I think it'd be nice to have some elaboration on the 10 backup codes thing, I haven't heard of any other kind of MFA system using anything like that, and it sounds strange to me on two fronts: 1. 10 backups sounds like a lot, but at the same time 2. only ever receiving them once and presumably having no other way to recover if you lose them is daunting. I could be misunderstanding how it works though.

I too could be misunderstanding how it works but isn't it no different to backup codes for other non-runescape MFAs? Like authy apps etc also have backup codes.

I think it's daunting because if it was made more accessible then those codes could get into the wrong hands.

Google and Discord are 2 platforms that use MFA, and they provide backup codes for you to use. It's not a 1 time thing, you can get more if needed...incase they're exhausted or compromised.

Any request for new codes will invalidate the old ones, rendering them completely useless in-case they got compromised somehow.

The only shown once refers to that the option to view or download is given once. Once closed out, you cant pull it up again, and would need to generate a replacement to access the new list to save.
Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?
