Hi Jagex.
I recently logged back into this account after a very long period of time and tried to update my email preferences. The issue I am having is the old email linked with this account is expired, I wanted to link it to a more frequently used one but don't have the ability to do so. It is an old Yahoo account, could someone help me figure out how to do this please?

Hi there
No Church in

The first step is to try to re-activate the old email.
This makes putting through a change of registered email for your RS account very simple.
If you are unable to re-activate the old email, the only way to set a new registered email is to do so via an account 'recovery'.

Try to re-activate the old email instructions: Your email is old/inaccessible

If you need to go down the account recovery path, start on the Changing your registered email support page and follow the instructions under "Don't have access to the registered email?"

Hello again Malua.
I tried to follow the instructions you gave me, I tried calling and reactivating my email but it didn't work. Then I proceeded to try the other information and had no luck with that either, I think a big factor is that any old information I have pertaining to membership or anything of that sort are in the email I can't access. Well on the bright side I still have my account, I just cant update any of the security information to something more current. Any other advice you might have.

Have another few goes at the recovery because, if you continue to play, you really will need to get that registered email updated and, as the years pass, it will just get harder and harder to do.

As you have game access, login and talk to Hans in Lumbridge.
Hans will tell you exactly how old your account is and you will be able to calculate the month/year of creation.

You should know the Creation location.
If you don't know the Creation ISP, ask a family member if they can help with that information.
Passwords should be the oldest you can remember. The Creation password is the best.

Payment information should be the oldest you used. You might no longer have access to the card number or a transaction ID but you should still know who paid, how they paid and the payers postcode and email. This is usable information.

If the account has ever been hijacked, only submit information that predates that hijack as Jagex want to see information from a time when the account was completely secure.

Send the recovery from a location where the account is regularly played. If that location is at or close to the Creation location, that will be helpful too.
If you have moved a long way away from the creation location, try to only submit information that can be dated to the creation location.
Recent information on a very old account has little value. Only submit information from the time before you took your very long hiatus.
