My advice to people with macroing bans is to completely uninstall any third party client followed by a computer restart. Then, they can appeal their account's ban if they believe it was applied in error. If nothing comes out of the appeal, unfortunately that means Jagex deems it correct. Understandable, but don't about half of Old School players use RuneLite. I'm after a response to the problem of tons of people getting banned as of today for "Macroing Major" when they haven't. Not for advice on how to prevent something like this in the future no offence.
A real response from anyone at Jagex would be fantastic. Unlike the person in the screenshots I posted, most people don't have access to contact a JMod and are all currently banned. A real response would go a long way for these people.
Normally macroing bans are issued in large waves (I guess thousands of accounts). Have they tried appealing the bans? It says it's unappealable, but they are in fact appealable!
2_Tronsaid: ^ Good advice, not crossed my mind yet to make sure you have to delete all these third party clients as Jagex still might detect them on a players computer risking a ban. Somewhere else it is what we advise when our AC detects cheating. I don't know a whole lot about RuneLite, but there's no telling if the players has somehow got a fake copy of the client or a plugin that breaches the macroing rule. In that event it will be a good idea to uninstall and reboot so that it won't be detected and flagged through memory/processes and cause unncessary bans for other accounts.Life is like a camera: Just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot!
Players who are using runelite do that on their behalf taking the risk to get banned/permanent banned for utilizing illegal software to use for game abuse/unfair advantages. Players using runelite in 2019 have been warned that Jagex/JMods will not tolerate these ways and warning The RuneScape Community using third party clients at their own risk.
The problem is '
' for ignoring all warnings still using third party clients over Jagex's Official RuneScape Clients to make sure you have the upper-hand in gameplay through game abuse/unfair advantages.
You have been warned over 20 years to not use other means other than Jagex's Official RuneScape Clients. Being banned are the consequences of ignoring 20 years of warnings.
More than half the playbase uses 3rd party clients.
The problem isn't me myself because it's not me who is banned.
Jagex just recently also allowed the HD pugin in RuneLite to be released, that in itself gives some credibility and legitimacy to some 3rd party clients or at least RuneLite.
My friend didn't have a fake copy, nor did he cheat. There has been a ton of bans today all for the same thing and with everyone claiming they've done nothing wrong. I know my friend didn't cheat so I have reason to believe everyone isn't lying as well.
As this is not an account issue, and moreso a rant about "false bans" and it contains naming and shaming, I've locked this post and hidden a few posts for naming and shaming.
Please only use this subforum for account issues regarding your own accounts.
Also, as outlined above, using 3rd party clients means that you're doing so at your own risk, and you alone are responsible for any action that may be taken against your account due to the use of these programs.Community Manager for Jagex
