Hi there,

I know this is a long shot but I have come back to RS after a 2 year hiatus and want to login to my main account. Unfortunately the @live.com login email I used has been permanently deactivated by Microsoft. I also don't remember my last password as I had changed it following being hacked and shortly after stopped playing.

All I need to do is change my contact email address. It's the same as the @live but at @microsoft.

I remember all recovery questions, old passwords, when I became a member etc but after completing a recover lost account form I receive a generic reply that it has been denied.

I just need jagex to listen to what's happened so I can explain it but unfortunately support from jagex is pretty poor and I have no way of liaising with them through like a live chat etc.

Does anyone here have any suggestions please? I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

There are only two ways to change the registered email.
1. with access to the current registered email
2. via account recovery if you don't have access to the current registered email

If there is no possibility of getting access to the old email, your only option is to keep trying account recovery.

So, you tried once and were denied.
Keep trying.
Always check the reasons for the deny and try to improve that part of the information.
Post back and tell us how quickly the deny reply arrives after you submit your recovery. When we know the answer to this, it helps us to know how far into the process you have got stuck.

Same problem with me as well. I have all information about my account and yet I was denied. I also tried contacting my email provider but they asked me 3 questions I failed at because I haven't used the email in a very long time. I've been waiting for the current email I have to be deleted out from inactivity but it's still there. The email provider would not let me use a password, instead it wanted an old phone number I also don't have access to. I wished it were easier to change the email, being the account owner and having information no other person would possibly know. Player since 2005.

Iím not sure what your email provider might be, but is it possible to recover that email without using your old phone number? If its Microsoft, you can submit an email recovery form and you just have to provide with as much detail about the email as you can, including if you have any Skype accounts linked to it.
