Three days ago, I created a second account (this account being my main) and my new account - R e v i l 0 being my new pure. I traded 80m cash over from my main to ‘power through’ the training process.

I have 10 hours play time on the account (which is a magic pure). I trained using normal combat from 0/41 magic, superheat item from 41/49 and then from 49/75 magic I cast enchant ruby dragon bolts (which as we know when you 1 tick click can get extreme do rates).

I traded supplies from other accounts which I play with to get around the GR trade limit, but as far as I am aware, this does not breach any rules.

I have then bought 5 bonds to sell for the extra cash to purchase a volatile orb. Life was good and my account was almost completed.

Today, I have attempted to log onto my pure to find it has been PERMANENTLY BANNED for both - BOT BUSTING MODERATE and MACROING MAJOR.

The only thing I have EVER used is runelite. I have not auto clicked, although I did enchant bolts sometimes for 1 hour at a time.. but I certainly missed tics. I appreciate I gained a large amount of XP in a short amount of time but this surely should not have resulted in a bot ban?
I trained on mobile and computer a mixture.

I have played OSRS for several years and this is extremely upsetting. I have got photograph evidence of each level being gained.

I am unable to appeal these bans and have therefore had to use my main to raise awareness. Not only have I lost money with the bonds I have purchased but I also fear for other people being wrongly banned for doing nothing wrong and being unable to appeal it?!

PLEASE HELP TO SHARE AND RAISE THE PROFILE OF THIS POST.

Any advice about anything I could do would be much appreciated - I do not have access to socials to message mods. 10 hours and 100m lost.

Thanks.

Macroing bans can actually be appealed even though they say they're unappealable.
Carefully read through the questions on this page: Account bans
Appeal a ban > Banned > Yes > Yes > No > Appeal my ban

Jagex is currently experiencing a high volume of requests which may lead to delayed response times.

Before you appeal your account's bans, I suggest you review all of your devices, emails and accounts security to rule out any possible hijacking.

Corder, thank you very much for your quick reply.

I have appealed the ban and I will see what happens. I have played the game for over ten years with several accounts with no bans, mutes or breaches of any rules.

It’s horrible to then find you try to log on to your account to see it’s ‘Permanently banned’ - no appeal.

I appreciate macroing is probably a horrendous issue and there will be thousands of bad accounts banned, but it seems jagex bot busting system is catching innocent people in the crossfire who have genuine explanations but cannot voice their opinions?! Kind of crazy!

Fingers crossed for the appeal I suppose.. although I was unable to write any text?!

Yep, the current appeal system is not designed for users to provide evidence or their side of the story, but merely to nudge Jagex to have them re-check that they applied the ban correctly.

Thread moved to the Account Help forum as this section is a better fit for your thread.

Do note that the response of the appeal (when it arrives) is final - if it isn't the outcome you are hoping for, there aren't additional avenues for appeal and Jagex will not consider additional appeals that are sent in for that account.

Thank you for moving this post to the correct location and for your response.

Fingers crossed that the review process is thorough because it would be tragic to be permanently banned when genuinely doing nothing wrong!

I selected - ‘Macroing’ and ‘I think you have made a mistake’ as the reason due to not using any third party client (other than runelite) and not using any macros and certainly no Notting.

Reading threads online and YouTube it seems a few people have been caught in similar circumstances!

Thanks again

Well, most online games Anti-cheating systems have strong automation when it comes to detections and issuing bans. With this comes a risk of false detections, but this risk is minimal.

I would not worry about what others have experienced. Remember outside of Jagex platforms, players can say whatever they want about their experience with bans and usually you should take this with a grain of salt because chances are it's all made up. It's also impossible for us to look into their accounts and see if they had actually broken the rules or not.

It's a good idea to review your security (if you haven't already) as a temporary ban leading into a permanent ban could indicate someone hijacked and botted your account and didn't stop past the temporary ban!

Corder, thanks again for your reply.

I was enchanting ruby bolts (a very repetitive motion)!and I may be one of the very few who has unfortunately been false detected.

I appreciate that people can say what they want to make themselves look good / innocent. That’s why I wish there was free text when challenging the ban where evidence can be provided.

It’s a shame I wasn’t steaming at the time, there’s been a few streamers falsely banned whilst live. Funnily enough their cases are all captured and the evidence is there, with somebody in my situation it’s almost my word against theirs. Nevermind!

It’s almost like you get banned, have no opportunity to provide any evidence which may negate the claim or you’re unable to give your account, then it’s written asif you cannot appeal it at all. Thankfully I have followed your steps and sent off the appeal.

My fate is in the hands of the reviewing person.

Update received from the appeal today - Mod kamila email states appeal denied and won’t be re-considered. No reasons given.

This appears to be a generic email which is pre-written depending on which reason code you selected for appealing the ban.

‘Evidence’ was stated in the email.. what evidence, I would love to know?

Definitely something suspicious going on.. not done anything wrong and banned within 2 hours of purchasing a volatile orb..

10 plus years playing RuneScape… several high level accounts with no previous bad character, bans or mutes.. time / money wasted. Silenced and unable to challenge this issue further.

To say I am disappointed would be an understatement.. I wonder if anybody else was falsely banned within a similar time-frame and whether this would ever be reviewed again? We will see..

Thanks again for everybodies comments.
