Before I make an a$$ of myself with a bug report, aren't Burthorpe/Taverly achievements normally shown in the achievement's exploration section? I do not show either, not incomplete/complete, neither area is listed and I'm wondering if that's why familiarization in Taverley is broken.

**I asked a clan mate to look in hers and she doesn't see either area listed, either.

I noticed that too... I figured I just got unlucky and the D&D ended between teleporting and asking Pikkupstix about it. Maybe it's actually a bug then.

Pretty sure they said at the very beginning of this month that there would be no updates, or possibly one near the end of the month, so I don't know why anyone is surprised over there being no updates today.

I think it's less "surprise", more "exasperation". Three months in a row with only marginal amounts of new, non-limited-time-event content is uncharacteristic for RuneScape, and considering that we've had two patch weeks that went over like a lead balloon in the past month (the Sigil removal/rework and last week's), I'm not surprised that patience with Jagex is wearing thin right now.

Not helping matters is that, while Jagex has been talking about long-term goals lately, we really don't have any indication that things are going to improve in the short-term. October will likely also be sparse with Halloween and RuneFest, and while I'd personally be fine with December playing out like last year with a piece of permanent content served alongside limited-time goodies, I don't think it'll satisfy people who feel like the second half of 2019 has crashed and burned so far.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. Nine consecutive weeks without a content update really isn't acceptable for a subscription-based game. What are we subscribing for, anyway? This is exactly why I only sub for a month or two a year, there's just not enough content to warrant playing longer.

That being said, I love Anachronia, even if it does feel a bit lifeless with the lack of examines and side quests - and quests are really the one area that Runescape shines over other games. Just about everything else, there are other games that do better. But quests are always interesting and funny, and they're what keeps bringing me back to the game.

IMO the issue isn't the lack of content, but the quality and how Jagex aims to actually rebuild the community feel to the game.

Minigames are just a no-no in current vein. The existing ones are all dead content, any time they've tried to reinvigorate them they just fail, and within weeks most worlds are empty. Just look at Shattered Worlds.

They need to stop focusing on the PvM and work on bringing gear to mini-games, or creating gear that you can't trade but have decent stats either way. Ports was a good idea, but obviously is exclusive to you. Even if they just created a mini game that offered 'kits' to upgrade various things, that would be fine.

so minigames die immediately and you want them to focus on minigames by shoehorning gear into them to force people to play content that would otherwise be dead? also, what gear are you talking about? we have tank and dps gear available for extremely cheap at any tier below 92, which the exception of maybe tectonic which might be a bit pricey for some people.

Forcing people to play content that would otherwise be dead is literally Jagex's entire job. Would anyone do PvM if the drops sucked? People go where the money is, and where the gear is, so making minigame rewards more lucrative is a great idea that might actually revitalise them. And personally, minigames are a hell of a lot more fun to play than PvM bosses. They're also more nuanced than just pure combat, requiring an understanding of unique mechanics and strategy to leverage them, more so than simply spamming the right abilities at the right time.

yes. I have done close to 200 solak duos and haven't got a single drop worth over 10m.

I was talking about drop potential, not the actual drops you get. Solak can drop blight c'bows, which are a very lucrative reason to kill him.
There will always be gamblers, but if there's nothing worthwhile to gamble for, the gamblers will move elsewhere.

friend, you arent even maxed combat, you haven't actually reached the point where you can partake in real pvm. spamming abilities with no strategy or understanding of ability rotations works fine for a 1:20 vind kill, it doesn't work so great against telos. try a 100% telos for me will you? then try a 500% practice mode telos, spam your abilities and see how far you get.

Here we go. Friend, I have no desire to partake in "real pvm." Why would I want to grind out my combat levels to max just so I can grind them out more on some bosses? The fact that the bosses you mention require such twitch timing with abilities is exactly my point. That's not even remotely my idea of fun. Which, I might remind you, is the primary experience most players want from any game, including Runescape. Fun. Not drops. Not grinding. Jagex might have stats that tell them players go where the money is, but players stay where the fun is. Were that not the case, Runescape wouldn't even bother having minigames in the first place.
People keep asking me why I'm not maxed, and honestly, at this point, it's mostly so that I'm not just another one of the PvM-obsessed drones. Why don't they just play Monster Hunter: World or something with actual fun PvM mechanics, anyway?
