Hello,

One of my accounts was hacked and used to break the rules. The username was "Meknes", and I believe the ban said that it was used to bot OSRS. While the account was originally created for OSRS (for pure pking), I stopped playing it and used it exclusively for RS3 for years.
I would pay for membership with bonds. I eventually quit the account, and the next time I tried to log in (it had been many months at that point), it was banned.
All I want is to access the account. This account that I am posting from is my new account.

Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide to help prove this was my account. Looking forward to hearing back from someone.

Hey, GIMmeYaMunee.

Did you appeal the ban using the instructions here Account Bans? If you did and a response was sent to you, then it means that there was no clear evidence of someone else being in control of the account at the time of the rule-breaking incident. The appeal method is actually designed to help people that are victims of a hijacking event, but there needs to be clear evidence that a third-party was present when the rules were broken.

If you already exhausted this appeal method and a response was sent with a denial, then I am afraid that the account will remain banned. Meanwhile, I suggest that you improve your security settings by following the advice below:

Computer security: Securing your computer
RuneScape account security: Securing your account
Email security: Keeping your email secure

Unfortunately, this was the case. I am unsure why it would not show up as the account being hacked? I logged in from the same computer for years. I am assuming if somebody else logged in, Jagex could detect that, so the evidence should all be there on their end. And yes, I did attempt to appeal. It was denied.

They could yes, but it has to be conclusive, with evidence and all, that someone else was present at the time of occurrence. There are instances where a hijacker is able to completely control your computer through a Remote Access Trojan (RAT) and sometimes, these are extremely hard to detect and differentiate between the original account owner and the hijacker.

This is what Malua, a Community Helper, said on another thread with a similar concern as yours:

Jagex need to see that a hijacker was in control of the account at the time of the offence and, somehow, that evidence wasn't apparent.
