take there stuff. There is not many games like this in the gaming world. Which I feel is what makes RuneScape unique. I feel RuneScape's player base is now in the 20-35s . Its time for Jegax to be a leader in the gaming world. By Allowing and even supporting real world trading. Even creating a market for it. Imagine in doing so you could create an industry or even way of life for a lot of people that could support there Selfs, and their family's while playing a game they love without breaking any rules. I feel like what would be a better game advertisement, then the fact that us gamers could actually have the chance to make money from something we love to do without breaking any rules. People would flock to the game. It would be bigger than we could imagine. OfCourse Bot detection would have to become stronger. Imagine one day getting a rare duplicate from raids, at a point of time when you need money. Then you could just load up rs fourms and sell it to someone for irl money that needs that item. It would be a win win. The way its set up right now is only streamers can make money off the game. At the end of the day that's not right. I feel as long as actual players only were able to sell the items and not Jegax the market wouldn't take a hit. Even Tax it yolo

Honestly it's been a good 10 years now... they can add one skill. One new skill every 10 years is fine. The greater community can handle that. Only a small handful will lose their minds. Not the majority of the playerbase.

I think a traveling type skill would be cool. Like maybe you could have boats that you do voyages on where you land on an instanced island and kill some mobs or do a treasure hunting thing and when you leave the instance you are awarded Xp in the skill dependent on the difficulty of the instance. Like there would be a rare chance to get a Commander Zilyana instance and if you kill her you get a chance at her drop table or something. Would be Ironman friendly and easy to get into. If you can’t complete the instance you are given due to difficulty then you can hop back on your boat and que another instance. If you prefer to only do skilling type voyages than you can accept contracts with a dock master to travel to an island with a specific type of tree to be chopped or ore to be mined, not found anywhere else but that instance. Inventory management would be crucial if you were to min /max the skill as you wouldn’t be sure what you could be killing. You could even come across and island that had a fully grown ranarr weed plant that you could gather quickly and be on your way. Rough draft idea but the skill could be used to get around the map, as you progress in the skill you are given more places to travel to around the map. This skill would be good in my opinion because it would give players a way to have a different experience leveling in skills or combat while also progressing in a skill that can help them travel to certain places quicker. I haven’t been able to find a strong relationship with the skill and end game players wanting to engage in the skill other than to hit 99. However I am not alone, feel free to tear my idea apart and rebuild it in your own way if you like it!

Can Defence accounts also be included? I have a DFS account, but the DFS special attack gives magic exp when used on an NPC for some odd reason, but defence exp when used on a player. Anyways, I have level 2 magic due to an auto retaliate misfire on my DFS spec.

so I am a 20 def pure fully quested def xp in order to gain access to certain areas of the game. if my account is not an “official” account build i won’t be able to lock my def / atk xp? that being said it looks like the small community of us 20 def pures would now have less access to areas than 1 def locked pures. … why not just have the option to lock xp in each combat skill minus hp or somethin along those lines rather than having an official account… idk just my input worried this update ruins the reasons i did the quests i did for my account years ago
