In just a couple of days, this Thursday according to Hans, I will have officially marked 10 years as a citizen of RuneScape! :D

Although I'm normally not the type to create a thread all about myself, I have decided it is at long last time to do exactly that. I intend to use this thread to celebrate my very nearly 10-year history in Gielinor by looking back and by looking ahead. I'll even entertain questions and accept congratulations. Yes, I know plenty of others have logged 10+ years playing RuneScape already...however, before the end of this week, I will have done so in a way some would find unthinkable - 10 years as a pure F2P!

That's right. I am about to mark 10 years with this game as a free player. Impossible? No. I doubt I'm the only one to make it this far without ever being a member, even for a single day. I'm not aware of very many others who have been 100% pure F2P for a decade or more, and even if I was I am still celebrating the milestone all the same. Nearly ten years to the day since I was browsing the Miniclip forums and learned of this game called "RuneScape". I thought, "RuneScape, huh? Sounds interesting. I think I'll check it out." 10 years later, I am still here.

A lot has changed over those 10 years, but one thing that hasn't changed is that after all this time, I still find reasons to keep coming back to Gielinor.

I shall now begin the thread by posting this welcoming message, followed by some frequently asked questions I have received over my time here. Well, when I say frequently, obviously some have been asked more frequently than others. Well, some of them have truly been asked of me, and some of those more than once. In any event, here comes the FAQ. Don't say you weren't warned. Hold tight! ;)

Were you named after Aslan, "The Great Lion", from The Chronicles of Narnia?

No. Neither was I named in part after Dak, Luke Skywalker's gunner during the Battle of Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back, who felt he could take on the whole Empire himself.

I came up with the name "Aslon Dak" for a fighter character I created, but never played, for Dungeons & Dragons. The name is a variation on a character from the Doctor Who comic strip named Abslom Daak. Abslom, a human criminal from the 26th century found guilty of numerous crimes, was given a choice between being vaporised or exiled to a Dalek-controlled planet, where he wasn't expected to live very long. He chose the latter. With his weapon of choice, the chainsword, Abslom began his life as a Dalek Killer on the planet Mazam, where he met and fell in love with the princess Taiyin. She is killed by a Dalek Daak had failed to completely destroy. As she dies, Taiyin tells Daak "For you the sentence is harder...you have to live." Abslom vows he'll do better than just live. He intends to kill every last stinking Dalek in the galaxy!

That's the origin of my name. I also based my character's basic look on Daak, as well as his fondness for drinking and for fighting. I improvised the rest.

Where were you born?

In Lumbridge. When I was of age, I journeyed to Tutorial Island where I learned what I needed to know in order to embark on my career as an adventurer.

Are you a member? Have you ever been, or will you ever be, a member?

No.

Do you have a pet?

Yes, a baby troll. He is called Cabbage, in spite of the fact he did not want to be named for a vegetable. Also, I have Eek the Spider, but she spends a lot of time hanging out with Diango. Usually I visit with her each Halloween. NOTE: A complete list of my pets appears on page 11, post #5 of this thread.

Why do you prefer using a longsword instead of a scimitar or 2-handed sword?

I've always liked to train my Attack, Defence, and Strength equally. Not sure why. I just have. Pre-EOC, the only practical way to do this was to use the controlled(thrust)attack, and the longsword had a higher-hitting, though slightly slower version of this sort of stab attack than the scimitar. Sure, the 2-hander hits harder than both the longsword or the scimitar, but I like to employ a shield. Since EOC, this makes even more sense, since without a shield you cannot use the rejuvenate ability. I do keep a rune 2-handed handy for those rare occasions when extra damage becomes a priority, however in nearly all cases I find a trusty rune long does just fine.

Do you even own a scimmy?

Currently, I have 41 rune scimitars in my bank. I bought the first one a long time ago, in case I decided to use one in place of the longsword, just for variety. All the rest I have found as drops. For some reason, instead of selling them I simply started collecting them. Not sure why. I just have.

Aside from the Rune Longsword, what are some of your other favorite weapons?

The Exquisite Claw, Exquisite Whip, and the fiercely fowl weapon known as the Rubber Chicken.

Seriously?

Yes. I've used the RC to take out King Scorpions, even a Moss Giant. Took a while, but I did it. One of these days, I'm thinking of going to kill a Lesser Demon wielding just the Rubber Chicken. It's on the list of things I want to try. Some day, when I get around to it.

You say you are a Guthix Knight. Please explain.

Without going into great detail, we are warriors who follow nearly all the teachings of Guthix. We acknowledge him as a Tier 2 God, but do not so much worship him as we do admire his accomplishments as well as his intentions. While we see the need for balance between Law and Chaos, we are not so even-handed as Guthix himself between the virtues of Good and Evil.

A mix of both Order and Freedom is the best way to bring about the most amount of Good for the greatest number of beings. As alignment goes, whereas Guthix would be pure Neutral, consider us to be Neutral Good. We abide by a certain code, but I've already gone into more detail than I had intended.

So how many other Guthix Knights are there?

At least two, who I know personally, but beyond that I will not say.

Who did you support during the World Events?

Saradomin and Armadyl.

Are you in a clan?

I led a clan for awhile. I started it with my best friend, then two other friends joined us. I was thinking of disbanding the clan anyway, but when the 6th Age began the four of us agreed to break up the clan. My three friends have decided to create a new clan based upon service to Seren. I consider myself friendly to Seren and her followers, but remain free from the responsibilities of a clan.

Would you like to join my clan?

Thank you for asking, but no.

Could you give me free money?

Could I? Yes. Will I? No.

Ok, so far so good. Only one unnecessary, idiotic computer-generated censoring of a completely harmless name. Could've been worse.

I had a quick chat with Hans this afternoon, and was told I will be able to claim the 10-year veteran cape tomorrow!

However, I am on the east coast of the U.S.A. and my reset hour is 8pm local time. This means I will be able to claim the 10-year cape in two hours! :D

Thank you both for your kind words! :) The three of us sure have seen some times together.

As for my classic black cape, Holly...well you know me. :p I'm currently wearing the 10-year cape, but I have the black cape in my backpack so I can switch back to it at any time.

Oh, and the other night, after I got the cape, part of my celebration included making several kills wielding the dreaded Rubber Chicken! I didn't go to the Lesser Demons though. Instead, I went for an ever bigger challenge - the Deadly Red Spiders! I went into the Varrock sewers and just before I reached the spiders' lair, I switched weapons and began to attack the Deadly Reds using the Rubber Chicken. I killed the first one while using Momentum. That took about a minute. Then, I switched to Full Manual and killed another 5 Deadly Reds using abilities and the 'Chicken. Ever employ the Overpower ability while armed with a Rubber Chicken? More like Underpower. Certainly underwhelming, as you'd expect. Still, I managed to hit in the 700s with it. Not exactly the most powerful weapon in all of RuneScape indeed! However, it was fun and that's what's important. Well, fun for me anyway...not so much for the Deadly Reds. :D

Congrats on getting your 10-year cape, Holly! I know very well you started a few days after I did. ;) Adriana, you'll get to claim one someday. I know you qualify for a 5-year cape anyway, even though I know capes aren't really your style. Hehe.

Oh, I like that. I think I'll use it as a signature. :D

You are missed at the clan meetings, Aslon. I hope you find what it is you are looking for. ^_^

Thank you, Ashe! Yeah, I remember those early times...the four of us getting together in the room above the Varrock General Store, comparing notes on the monsters we'd fought, the quests we'd completed, the best places to train, and so on. Ah, yes!

I reckon you must have mixed feelings regarding the return of Elf City, yes? I know they didn't exactly treat you well there. Even so, it's still part of your heritage. Perhaps one day you'll go back there. :)

Thank you, zealot. ;)

You do know I supported Saradomin during The Battle Of Lumbridge, right? I even helped him out on a little job afterwards. Well, it was myself and a certain knight from Falador. He didn't make it back quite all the way, and your god wasn't a great deal of help to him!

So what is The Big S up to these days? He seems to be keeping somewhat of a low profile lately. It would've been nice had he stuck around and helped out with the rebuilding of Lumby - but I suppose he had bigger and better things on his mind, yes? :P

So, to cap my month-long celebration of earning my 10-year-vet cape I bought a couple of RS $25 cards this past weekend and spent them on runecoins. In addition to getting a pair of pretty cool-looking weapon overrides, I finally boosted my bank, something I really should've done a while ago.

Now that I have plenty of extra bank space, I've decided to revisit dungeoneering. I've completed a few floors so far this week. My immediate goal was going to be to reach level 60 dungeoneering. However, more and more I am recalling there are other issues in regards to dungeoneering which annoy me, aside from needing to enter the dungeons wearing nothing and with an empty backpack.

I haven't gained any new levels so far. My dungeoneering level remains at 57. I am considering maybe just getting one new level then taking another long break from dungeoneering. In addition to throwing off the xp counts of some of my skills which I like to keep even with other skills, the bosses so far have simply not been enough of a challenge. If I continue to be both annoyed and bored with dungeoneering, my return to it may very well be short-lived.

Time will tell. It always does...

Well, as I suspected, it didn't take all that long before I got bored training dungeoneering. I have since abandoned the skill/minigame in favor of returning to regular training. I did manage to gain a level, raising my dungeoneering level to 58. I didn't find any of the journals I've been missing. Now I am working on restoring the balance between my ATT, DEF, and STR levels. Lifting those heavy bars blocking a few of the doors forced me to gain some extra strength XP. At least I have rebalanced my firemaking and woodcutting levels once more.

After I rebalance my combat skills, I plan to keep training combat while waiting for the Halloween event. Even after 10+ years, I still look forward to the holiday events here! :)

Oh, and I found another rune scimitar early this morning while training on the roach soldiers. My collection of these now numbers 42. ^_^

Both the Halloween event and the Bonus XP Weekend are behind us now. While I didn't get a chance to play quite as much as I would've liked, I did manage to score all the F2P rewards from Death, along with a fair number of XP lamps. Many of the lamps I used to get closer to reaching level 86 in my four highest skills - Attack, Constitution, Defense, and Strength. However, I did apply a few XP lamps to other skills I was closer to gaining a level in. One of these was Mining.

I did not gain a Mining level over the course of the Bonus XP Weekend. However, the 7000-something XP I was short I managed to earn earlier this evening. As a result, a short time ago I achieved level-80 Mining! :)

I now have five skills as a pure F2P which are at level 80 or above. Several others are in the 70s, and I expect one of these will end up being the next skill that I gain a level in. Most likely it'll be cooking, which is currently at 75.

Time will tell. It always does...

As I predicted, Cooking was the next skill of mine to be leveled up. Earlier tonight I achieved 76 Cooking, followed quickly thereafter by getting 74 Fishing.

Tonight I also passed the 2, 000, 000 XP mark in regards to Mining. :)

I worked on getting my Crafting up a little tonight as well. This remains one of my lowest ranked skills, along with Dungeoneering, both of which are currently at 59. I'd like to get them both at least to 60 by year's end. Crafting should be simple enough, but Dungeoneering...I don't know. This skill just annoys me.

I'd also like to gain at least one more Combat Level before the year is over.

The success I have in reaching these goals, I suspect, may in part depend on how distracting the Christmas event is this year, as well as the Thanksgiving event(if there is one).

I raised my Crafting to level 60 earlier tonight, with the help of one of those new smouldering XP lamps...even though they have no effect on BXP if you are F2P. I guess that's to be expected, but still I had hoped these lamps would enable me to burn off that 25k BXP cluttering up my skills tab.

So now the only free-to-train skill I have that is not level 60 or higher is Dungeoneering, currently at level 59.

Dungeoneering...ugh. O_o

Monday night, I met another goal I had wanted to attain before the end of the year:

Through training, and the skillful use of Festive Lamps, I raised my Attack, Constitution, Defense, and Strength all to level 86, thereby gaining another Combat level: 107

I might hit CL 108 after gaining another level in either Magic or Ranged, but if I do not, that's fine.

One last EOY task still to complete. Yes, that's right...Dungeoneering level 60. I've used a couple glowing lamps on the skill to get me that much closer, but have resisted using the more powerful XP lamps to get Dungeoneering 60 for two reasons:

1) I have had better uses for the Festive Lamps(see above - also, I got Smithing 76 tonight...anyone need any addy longswords?) :)

2)As I am so close to that final 2014 goal(now about 2200 XP to go), I'd prefer to actually earn that last bit of Dungeoneering XP - and what better time to do that than during the upcoming Dungeoneering Weekend?! ^_^

I will succeed, one way or another.

It is done! Earlier tonight I successfully reached the last of my end-of-the-year goals. I attained level 60 Dungeoneering. :)

Ironically enough, although this weekend was a Dungeoneering weekend, I missed out on practically all of it, since I was not on much Saturday, and I spent the late morning and all afternoon Sunday catching up on sleep - in fact, I only logged in about a half hour before the Sunday to Monday reset!

Fortunately, in spite of not being on for most of Dungeoneering weekend, I managed to get more than the 2200-something XP I needed to reach level 60 Dungeoneering after only one small solo dungeon! I completed that one, then a second before returning to other skilling tasks.

Now all my F2P skills are at least level 60, with all member skills at level 5, even Construction(thanks to World Event 2)! I'm planning to spend any remaining Festive Lamps on Mining and Smithing. While I have no more goals set for the end of 2014, I am already looking ahead to 2015. I currently have Mining level 80 and Smithing level 76. As I once thought how cool it will be to someday be able to wear and wield rune items, now I think how cool it will be to be able to mine rune and to smith rune items. Will 2015 be the year I reach those particular goals? Guthix knows, but I will certainly work towards reaching them! ^_^

Earlier this afternoon, I completed a daily challenge - to craft 70 woodcutting urns. As a result, I gained a Crafting level of 61. This brought my total level to 1228. :)

Now there is no longer a two-way tie for my lowest ranked skill. That dubious honor solely belongs to Dungeoneering, which remains at level 60.

Yeah...Dungeoneering... O_o

During the upcoming BXP Weekend, I plan to focus on Ranged, Fishing, and Crafting, although I'd also like to work on Smithing and Mining - if I have the time.

In preparation, I stockpiled some iron ore to use in the Artisans' Workshop.

Gaining a couple of skill levels over this weekend would be nice, but my main goal is to finally use up the otherwise useless BXP I've acquired through WE1, the 2013 Christmas event, and using a pair of falling stars on my Fishing skill as an experiment.

Good luck everyone with whatever you hope to accomplish during BXP Weekend! :p

I'd have to say last month's BXP Weekend went well. Not only did I succeed in using up all my bonus XP, I gained a few levels in the process:

Fishing 75
Ranged 62
Mining 81

As for long-term goals I would like to reach later this year, I haven't really settled on too many I plan to really focus on intently. Gaining a combat level ranks pretty high up the list, though that will most likely happen via Ranged, which I don't train very often.

Aside from that, I would like to find my 50th Rune Scimitar in time for summer. :p

A few hours ago, I managed to reach Smithing level 78, thanks to two of the three XP lamps earned by completing this year's Easter event, followed by a little quality time in the Artisans Workshop! :D

Ok, so it's not a 99...yet...but it's a step closer.

Right then - anyone need an adamant square shield? :p

It has been a productive evening, combat-wise. A few hours ago, I reached Magic level 75, thanks to a magic training dummy. Then I decided to focus on Ranged, and raised that skill to 64, with the unwilling help of many, many scorps. Hehe.

Unfortunately, neither of these gains increased my overall Combat Level, which is still at 107. Unless I luck out and gain a Prayer level to raise my CL, I reckon I'll still be at level 107 when Tuska arrives next week. I did work on melee for a bit as well tonight, but I have a looong way to go before leveling those.

WE3 should be good for some serious XP gains...and not just combat gains either.

After all, when the dust settles and Tuska is defeated someone is going to have to cook up all that bacon! :p

If RuneScape had an 11-year veteran cape, then today would be the first day I'd qualify for such an achievement item! :D

11 years of playing RS may not seem to be much of a milestone to those who have played since the earliest days of RS1, or even going back to the Devious Mud days, but it is a significant amount of time to devote to a single on-line game.

I have seen many developments to RS over the course of these past 11 years, and to this day I still find reasons to log in practically every day. Furthermore, I have no plans to stop playing any time soon either.

During the past 11 years, how many days have I been a member? Zero. Furthermore, I have no plans to become a member any time down the road either.

This weekend, I will start my 12th year as a citizen of Gielinor. It's been fun, and to this day I still enjoy my 'Scaping time. Really, that's what it's all about. Some players obsess way too much about being/remaining #1 on the high scores, or they start twitching if they aren't earning the absolute maximum XP/hour every hour they are logged in. RuneScape, like any game, is intended to be fun! Even on the days when I have only a very short amount of time to log in, just to get my daily tasks done, I don't worry about real life being an XP waste any more than I consider RS to be a waste of time in real life. I make time for both, as much as I can, without stressing out about any of it. Whether I am on to kill, skill, or mostly just chill, I end up at least a little more successful - in one regard or another - than I was before logging in. To me, that's a positive gaming experience. In other words...fun! :)

Earlier this hour, I finally got Ranged level 70! :)

This didn't raise my Combat Level, but now I have only two F2P skills under 70:

Crafting and Dungeoneering. Ugh.

This afternoon, I finally reached mining level 85! :D

No more drunken mining for me in order to obtain runite ore! :p

"Drunken mining?", you may be wondering. Yes, well I've been bringing a few dwarven stouts with me into the resource dungeon in the Mining Guild below the east Falador bank to get a couple rune ores before the drink would wear off, returning me to Mining level 84. Now I can mine runite completely sober!

I think that's for the best, considering how an accident might occur swinging a rune pickaxe around while under the influence of dwarven stout. ;)

For now, all I can do with the runite ores is stockpile them until I reach Smithing level 85. Currently, my Smithing is at 83. Someday though...someday.

Bring on that Mining/Smithing rework - I am ready! :)

Yesterday I completed a "Bury 15 Big Bones" daily challenge. Normally, this would be no big deal, as I've done quite a few of these ever since F2P got daily challenges.

However, turning in this particular challenge resulted in raising my Prayer to level 72, which in turn boosted my Combat Level to 109, after being stuck at level 108 for what has seemed to be ages! :D

This most likely will not last for long, as lately I've been training combat a little more than usual(and combat is one of my most favorite activities to train). I have less than 30k xp to go before I raise Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength from 87 to 88. Once this happens, I expect I ought to reach CL 110! :)

After that, I'll probably be at that Combat Level for another lengthy period of time. :p

Thank you Dear! :D

Indeed, with the help of quite a few scorpions, earlier tonight I raised Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength all to level 88, which got me to Combat Level 110! As an added bonus, I went on to attain Ranged 71. ^_^

I expect it'll be quite some time before I level melee again, or gain another Combat Level. Still, tonight's gains get me that much closer to maxed combat! :)

The scorps thought they had it bad before! Hehe.

Oh, and one more random fact: my Total Level is now 1312. I don't know what has compelled me to share this information. I just figured I would. :p

Back on December 19th, 2015, I posted here to announce I'd reached Ranged level 70, which left me with only two free-player skills under 70.

Early this morning, thanks to the Invasion of Port Sarim event, I finally raised one of those two skills to level 70...Crafting! Yes, I can now craft diamond amulets! :D

This leaves me with only one skill under 70. If you've followed my thread previously, you can most likely guess which skill. Yes, that's right: Dungeoneering. Through the use of several small Dungeoneering XP lamps, also gained through the Port Sarim event, I now have level 64 Dungeoneering.

Perhaps I will reach the goal of getting all F2P skills to at least 70 before the end of the year. It'll require more Dungeoneering than I care to do - or a lot of XP lamps! :p

By the way, my Total Level is now 1320 as a pure free player. :)

This past Monday, I finally raised my Smithing to level 85! Now, not only am I able to mine runite, I can smelt rune bars and smith rune daggers! :D I'd never bothered getting a rune dagger previously. Now I have three rune daggers plus three off-hand rune daggers in the bank.

This afternoon, I read on the news page the mining/smithing rework is being put off until next year. I'm not sure how I feel about that, mostly because I am not certain exactly how the rework will affect free players. If F2P will be able to mine any of the new ores and smith any new items, that'll be something to look forward to. However, I have to say it would be anti-climatic to go instantly from being able to smith only a couple of rune items to being able to make pretty much every rune item. More EasyScape. Bah! I prefer working towards a goal, not having it dropped into my lap fully completed for me.

So...anyone need a rune dagger? ;)

This afternoon, after completing my daily tasks, I took a little trip to The Runespan. As a result, I managed to raise my Runecrafting to level 80! :)

Until The Runespan came along, I really hated Runecrafting. For quite some time it was my lowest ranked skill.

Of the 16 skills open to free players beyond level 5, I now have 9 of them in the 80s, and another 6 in the 70s.

Then, there is Dungeoneering...

Today I mark 12 years as a citizen of RuneScape! :D

I still remember that fateful day when I was checking out the links on the old Mini-Clip website(does that even still exist?). I came across a link to this site called RuneScape and thought, "Hmm. This sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out." Shortly thereafter, I did check it out, and the rest is RuneScape lore. ;)

That was exactly 12 years ago today. Where does the time go?

Thanks to everyone at Jagex for this great game, and to all the cool players I've met over the years who add to the RuneScape experience!

Onward to Year 13! :)

One week ago, I raised both Mining and Smithing to level 86, thanks to mining a lot of addy and rune ores, as well as using 250 protean bars to do some protean rune smithing! :D

Earlier this hour, by doing a spot of Fishing on Tutorial Island and by completing a Cooking challenge(39 meat pizzas), I raised both of those skills...to level 86.

A pattern is emerging. ;) :p

Dungeoneering, my lowest ranked F2P skill, is still at level 65, even after using two XP lamps on that skill within the past week, including one just last night. I'm getting slightly over 2, 000 Dungeoneering XP per small prismatic lamp.

Dungeoneering level 86 will take me considerably longer to reach. Bah. O_o

On July 19th, 2016, I posted that I hoped to reach at least level 70 in all my F2P skills before the end of the year.

I am happy to announce I successfully reached that goal this morning by getting Dungeoneering level 70! :D

I reached Dungeoneering level 67 back on December 7th, level 68 on December 11th, and level 69 on December 15th.

So, have I been doing a lot of Dungeoneering these past couple of weeks? Hah! :p

No, I did use a medium XP lamp to help boost my Dungeoneering. However, most of the Dungeoneering XP I've recently earned came from using advanced pulse cores while doing quite a bit of seal sliding! :)

What...did you really think I've been spending so much time Dungeoneering the traditional way? O_o

So with time to spare before 2016 comes to an end, I have managed to raise all my skills into the 70s and 80s, except for member skills(which are all at 5, except Invention of course). To be honest, I was beginning to wonder if Dungeoneering level 70 would have to wait until after the start of the new year - but I made it! Thank you Xmas event! :D

Merry Christmas one and all! :)

Happy New Year fellow citizens of Gielinor! :D

As I mentioned in the previous post, I managed to reach my final goal for 2016 before the end of the year - Dungeoneering level 70. It turned out my last XP gain before 2017 was actually Dungeoneering 71! Now who saw that coming? I sure didn't! O_o

A few hours ago, I got my first skill gain for 2017: Smithing level 87! Yes, I am now able to smith rune maces! See, this is why I am of two minds regarding the upcoming Mining/Smithing rework. While it will be nice to have additional ores to work with(presuming any of the new ores will be F2P), I really hope the rebalancing of the tables won't result in suddenly being able to smith every rune item at level 50, with no further incentive beyond that for free players to keep leveling Smithing! We should always have goals. We need to continue striving for new gains. Otherwise, what is the point? We may as well "train" bankstanding! :p

I've not decided upon any new goals for this new year so far. A bit early for that, in my estimation. Who knows, maybe I'll go for Dungeoneering level 72! ;)

This was accomplished by completing another Big Bones challenge, after showing off my dance moves at the Spring Fayre. :p

My Total Level is now 1384. I also noticed my total XP is over 50 million, which probably happened a couple of days ago. I also now have over 46.2 million coins!

Mining is now in a five-way tie for my second highest skill, along with Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength.

My highest skill is still Smithing, at level 92, which I attained shortly before the Mining & Smithing Rework went live.

I am considering working on raising my Fletching level, currently at only 26. I've not trained that skill for some time, not since shortly after it became an F2P skill. :p

Today I took 800 water balloons out of my bank to pop them for XP. After using more than half to balance out my Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength, I had 331 left over. I opted to pop them all and put the XP towards Fletching, raising that skill to level 36.

I still have 2000 water balloons left in the bank. My bank has many strange and wonderful things in it. Earlier, I took out my Rubber Chicken and my Yo-Yo to play with. It had been awhile since I last had fun with those. :)

1.2XP Weekend, Day 1

This afternoon, I made some shieldbows, steel & mithril arrows, and steel & silver bolts. This raised my Fletching from level 36 to 48! :)

I also made some mithril arrowheads and did some protean elder rune smithing to reach Smithing level 93! :D

I still have 450 protean bars I haven't used yet. I don't know that I'll reach Smithing 94 by the end of the weekend, but I'll certainly get closer to it!

1.2XP Weekend, Day 2

After spending a good portion of the afternoon and early evening yesterday(as it's now after Midnight)gathering materials to create 1000 opal, jade, and topaz bolts, I raised my Fletching from level 48 to 50! :)

I also did a lot of Smithing today, using up all the protean bars I had left. I also made 40 more rune off-hand longswords, and a set of adamant burial armor, plus the bolts. This brought me SO close to 94 Smithing - I am only 210XP away! Unfortunately, my internet went down for a bit, interrupting me as I was making three more sets of fully upgraded adamant armor, to be turned into more burial armor sets. I will finish those later today, getting to 94 Smithing in the process! :D

Internet came back a short time ago. Now that I've posted this, it's time for bed. More XP gains to come later today! :)

1.2XP Weekend, Day 3

As expected, I easily reached Smithing level 94 this afternoon! All it took was a few swings of the hammer against the third of three adamant platebodies +2 I had been working on as part of three sets of burial armor. I finished those today and turned them in. I also made 20 more rune off-hand longswords. I now have 100 of those in my bank, to go along with the 100 rune longswords I have in there. After burning up over 400, 000 Bonus XP, I now have over 8 million XP in Smithing! :)

No Fletching gains today. For the 1.2XP Weekend though, I gained 14 Fletching levels, going from level 36 to 50! :)

After I got sick of Smithing, I relaxed by spending some quality time attacking ice giants and ice warriors. I still have to gain over 300, 000 XP in Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength before getting to level 90 in those skills.

Tonight I reached Fletching level 51, after finishing turning the 250 maple logs I had in the bank into unstrung maple shortbows. 228 of those maple logs I won on TH the day after 1.2XP Weekend ended! Of course, right? :p

I have 250 bowstrings ready to use. I just have to decide if I'm going to use 5 more pulse cores to get a 10% XP boost, or get the same boost from buying a portable fletcher. Maybe I'll get lucky and find someone at the Grand Exchange already using a portable fletcher! :)

Today I closed out the month of February by gaining one more Fletching level, reaching level 52! I could fletch mith darts, if F2P were able to make darts. I strung 100 of those 250 unstrung maple shortbows I mentioned previously. I decided not to use either pulse cores or a portable fletcher.

After 100 shortbows, I got bored and left the G.E. to do some PvM at the Stronghold of Security. I ended up finding two left skull halves and two right skull halves. I put them together and placed them in my bank, for a total of 10 strange skulls, not including my completed skull scepter. My bank is an odd place. :p

March is off to a great start! Tonight, while mining runite in the Mining Guild, I reached Mining level 90! My second skill raised into the 90s!

What made this accomplishment extra special is that during those final 10, 700 or so XP I was also in private chat with a good friend of mine, who was also busy training Mining, on a different world. :)

The rest of my F2P skills are all in the 70s or 80s, except for Fletching, which currently stands at 52.

Tonight I reached Fletching level 53! :)

In part, I got to this level by making 20 steel crossbows. I had never made crossbows before. After gathering raw beef from fallen cows to make sinew, buying teak logs to fletch into stocks, smithing the steel arms, and then finally assembling all the pieces into crossbows, I learned something about myself - I do not like making crossbows. :p

One more level, and then I will be able to create mithril bolts!

At the moment, I now have 500 of those maple shieldbows in the bank. Once I get around to putting strings on them, that should earn me a good chunk of XP!

Tonight, I strung 200 more of those unstrung maple shieldbows, leaving 500 still to do. I also made 500 sapphire bolts and 1200 emerald bolts. This got me to Fletching level 59! :)

One more level and I can create adamant arrows!

Yesterday, I made 100 more of those maple shieldbows, and tonight I made another 100. I also made 3600 headless arrows. All of this got me to Fletching level 60! :)

Later tonight, since I could now make adamant arrows, I crafted 3600 of them, which got me to Fletching level 61! :)

I can now fletch adamant bolts - and you know I will! I suppose I will also upgrade my crossbow to an addy one...at some point.

Tonight, after making 250 more maple shieldbows and 1200 adamant bolts, I reached Fletching level 62! :)

It also helped that last night I went ahead and crafted nine adamant crossbows. I kept one and sold the rest on the G.E. That's the only part about fletching crossbows I really like - selling them! :p

Last night, after making 2800 more headless arrows, 1000 mithril arrows, and 500 adamant bolts, I reached Fletching level 63! :)

Afterwards, I made 1000 adamant arrows, 40 mithril grapples, and 324 ruby tips(now that I can craft those).

Yesterday, I received a Fletching challenge, to make 336 maple shieldbows. I worked on that this morning. After I fletched all 336 shieldbows(u), I began to string them. After stringing #122, I reached Fletching level 64! :)

I finished stringing the rest of the maple shieldbows, then redeemed the challenge to receive my rewards. I got a mystery bag containing 15 uncut dragonstones and 3,072 coins. I was also granted 45,262 XP in Fletching, which was more than enough to get me to level 65! :)

I can now make diamond bolts! Now I have to find a decent source of diamonds. I rarely find them in geodes and never seem to obtain them by mining uncommon gem rocks!

Tonight, after spending the past few days making 150 adamant arrows and 2800 adamant bolts, I reached Fletching level 67! :)

Afterwards, I made 150 additional adamant arrows, and 200 more adamant bolts. I sold the arrows for feathers. The bolts I added to my bank. Currently, I have 5000 of those. Once I have enough ruby and diamond bolt tips, these will become ruby and diamond bolts.

Rubies are easy enough to find, but uncut diamonds are another matter. It appears the resource dungeon in Al-Kharid will be a good source for both gems. However, that requires Dungeoneering level 75 to enter, and my Dungeoneering level is only 72, so it looks like I'm going to be doing some DG training before too long! O_o

Damn.

I didn't gain any levels this April 1st - no fooling! :p

However, I did for the first time ever mine a crashed star! As I was headed towards the gem rocks at the Al-Kharid mining site, I saw this large, odd-looking rock right in the middle of the mining area, where there normally is no rock. When I saw what it was, I began mining it right away. Another guy was already there mining it. Later on, someone else joined in. The star was a size 3 when I started. When we broke through the core, I spoke with the star sprite we had rescued. I was awarded:

152 cosmic runes
52 astral runes
20 gold stone spirits
50,002 coins
a 15-minute mining buff, granting double ores while mining

I also got quite a bit of Mining XP. :)

Afterwards, I worked on a Fletching challenge: 336 yew shortbows O_o

I have all the parts. I just have to string the unstrung shortbows - all 336 of them - and I can claim the reward. I completed a challenge once to fletch 336 maple shieldbows, which granted me over 45,000 XP. These yew shortbows should bring me a lot of Fletching XP, enough to gain at least one level! I'll be finishing that later today. We'll see how it goes!

Oh, and after doing a bit of Dungeoneering over the weekend, I remembered all the reasons why I hate this skill! The Al-Kharid resource dungeon is just going to have to wait a while longer...probably a LOT longer!

I just finished Fletching those 336 yew shortbows, which got me 7375 XP away from Fletching level 68! When I turned them in for my reward, I was granted 45,262 XP - which not only got me to level 68, but I am now only 25,131 XP from Fletching 69! I will then be able to make runite bolts and crossbows. :)

In the mystery bag, I received 18 reinforced dragon bones and 8004 coins.

Thank you very much, River! Nice name, by the way. I am a long-time Whovian, so I appreciate the reference! In fact, as I reveal on page 1 of this thread, my own screen name was inspired by the Doctor Who comic strip. :)

However, my RS anniversary is on the 4th of September, not April. I have exactly 5 months to go before I can claim that 15-year cape. I am looking forward to that!

No problemo! Yeah, I started watching the classic Tom Baker episodes when I was a kid on the local PBS stations. I kept watching through Peter Davison and The Doctors who followed him. I also managed to catch up on the first three Doctors' stories. I've seen all the episodes which still exist, up to Peter Capaldi's final season. So far, I've only watched the first three episodes from that season, plus the Christmas story. Some day I'll catch up. My sister recorded the entire season for me. :)

Someone over at Forum Games started calling me "Dalek Killer"! Hahaha! :p

Yes, from what I've read, the 15 Year Cape is pretty cool. I read that it is Best In Slot as far as capes available to F2P go. The cape's emote looks epic, and the cape itself looks nice too. I liked the 5 Year Cape's design, but the 10 Year Cape is kind of...loud, like something The 6th Doctor would wear! :p

This morning, I completed a Fletching challenge: 336 yew shortbows

Before I had finished fletching the unstrung shortbows, I reached Fletching level 69! :)

Once I had finished stringing these yew shortbows, I was only 42,707 XP away from Fletching level 70. Turning in this challenge granted me 45,262 XP, more than enough to reach Fletching level 70! Now all my F2P skills are in the 70s or 80s, aside from Mining and Smithing, both of which are in the 90s! :)

Inside the challenge mystery bag, I found 51 water talismans and 2,688 coins.

I can now make runite bolts and rune crossbows! :D

Also, late last night I got the silver hawk pet from an antique chest. My pet list has been updated to include this new addition. :)

The funny thing is, once I finished mining the iron, I ran straight over to start mining Luminite, where I was immediately hit by a pulse core blast! Oh, what timing! :p

Tonight, I turned in a challenge to fletch 336 yew shieldbows. After I had made roughly half of them, I had reached Fletching level 71! :) The 45,262 XP I got as a reward got me fairly close to the next level.

The challenge mystery bag contained 584 coins and 290 mahogany planks. Those sold quite well on the Grand Exchange! :D

My Total Level is currently 1444. I expect the next skill I level up will be one of my lowest skills, probably either Dungeoneering or Fletching. In both of these, I am currently a little over 12,000 XP from leveling. :)

Thanks Threes! Last night, I got one step closer. As I predicted, I managed to level one of my lowest skills. I reached Dungeoneering level 73! :) I did it through actual Dungeoneering too, not just using lamps - although those did help along the way. :p

While training DG last night, I replaced my bound fractite platebody with a freshly smithed zephyrium version. When I cashed out everything at the end, I was about 1,800 rusty coins short of being able to buy one more zeph ore, which I'd hoped to do in order to upgrade my pickaxe. Maybe next time, though first I'd like to upgrade my bound platelegs from fractite to zephyrium. I also want to replace my bound fractite helm with a zephyrium longsword. After I upgrade my pickaxe, I can do the same with my hatchet. Then, I'd only need to find six zeph ores per dungeon to get to max gear, unless I find an argonite item to use. Worst case, I'd be stuck with a fractite/zephyrium mix of gear, which should be more than a match for any DG boss in F2P - at least the ones I have fought so far.

Last night, I fought a level 102 skeleton. I was using a novite longsword and an off-hand argonite rapier! Sure, I won but it took longer than it should have! :o

Now I only have two more DG levels to get before I can gain access to the Al-Kharid resource dungeon! :)

Nice work, Holly. Ashe is nearly there. Last I knew, she was at level 47.

Speaking of leveling Dungeoneering...

About an hour ago, I got to DG level 74! :) Only one more level to reach until I can finally access the Al Kharid resource dungeon! This will provide me with a good source of uncut diamonds, which I'll need to fletch diamond bolts.

Since this is the final reward unlocked through F2P Dungeoneering, once I attain that goal, I can be DONE with DG! :D

All of that changed on 7 January 2019 as part of the Mining & Smithing rework:

The resource dungeon in the Al Kharid mine was open to F2P. However, you need DG level 75 to access it.

There are now several types of gem rocks located at the Al Kharid mine that are F2P! Anyone can mine common gem rocks for lapis lazuli, opal, jade, and red topaz gems. There are also uncommon gem rocks that yield sapphires, emeralds, and rubies, but to mine these you need at least level 20 Mining.

Inside the Al Kharid resource dungeon, there are precious gem rocks. These contain emeralds, rubies, and diamonds, but you need Mining 25 or more to mine them.

See what you miss when you spend all your time on DG! :p

^ Thanks! Yes, the time draws closer and closer...

Tonight, while working towards level 75 Dungeoneering, I trained Fletching quite a bit. I even bought 6 bovistrangler branches with the rusty coins I had after completing another dungeon, and fletched those into traps. When I left Daemonheim tonight, I was 201 XP away from Fletching level 72.

I turned in my daily challenge, which was to complete a DG floor on Complexity 6. This gave me over 42,000 XP in Dungeoneering, so now I am just over 50,300 XP short of my goal of DG 75! Afterwards, I picked 12 flax in Taverley, and Crafted them into bowstrings. Then I teleported to Lumbridge. There, I claimed my free hamper of food from the Lumbridge Castle Cook, then ran to the roof and collected logs. I fletched and strung 8 shieldbows, and fletched 4 more unstrung shieldbows. This got me 1 XP away from the next Fletching level! However, I still had 4 bowstrings left. Stringing those bowshields put me over the threshold of Fletching level 72 by 39 XP! :)

Fletching is now in a three-way tie for my lowest-ranked F2P skill, along with Firemaking and Woodcutting. I have three other skills in the 70s: Crafting and Dungeoneering at level 74, plus Prayer at level 76. The rest are in the 80s and 90s.

Also today, I finished upgrading all my DG armor to argonite, after finding and binding a nice pair of argonite gauntlets. I also found another argonite 2h sword - and this time when I bound it to me, it actually went into the bind pool! It's in there, along with an argonite spear and my dual zephyrium longswords. Still no luck in finding an argonite hatchet or pickaxe. I also haven't found any of those three journals from the first 30 floors I've been lacking.

More Dungeoneering this weekend, I suppose. Bah.

This afternoon, while Dungeoneering, I reached Woodcutting level 73! :)

While doing more DG tonight, I reached Firemaking level 73! :)

This brings my Total Level to 1449. I expect my next level gain will be Dungeoneering level 75, at long last! I reckon three more decent raids should do the trick.

Today I also finished fully upgrading all my bind pool items to argonite after finding an off-hand argonite longsword! I destroyed both my zephyrium longswords to make room. Now I have all 5 argonite armor items bound, along with the pair of longswords, a 2h sword, and a spear. I have one free spot left in the bind pool. If I find an argonite maul, I think that's what I'll put there.

No, I don't bother with mage or ranged during DG. I barely train those outside of DG. :p

Last night, I came SO close to getting Dungeoneering level 75 - when I finished for the night, I was only 87 XP away from attaining that goal! O_o

Tonight, I got it! :)

Finally, I can be done with DG! In addition to unlocking the last resource dungeon open to F2P, the Al Kharid hidden mine, I also unlocked floor 38. Not that it'll do me any good, since F2P cannot venture below floor 35.

I later went to the Al Kharid mine, and entered the resource dungeon there. This granted me 11,400 DG XP. I mined the precious gem rocks, and got quite a few diamonds during the two trips I made there. Naturally, I also found quite a few more emeralds and rubies.

Now I can focus on fixing my XP totals for Fishing/Cooking and Firemaking/Woodcutting. I also need to raise Attack and Defence, to bring those back in line with my Strength, which got unevenly raised from opening all those wretched force-bar barred doors.

I never did find and bind that argonite maul. I also didn't track down those three missing journals. Ah well, the important thing is I reached my goal of DG level 75! No more F2P unlocks to gain - I'm done! :D

Tonight, while working on stage 2 of the Breaking the Storm event, I got my Smithing up to level 95! :) I did it by forging 2475 iron rivets. I stopped after I had made 3006 rivets.

This event was pretty crowded, and someone hit me with a pulse core blast, giving me a 2% XP boost on top of the 10% XP boost we get just for training at this event. That certainly helped me get this level, but the XP rates are kind of insane to begin with - and I didn't even use a boost brew to activate double XP either, even though I have two in the bank (the free one, plus one I got in the first event mystery box, along with a prismatic small star and a medium phoenix lamp, which I got to use twice and which also unlocked the phoenix aura for me).

It's just too bad F2P cannot use the rivets for anything, or trade them, or hand them in for a reward. Right now, they just take up an inventory space. Bah.

While we were making the rivets, someone claimed to have seen a shark swim along the coast, from south to north, then swim out to sea. I never saw the shark. Neither did anyone else. Most likely, someone was just bored.

Those are the riveting details from tonight! :p

Congratulations on reaching your 75 dg goal, Aslon! I'm glad you mentioned the precious gem rocks of Al Kharid - I didn't know they were available in F2P. Sounds like a good place. I'll see if I can get a diamond ring done for Anja :)

I wish you all the best!

Thank you so much, Jokku! :)

Yes, those precious gem rocks are available to all who have DG 75 or higher. During an average run, I've been finding 3 to 6 diamonds each trip, with the rest being emeralds and rubies. On my worst run, I found only one diamond.

You should have no problem getting at least one diamond from the Al Kharid resource dungeon. I have a feeling Anja will love a diamond ring, especially so because it would be from you, Jokku. I wish you and your lady all the best! Cheers!

Late last night, while working on stage 3 of the Breaking the Storm event, I reached Magic level 82! :) I also went over 10,000 boat materials, so I am more than halfway done with this event. I have only 4 rewards left to claim: at 12,000/14,000/17,000/20,000 - if I decide to go for the pet and the title. I probably will.

Tonight I did a lot of skilling at the Breaking The Storm event. I spent some time smithing (phase 2), but the majority of my time was used at phase 3 to get Magic level 83! :)

I earned just over 2,000 boat materials tonight, which was enough to claim the next reward, which was the big event mystery box. Inside I found two prismatic medium stars, a spirit ruby, a small prismatic lamp, and a medium bubbling lamp. I had hoped for another phoenix lamp, like last time. Also, another boost brew would've been nice. I'll just have to settle for using the two I have before the event ends. I am NOT going to waste 45 RuneCoins to buy a third boost brew! No chance.

Only three rewards left to earn - the Varrock flag resting emote(14,000), the pet(17,000), and the title(20,000). If I can keep up the pace, or close to it, I should be able to claim them all before the event is over.

^ Threes, I may have caught some of your laziness, as I did very little skilling on Sunday or Monday! :o I did do enough on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning to bring my total of boat materials handed in to 14,038. This unlocked event reward 8 of 10, the Varrock Flag Rest Animation. Only the pet and title yet to claim. To earn these, and to complete the event, I only need to hand in 5,962 more boat materials. I have 1006 on hand.

This evening, while doing more training at phase 3 of the event, I raised Magic to level 84! :)

My total level is now 1454, and I have over 60M XP! :D

Tonight I worked on Crafting, Magic, and Smithing at the Breaking The Storm event. While I did not gain any new levels, I did earn and turn in enough boat materials, a total of 17,006, to claim the 9th reward: the Mordaut Jr. pet. :) There's a nice little bit of dialog between you and the dragons which you unlock after you've claimed the pet.

I have to turn in 2994 more boat materials in order to complete this event, and to claim the 10th and final reward - the Stormbreaker title, at 20,000 boat materials. I have family events going on this Saturday and Sunday, including my own birthday on Saturday, so I may not have the time to finish the event before it ends. If I don't, no big deal. Titles don't mean much to me anyway. I use the "Of Gielinor" title in-game. The only other title that would've been cool to have is "Of Guthix". Ah well. I have 44 boat materials in my currency pouch right now - only 2950 more to find! Maybe I'll find them, maybe I won't. In any case, I've made some good level gains during this event! :)

Once I've posted this, I'll go back a couple of pages and update my list of pets to include Mordaut Jr. My total number of pets is now at 30! It's a good thing they all get along with one another! O_o

Well, I didn't have as much time as I would've liked to work on the Breaking The Storm event this weekend, and so I failed to complete the event before it ended. Out of the 2,994 boat materials I had left to turn in, I found only 1,231. Instead of turning them in, since I wouldn't have had enough anyway, I opted to convert 1,000 materials to mystery boxes. These gave me a total of 3 medium prismatic stars, a medium smoldering lamp, and 2 boxes of Dungeoneering tokens (1 small and 1 medium).

I wouldn't say the day was a total waste, however. Early Sunday morning I managed to get Crafting level 75! Early Sunday evening, shortly before the event ended, I reached magic level 85! During that final hour, I also used 5 melee combat training dummies to get my combat stats - Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength - closer to level 90! I need only 82,000 XP more to get there, except for Con. In that skill, I am 78,000 XP away from level 90!

I spent the final 10 minutes or so working on Smithing. Although I have over 400,000 XP still to get before I reach Smithing 96, I am roughly halfway there. Maybe I will reach that goal during DXP Weekend, coming up in just under three weeks. If I can find more protean bars in time for that, it should be possible!

After the event ended and the game reset, I completed a daily challenge in the RuneSpan. This got me to Runecrafting level 84!

So I couldn't claim the "Stormbreaker" title...but I did get three more skill levels, plus I made decent progress in five others. Not a bad trade-off. :)

This evening, I completed a daily challenge, which was to make 39 meat pizzas. Turning in this challenge granted me 54,765 XP, which was more than enough to get me to Cooking level 88! :)

Inside the challenge mystery bag, I found 77 mahogany planks and 758 coins.

Now I have to raise my Fishing level from 87 to 88 as well - perhaps during 1.2XP Weekend.

^ Thanks Threes! I don't train my Cooking very often, outside of DG.

This evening, I kicked off 1.2XP Weekend by using pulse cores and 340 protean hides to get Crafting level 76! :)

I also did a little bit of Mining after maintaining the 10% boost from the pulse cores, followed by quite a bit of protean elder rune smithing. I still have a ways to go before leveling Mining, but gaining another Smithing level soon looks likely! :D

^ Threes, you're training Laziness. :p

Well, that didn't take long at all! Late tonight, I did some more protean elder rune smithing. When combined with pulse cores and BXP, this grants amazing XP rates! I used 340 protean bars to reach Smithing level 96! :) I earned an additional 100k or so XP after gaining the level. I still have 500 protean bars I haven't used yet.

I also did some combat training. Soon, I should be gaining a level in Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength. This should also raise my Combat Level.

Early this evening, before the skill-off event ended, I jumped back into the Hole one final time - and managed to reach Dungeoneering level 80! :)

I stayed there a little longer after leveling, just so I could hit the 2M mark. I ended up with 2,000,706 Dungeoneering XP, to be exact.

As I traditionally do when I am close to gaining a combat level, on Sunday night and early Monday morning I went around to visit some of my best enemies, allowing them to contribute towards my goal.

I used the Skull Sceptre to teleport directly to the shades on level 4 of the SoS. After fighting those for a bit, I teleported to Varrock and fought some dark wizards. Then I entered the Varrock sewers to battle some deadly reds. This got my melee combat stats very close to the next level. I needed about 88 XP to level Attack, Defence, and Strength. However, I needed nearly 1000 XP more than that to level Constitution. So I teleported from the sewers to Al Kharid, where I grabbed my bow from the bank, then ran to the mine to range some scorpions. After using Ranged to kill about 90 scorpions, my Constitution was brought up to match my Attack, Defence, and Strength. Once this was done, I switched back to using my longswords and put my melee armor back on. I was ready for the final step.

Using melee to kill a few more scorps before I decided to stop for sleep, I left with ATT only 11 XP away, DEF and STR at 13 XP away, and CON at 15 XP away. I returned early Monday evening to finish what I had started.

I one-hit killed the first scorpion. This was just enough to get me Attack level 90 and Combat Level 112! :) DEF and STR were 3 XP from the next level, while CON was 5 XP away. I slew another scorp. This got me Constitution, Defence, and Strength level 90, as well as Combat Level 113! :D After killing a few more scorps for fun, I opted to use the six medium phoenix lamps I had collected over the past week. I used one each on ATT/CON/DEF/STR and two on Ranged, which is now slightly over 9k XP from the next level. None of the six lamps were saved after a single use. O_o

My Total Level is now 1470. My RuneScore is now 2005.

^Thank you Threes! Glad you enjoyed it.

Tonight, I had a balloon drop all to myself near the Al Kharid lodestone. Of the 10 balloons I popped, 8 of them had summery food in them. One cf them contained a medium prismatic star, which I used on Smithing, since that's where all my BXP goes. One balloon contained a small prismatic lamp, which I used to get Ranged level 83! :)

Then I completed a daily challenge to make 336 yew shieldbows. With the +25% boost to Fletching XP currently active, making and stringing these bows got me quite close to gaining a level - when I turned in the completed challenge, I was only 5,908 XP away.

My reward was 45,262 XP, way more than I needed to reach Fletching level 73! :) Once again, Fletching is tied with Firemaking and Woodcutting as my lowest skills. I have two other skills in the 70s...Crafting and Prayer, both at level 76. Of my remaining 12 F2P skills, 6 are in the 80s, and the other 6 are in the 90s.

The challenge mystery bag contained 53 marigolds and 1,868 coins.

This afternoon, while obtaining precious gems in the Al Kharid resource dungeon, I reached Mining level 92! :)

Doing this completed the achievement Mining 92 (Halfway There), which added 5 points to my RuneScore, which is now at 2010.

I've almost completed all the achievements I am able to, aside from some based on skill milestones and anything to do with group dungeoneering. I haven't earned a cat-training medal from Gertrude though. My kitten is not good at catching rats. Not at all! :p

Last night - or was that tonight - I used a shining prismatic medium lamp I had left over from the previous promotion to gain some Fletching XP. This lamp doubled the usual XP granted. I got just over 20k XP from that lamp, which was more than 14k more than I needed to reach Fletching level 74! :) One more level until I can make rune arrows!

I used the other shining prismatic medium lamp I had in my pack to gain over 11k Prayer XP. No doubling bonus to XP this time, and no level gained. My Total Level is now at 1476.

I also spoke with Hans last night - or was that tonight - and finally claimed from him the 15 year Veteran Cape! :D The emote is pretty cool, and the bottom of the cape itself appears to be on fire! O_o

Thank you everyone! Congrats on your own achievements!

Late last night, I completed a daily challenge to make 336 yew shortbows. Doing this got me to 32,586 XP away from gaining the next level. Turning in the shortbows to redeem the challenge earned me 45,262 XP, which got me to Fletching level 75! :)

The challenge mystery bag contained 179 raw rocktails and 1,090 coins. I later sold the rocktails at The Grand Exchange for 343,501 coins.

As I could now fletch rune arrows, I celebrated the level gain by making 3,750 of them, bringing the total of rune arrows I have in the bank to 4,000. This got me to 66,470 XP away from the next Fletching level!

All this Fletching XP put me over the 65M mark in Total XP. My Total Level is now 1477.

Tonight I received and redeemed another Fletching daily challenge. This time, the task was to make 336 yew shieldbows. I already had 336 unstrung shieldbows and 210 bowstrings stashed in my bank, so I only had to craft an additional 126 bowstrings, then string the bows. After I had strung 275 yew shieldbows, I reached Fletching level 76! :) Once I had strung all 336 of them, I was 134,505 XP away from reaching the next level.

Turning in this challenge awarded me 45,262 XP in Fletching. I am now just 89,242 XP away from the next level. I reckon another Fletching challenge, plus making some more rune arrows, should do the job.

The challenge mystery bag contained 421 mahogany planks and 581 coins. I sold the planks at The Grand Exchange for 356,587 coins.

My Total Level is now 1478.

Last night, I received another daily challenge to fletch 336 yew shieldbows. Since completing this challenge the last time, I had made 3,000 rune arrows.

After completing this challenge tonight, I was a mere 1,342 XP away from the next level gain. Turning in this challenge awarded me the usual 45,262 XP, getting me to Fletching level 77! :) I am 109,699 XP away from the next level.

The challenge mystery bag contained 478 mahogany planks and 200 coins. I sold the planks on the G.E. for 370,450 coins.

I also received 86 Charity Tokens.

The Mental Health Awareness event has just ended.

As expected, I did not grind my way to 10,000 Charity Tokens over the six days of the event. I have turned in 5,034 tokens, so I received the first of the two Big Event Boxes, plus the Brain Plushie. I still have 198 tokens in my currency pouch, which is not enough to convert to event boxes. I won't get anything for handing in these tokens, so I might as well leave them in the pouch until they are converted to coins.

I didn't gain any levels by rubbing the 18 small XP lamps I got by answering the three daily questions, but I made decent progress in Melee, Magic, Prayer, and Ranged.

I would've played more, but I was looking out for my mental health. :p

Tonight, after using a small and a medium hydra lamp on my Crafting and Prayer, I reached Prayer level 78! :) My Total Level is now 1480.

Late tonight, I also completed a Summoning challenge, to create 10 dreadfowl pouches. I've done this many times before. This time, however, I managed to complete this challenge without killing a single chicken!

After collecting the required 10 gold charms, 10 pouches, and 80 spirit shards, I went into the Burthorpe troll cave. There I collected 5 raw chickens as drops, along with 310 air runes, 50 potato seeds, 10 onion seeds, 9 grimy guam, plus 2 additional gold charms. I also buried a lot of bones. With my pack full, I left to deposit the runes, seeds, guam, and the 2 extra charms in the bank, then I walked south. When I reached the chicken farm, I saw there was a CL 5 player there training on the chickens. A moment later, raw chickens began to appear. I went in, collected the other 5 I needed, then continued south. I created the 10 pouches, then returned to Burthorpe for my reward.

The challenge mystery bag contained 11 mahogany planks and 800 coins. I'll sell the planks at the G.E. the next time I'm there.

Tuesday evening, I decided to check off a few more Daemonheim achievements by walking there through The Wilderness, which was one of the tasks I completed, along with crafting law runes while in a dungeon and wearing a full set of tier 1 armor. That last one I did after killing a very easy boss to defeat on Floor 11. While Dungeoneering, I wore argonite plate, legs, and boots while dual-wielding a pair of argonite longswords. I made a zeph helm and gauntlets. No level gain, however, after leaving the dungeon, I decided to enter another one, just to see what the starting items were. I saw the argonite maul that had eluded me for quite some time, so I grabbed it and added the maul to my bind pool! I now have a full set of argonite armor, plus an argonite 2-h sword, main and off-hand longswords, spear, and maul all available as bound items.

Of course, going Dungeoneering threw off my nice equal Firemaking and Woodcutting stats, so I took advantage of the chaos and completed a Woodcutting challenge late last night, by cutting 55 yew logs. Early this morning, I completed a Firemaking challenge, to burn 320 yew logs. I only had 15 more to burn, when I reached Firemaking level 74! :) Redeeming the challenge earned me another 36,000 or so XP. Doing this challenge used up a large portion of the yew logs I had stashed in the bank for Fletching challenges. Therefore, it's a good thing I have a lot of Woodcutting I need to work on now! O_o

My Total Level is now 1482.

^ Yeah, but before I can do that, I'll need to get all my skills to 80+ first. I have five skills still currently in the 70s. One of them is Fletching.

A few days ago, I completed and redeemed another Fletching challenge to make 336 yew shieldbows. I made these at The Grand Exchange. By deploying 5 portable fletchers there, I earned some additional XP while making the bows. After I turned in the bows to receive my XP reward for this challenge, I was 6,363 XP away from gaining the next level.

This morning, after redeeming a Smithing challenge to make a piece of rune equipment, I took 30 protean logs from my bank, leaving me with 390 still in the bank. Fletching these 30 protean logs earned me 7,500 XP, which enabled me to reach Fletching level 78! :)

Once I gain two more levels in Fletching and in Prayer, I'll be left with only three skills still in the 70s.

I'm not sure how far I'll get before Jagex foolishly closes down their Java client. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get NTX to even work, or if I'll want to play while being forced to use it. From what I've read by many who have tried it, NXT is horribly slow and areas from before 2017 look worse in NXT than they ever did in Java. I understand the lighting in particular looks ridiculous. As far as draw distance goes, I have no interest in seeing Taverley from Lumbridge. I'd much rather have a game that runs without frequent freezing and crashes.

Jagex themselves admit NXT still has problems, yet they still intend to ram it down all our throats. If you believe the propaganda that claims 96% of all players use and love NXT, I have a bridge in Ashdale to sell you.

This was a nice start to 1.2XP Weekend: Extended, which began today at 7am my time. Of course, I was asleep at that time! :p I have to say I am liking how Jagex is doing 1.2XP Weekend this time around, giving players 36 hours of BXP-burning time to use over 10 days. :)

After training combat for a bit at the Warriors' Guild, where I found a second mithril defender and two adamant defenders by killing cyclopes, I went to the Artisans' Workshop, where I worked on my Smithing. First, I grabbed all 490 protean bars and 40 protean hides I had in my bank, plus 15 advanced pulse cores and 18 cinder cores. Wearing the pulse cores, I got some Crafting XP, enough to where I am just over 10k XP from the next level. This also triggered the +2% XP bonus. Next, I made 10 rune off-hand scimitars. This used up a little of my BXP, all of which is on Smithing. I started today with over 1.7 million BXP in Smithing. Then I switched to using protean bars while wearing the cinder cores. Since I am able to do protean elder rune smithing, the +250% BXP burn rate provided me with AMAZING XP gains! I quickly got the +10% bonus to the BXP burn rate. While that buff remained in effect, I swapped the cinder cores for the pulse cores, and then quickly earned the +10% buff to earned XP. By alternating the two types of cores used, I managed to extend their lives and keep both buffs active for a long time. This method earned me UNBELIEVABLE XP rates, and it was enough to get me to Smithing level 98! :)

By this time, I used up all my cinder cores and I had 5 pulse cores left. After the level gain, I banked the remaining pulse cores and the 60 protean bars I hadn't used. Then I went back to the anvil and made 10 more rune off-hand scimitars. I now have 60 of those in my bank.

I burned roughly half a million BXP in Smithing this evening! :O I am a little more than 1.1 million XP from reaching Smithing level 99!

My Total Level is now 1484.

^ It is indeed! :)

On Saturday, I received a Fletching challenge to make 336 yew shieldbows. I began working on this late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. I decided to stop after I had fletched 311 unstrung bows, which left me 21 XP short of gaining the next level. O_o

Early Sunday evening, I made the remaining 25 unstrung bows, then I strung all 336 yew shieldbows. As soon as I had made unstrung bow #312, I reached Fletching level 79! :) Redeeming this challenge earned me 45,262 XP. With the extra XP from 1.2XP Weekend: Extended added in, this left me 109,529 XP away from level 80! Then I will be able to make magic shortbows! However, where can F2P get magic logs, aside from buying them on the Grand Exchange? That could prove to be expensive.

Speaking of money, the challenge mystery bag contained 431 mahogany planks and 810 coins. I sold the planks at the G.E. for 369,798 coins. Maybe now is the time to start stocking up on magic logs. :p

Early this morning, I worked on a Yak Track Fletching task. The goal is to make 500 maple shieldbows. I didn't have enough bowstrings in my bank, but I had 550 flax stored up, so I spun all of it into bowstrings. After making string #121, I reached Crafting level 77! :)

I'm pretty sure this won't get me to the next Fletching level when I am done, but it should get me somewhat close...less than one daily Fletching challenge, I believe. I still have 66 unstrung bows to add strings to, but I'll wait until later today to finish those up, as I am pretty tired right now, and RS is already nagging me to take a break anyway. :P

On Wednesday night, I mined some luminite and some runite ore. In part, because I wanted to stockpile more of both these ores to use during Yak Track Smelting tasks, in part because I was working on a Yak Track Mining task (mine 180 runite ores), and because I was a little over 100k XP away from the next Mining level. After I mined the 180 runite ores to complete the task, I continued to mine runite. After obtaining four additional ores, I reached Mining level 93! :)

Early this morning, I completed a couple more Yak Track tasks, including one to smith 50 rune items, and a Firemaking task to burn 450 maple logs. I visited the Daemonheim resource dungeon to chop the maple trees, then burn the logs. It was a time-consuming task, and I stopped partway through to take several full inventories of maple logs to the bank in Al Kharid. Then I'd take the boat back to Daemonheim to return to chopping and burning more maples. After I had burned maple log #411, I got Firemaking level 75! :) After burning a couple more logs, I chopped more maple trees. 22 logs later, I reached Woodcutting level 75! :) Now I can burn magic logs and chop evil magic trees, according to the guides, but I cannot chop regular, non-evil magic trees, as those are P2P. How does that make sense? O_o

My Total Level is now 1490. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Today I gained two more skill levels!

Last night, I was working on Smithing until my 1.2XP timer ran out a few minutes before Midnight. Using 75 protean bars I purchased with oddments, I got to only 9,976 XP away from 99 Smithing! Then I smithed 300 rune arrowheads before switching to Fletching very early this morning. After making 3,000 rune arrows, I reached Fletching level 80! :) I can now make magic shortbows. Also, I now have only four F2P skills that are lower than 80: Prayer(79), Crafting(77), Firemaking(75), and Woodcutting(75).

Next I entered the RuneSpan to complete Yak Track task #17 by crafting 520 body runes. This cleared the way for me to work on task #18 - to smith 50 rune items.

Returning to the Artisans' Workshop, I began smithing more rune arrowheads. I made 20 sets of arrowheads, 1,500 of them, before logging off to get some sleep. This afternoon, I finished smithing the remaining sets for 3,750 rune arrowheads. I made two extra sets, to round off the total to 3,900 arrowheads. As I smithed the 36th set, for 2,700 rune arrowheads, I managed to reach Smithing level 99!! :D My first ever 99! All done as F2P! The in-game message "News: Aslon Dak has achieved 99 Smithing." was nice to see as a world broadcast, and I enjoyed the musical fanfare and the fireworks. :)

It was weird to not see the XP needed for the next level under Smithing on the Skills tab. I decided I didn't like the looks of that, so I switched on virtual leveling, as the game suggested. Now I can see when I will reach Smithing virtual level 100! :P

Speaking of impossible things, who do I talk to about getting a Smithing "skillcape"? :P Exactly...which is why I refer to them as "membercapes".

These are now tied with Crafting for my three lowest F2P skills.

My Total Level is 1497. Will I reach 1500 before the Javapocalypse? O_o

Late Friday night, while still working on Yak Track task #28, described in my previous post, I raised both Firemaking and Woodcutting to level 78! :)

Crafting is now my lowest F2P skill, at level 77.

My Total Level is now 1499...so close!

Thank Guthix I am nearly finished with this Firemaking task! It appears I will complete it before gaining the next level in Firemaking or Woodcutting. My next level gain, to get me to 1500, will most likely be in either Prayer or in Runecrafting.

Well, I did it!

Late Sunday night, about a quarter to Midnight, I managed to bury enough big bones, donated by all those hill giants I killed, to reach Prayer level 80! :)

This also brought my Total Level to 1500! There was quite a display of music and fireworks in the giants' cave to mark the moment! :D

Now all my F2P skills are at 80+, except for three: Firemaking, Woodcutting, and Crafting.

I had three bubbling lamps in my pack after opening my advent present and then using my daily TH key. Even using just the small lamp would've easily gotten me to 80 Prayer, since I only needed 1,160 XP to gain the level. However, I chose to not take the easy way of reaching the Total Level 1500 milestone. I worked to earn it, and earn it I did! I decided to use all three of those bubbling lamps to gain Crafting XP. :P

Also on Sunday evening, I downloaded and ran NXT for the first time. Initial assessment: Mostly Harmless. ;) My new laptop (well, it was new last year) handled the download perfectly fine. The game is running well so far. No lag, crashes, or black screens when entering a new area. Loading the scenery following teleporting to an area for the first time is a bit rough, as the surrounding area appears bit by bit. Teleporting back to the area again results in the scenery appearing almost instantly. Some textures took their time to appear, and some haven't yet arrived at all. Hopefully this will improve. Maybe I just have to adjust the settings some more. We shall see. At least I can continue to play after the Javapocalypse!

The game world doesn't look too different from how it looked in Java. The flame effects on my longswords and along the bottom of my veteran cape do look more impressive in NXT. However, I think chi-blast mining looked better in Java. In NXT, it appears slow. The skill seems to function the same. Only the skilling override looks sluggish and less impressive.

Once I post this, I will update my list of pets to include Merry, the yeti.

This afternoon, I went to the RuneSpan and there I completed Yak Track task #30, which was to craft 850 body runes. I did this with the help of nine fleshy growth nodes, which conveniently appeared from the moment I arrived on the middle floor of the RuneSpan. After I had siphoned body rune #511, I reached Runecrafting level 85! :)

My RC level is now equal to my Magic level.

My Total Level is 1501.

Early this morning, I gained three more levels! :D

While cutting yews and burning yew logs for Yak Track task #38 - to burn 1,800 logs of mahogany, yew, or magic - I raised Firemaking and Woodcutting to level 80! :) Each of these gains added 5 points to my RuneScore, which is now at 2090.

I also made three trips to the resource dungeon in the Al Kharid mine, in order to mine the precious gem rocks. Then I cut the emeralds, rubies, and diamonds for Crafting XP. On my third trip, I found 12 diamonds, 10 rubies, and 6 emeralds. I began cutting the diamonds first, for once. After the fourth diamond, I reached Crafting level 78! :)

Crafting is still my lowest F2P skill, and now it is my only one below level 80.

My Total Level is now 1506.

Merry Christmas everyone! :D

^Thanks Threes! I hope Santa was good to you.

Late Christmas night, I finally finished Yak Track task #38, described in my previous post. I opted to save time by not training Woodcutting at the same time, for a change. Instead, I simply burned a lot of yew logs I'd had stored in the bank, right in front of the bank chest on the east side of Lumbridge Crater. This got me to Firemaking level 81! :)

Early Thursday morning, I went on to complete Yak Track task #39, which is more difficult in F2P as one of the task options - to cook fish on a campfire in Entrana - is impossible to do on free worlds because we cannot access that island. Therefore, we must either waste a skip token to complete this tier...or do the other task "option" - to perform the Panic emote at the deepest part of the F2P Wilderness (level 48). Guess which route I took. :P

Reaching the Wildy wall separating F2P and P2P Wilderness areas was uneventful. A wizard, a ghost, and a dragon showed some interest in me, but did not attack me. However, once I reached the end of F2P Wildy, my new wireless mouse stopped working! I was unable to move or do the emote! No, I wasn't teleblocked or bound in any way. I was simply a victim of a poor connection. After a minute or two, I got the mouse to function again, so I did the emote and ran back through the Wild. I stopped along the way to collect 5 planks, which I sold at the G.E. for 711 coins each.

Next I am doing a Mining task. That should prove to be an easy one for me.

Saturday afternoon, while killing some level 11 goblins west of Varrock, I finally obtained a rare drop which had somehow eluded me all these years: the Goblin Book! :D

I also completed Yak Track task #43 - to craft 1,000 body runes. Before teleporting out of the RuneSpan, I used my first skip token to bypass task #44 - the infamous Prayer/Cooking one. Buying 2,000 baby dragon/dragon bones on the G.E. did not appeal to me. Neither did making 2,250 anchovy pizzas. O_o

Saturday night I completed Yak Track task #45 - to mine 505 runite ores. Shortly after starting this task, when I had the first 20 ores to add to my ore box, I reached Mining level 95! :)

My Total Level is 1508.

After depositing the last of my ore into the metal bank, I used my second skip token to avoid having to do Yak Track task #46 - which was a choice between Firemaking or Fishing. Two tedious options.

Now I have only four tiers left to do, but no more skip tokens...and I refuse to waste money on a bond. Hopefully, there will be no P2P-only nonsense hidden within these last few tasks, requiring they be skipped to make it to the end. I think I should be good. My current task, #47, is to smith 95 rune items. After that will be another Mining task. No worries!

^ Yes indeed...but the end is in sight!

With exactly one hour left until the new year, and the new decade, I claimed the reward for completing Yak Track task #49 - to craft 1,000 body runes. Only one task remains to be done. Tier 50 can be completed either by doing 20 Dungeoneering floors, or by Smithing 100 rune items. Naturally, I'll be doing the Smithing task, thank you very much!

Happy New Year/Decade everyone! :D

On Friday night, I completed task #50 to finish the Yak Track!

I smithed 7500 rune arrowheads to complete the task of making 100 rune items. Some I had made in Varrock, but most were made in the Artisans' Workshop in Falador. After I had smithed 96 of the 100 sets of arrowheads, I decided to finish the task - and the Yak Track - in style. I teleported to Varrock, where I made one set of rune arrowheads. Next, I teleported to Lumbridge, where I crossed the river to where a low-level character was fighting goblins. I grabbed nine sets of bones and buried them to complete a Prayer challenge I had started earlier in the evening in Varrock by scattering 15 sets of impious ashes at the Grand Exchange, then burying the bones of an unfortunate guard slain by another player. The player fighting the goblins said to me "Nice cape!". I said "Thank you." and dashed back across the river to smith another set of arrowheads. Then I teleported to Taverley and ran north to smith rune item #99 in Burthorpe. Finally, I teleported back to Falador and ran to the Artisans' Workshop to smith the last set of arrowheads to finish the Yak Track!

I got the Dark Throne resting animation, a medium protean pack (which I used to get 150 protean hides), and three BXP stars (which I used to get over 138,000 BXP in Smithing).

Afterwards, I took part in several balloon drops to celebrate RuneScape's 19th anniversary. So far, I've found 4 celebration cakes, 10 candles, 3 fireworks, 2 plain pizzas, 2 cabbages, a small star, and about 50,000 coins. Happy Birthday RS! :D

Early Wednesday morning, I completed the miniquest Benedict's World Tour, part 1. As you may know, this miniquest could not be started while using the Java client, since it was created to show off the graphics of NXT. Benedict the nearsighted yak had trouble seeing if you have an honest face in Java. O_o

I found the 9 items scattered about the F2P area to earn the two small XP lamps and the large XP lamp. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the large lamp is able to be rubbed by free players! I used the large lamp to gain 15,920 XP in Woodcutting. The two small lamps gave me another 7,961 XP in Woodcutting. This left me a little over 1,200 XP away from the next level.

Then I teleported to Edgeville and began cutting yews. After I had chopped 8 yew logs, I had reached Woodcutting level 81! :)

My Total Level is 1509.

As I had emptied my backpack into my bank before cutting the yews, I went on to chop 20 more before banking the logs.

Congratulations on all of your glorious achievements! I wish you the best of luck on the rest of your journeys.

Thank you! :)

I have fond memories of when I first started playing RuneScape. I would run from town to town, gathering supplies wherever I could find them to stash in my bank. I had to learn which monsters I could beat, and which ones were best to avoid until I improved my stats and upgraded my gear. In those days there was no Grand Exchange, so you either made or found better armor/weapons, or you bought them from other players, from specialty shops, or from general stores. The general stores didn't have a personal inventory for each separate player as they do now. Back in the day, everyone could see every item any player sold to the store. It was often a good way to stock up on common items others would sell. On occasion, a wealthy higher-level player would sell an adamant item or even *gasp* a rune weapon or piece of armor! When you saw a prize like this suddenly appear for sale in a store, you had to be quick before someone else got it instead of you! Back then, it was common to see several players in the general store at once, especially the Varrock general store, all looking to make a profit or score some desired items. Sadly, since the G.E. came along, these stores became deserted. I still do business with them from time to time, but it's not as it once was.

A lot has changed in RS over the past 15+ years, but the most important aspect of the game has not changed: the fun. Explore the world, do everything that interests you, play at your own pace, make some friends along the way, but most importantly have fun!

Best of luck with your adventures. Happy 'Scaping! :)

Thank you kindly! :)

I posted on a thread over at General regarding aspirations for 2020. In short, my short-term goals for 2020 are:

- to raise Crafting from level 78 to 80, which will get all my F2P skills to 80 or better.

- to focus on Archaeology when that skill comes out, to reach the level cap ASAP.

I have some longer-term goals I might reach in 2020:

- to raise Mining to level 99.

- to complete Broken Home, so I can move on to do the only other F2P quest I've not yet completed: Missing Presumed Death.

- to gather 100 chronicle fragments to offer in exchange for the Of Guthix title. I have 12.

Good luck to you in your adventures in RS and on the forums! :)

Early Saturday morning, I made progress on two of the goals I mentioned in the previous post!

I made two trips to the Al Kharid resource dungeon, with an empty backpack, to mine emeralds, rubies, and diamonds. When my pack was full, I cut the gems. On my second trip, I got 18 emeralds, 3 rubies, and 7 diamonds. I cut the rubies first, then the diamonds. Just as I cut the last diamond, I managed to reach Crafting level 79! :) Now all I need to do is gain one more Crafting level to have all my F2P skills at or above level 80! After the gain, I went on to cut all those emeralds.

My Total Level is 1510.

Before teleporting to Al Kharid, I spent some time harvesting a LOT of pale wisps. This got me over 3600 pale energy but, more importantly, it also got me 6 additional chronicle fragments, bringing my total up to 18. This completed a daily Divination challenge as well. However, since I reached the level 5 skill cap in this skill - and all other P2P non-elite skills - years ago, redeeming this challenge did absolutely nothing for me, except to remove the completed challenge from my list.

Early Thursday morning, while training at Gunther's skilling stations in the Lumbridge Crater during the Winter Chill Off, I reached Fletching level 81! :)

Now my three lowest F2P skills are Crafting (at level 79) along with Dungeoneering and Prayer (both at level 80). All other skills are at 81 or better.

My Total Level is 1511.

Also, on Tuesday night, I managed to find one of the Crumpled letters. These items are found randomly while skilling during the Chill Off. I found the letter addressed to Gunther. It explains why he believes himself to be a wolpertinger, as well as who is responsible for his delusion. Not surprising information, but still it's nice to have confirmation. If you use the letter on Gunther, nothing interesting happens. Literally. :P

It hit me while I was at the Winter Chill Off this morning there may be more of a connection between two of the NPCs than what we know. As I ran past Norm, I suddenly realized his name is an anagram of Morn. Maybe it's a coincidence - but maybe it isn't. Perhaps Norm is a normal guy, but Morn is an abNORMal persona of his. In a similar way to how The Doctor sometimes meets other regenerations of himself on Doctor Who (yes, I said "him", as I reject Doctor Woke as non-canon), perhaps Norm and Morn are two aspects of the same person.

It would be like Jagex to hide a twist like this in plain sight. We shall see. Yes, we shall see.

Late Saturday night, I decided to do some fishing - something I rarely do these days.

After gathering two full inventories of swordfish and tuna, which I noted, on Karamja, I took a break to pick some bananas to take with me as I visited the lesser demons. They were not pleased to see me. I only received coins and ashes plus 10 death runes and 31 fire runes for drops. After I climbed out of there, I went back to the plantation to pick more bananas. Once my pack was full, I teleported to Al Kharid.

I banked everything, then withdrew the swordfish and tuna to cook them on the range north of the bank. This took two trips. After depositing the cooked fish, I teleported to Draynor Village.

From Draynor I ran south until I neared the Wizards' Tower. I then dove down to gather some tasty seaweed (I've not tasted it myself, so I don't know how tasty it truly is!) and to use the fishing spot unlocked by the Beneath Cursed Tides quest. This got me Fishing level 89! :)

I also got another sea cucumber to add to my collection. I'm not exactly sure why I've been keeping these items. My bank is a strange and wondrous place. :P

On Monday afternoon, I returned to battle some cyclopes, in hopes of finding a rune defender.

It took some time, and a lot of dead cyclopes, but finally I am the proud owner of a rune defender! :) I have two of each of the lesser defenders, so I will be looking to score a second rune version of the weapon another time.

Early this morning, I helped my pal Holly mine a crashed star at the southwest mining site outside of Varrock. Just as we both claimed our rewards, a goblin raidimg party appeared in the same area - unfortunately for them. After Holly and I dispatched the raiders, we both fought Hollowtoof. He is Combat Level 77. Holly and I have a combined Combat Level of 212. He stood no chance. Holly got a Raider Chainbody, while I found a Raider Axe.

Ah, sorry about that Holly! I knew you'd reached CL 100, but I didn't realize you had gotten CL 101. I don't know why I thought you were CL 99. Maybe because it seemed you were stuck at that level for SO long, like I was at CL 111.

So congrats...you're still only 12 Combat Levels below me. Before you say it, yes your Ranged level is still a little bit better than mine. You know me. My combat triangle is actually a straight line. Hehe.

I scored six ancient relics shortly before tonight's reset, using only two free TH keys.

I got 20 uncut diamonds, 40 springs, a set of Long Horns, a large star...and the Coin Of Balance! :D

On Monday, I completed the brand new quest, Once Upon A Slime.

I claimed all the rewards, including the top hat cosmetic override from Eva. This means I have also gained another pet - Lil Miss Gloop. My list of pets on page 11 has been updated.

When I saw you could use the bucket Peter gives you on King Slime to get a bucket of green slime, I wondered if this item could be used to obtain the Lil Gloop pet previously available, even though I ended up destroying the bucket of green slime during the quest, thinking I could get another one if I needed it to finish the quest, or to get the Lil Gloop pet I missed before. Well, that didn't happen. Afterwards, I looked up the quest guide and read that, according to the RS Wiki, the bucket of green slime has no use. Good to know. Oh well, that's one less useless item to store in my bank! :P

Late Sunday night, I helped to defeat an Evil maple tree that had appeared north of the Grand Exchange. Two other players were there chopping the tree, which still had 95% of its health when I arrived. Nobody else had used any kindling to set the Evil maple tree on fire, so I worked my way around it, chopping the roots and setting fires as I went along. Before the Evil tree died, I managed to reach Woodcutting level 82! :)

I earned 100% of my reward from this Evil tree, which was a bird's nest, 93 maple logs, and 1,561 coins. After burning the remaining kindling, I teleported to Edgeville, where I banked the nest and the logs, then began chopping yews. Thanks to the leprechaun's magic, the yew logs instantly were sent to my bank. This buff was in effect for 18 minutes.

After the logs stopped being magically escorted to the bank, I got three additional yew logs before returning to the bank. I deposited the yews and withdrew a full inventory of those maple logs I had received from killing the Evil tree. I used these to build a bonfire beside the bank. After burning 21 of these logs, I got Firemaking level 82! :) I burned another 21 maple logs, for a total of 42, before the bonfire went out.

My Total Level is 1515.

I've only recently started hunting Evil trees, since I don't normally train Firemaking or Woodcutting all that much. This maple tree is only the fourth Evil tree I have encountered. Previously, I have destroyed, or helped to destroy, an Evil oak tree west of Falador, an Evil yew tree south of the Draynor bank, and a second Evil oak tree west of Falador (which was a solo kill for me). Previous rewards for killing these Evil trees have included an acorn, a bird's nest (which has a different icon from the one I just found, so they don't stack in the bank), and a willow tree seed.

Early this morning, I had a bit of luck while harvesting some pale wisps. After several recent trips to the colony between Lumbridge and Draynor resulted in gathering no chronicle fragments at all, today I found two of them fairly quickly. The first fragment appeared just after I began harvesting the second pale wisp. The second fragment came along about 20 minutes later. This brings my current total of chronicle fragments up to 20. I am now 1/5 of the way to my goal of getting 100 fragments, so that I can use them to claim the "Of Guthix" title. :)

20 down, 80 to go...

1.2XP Weekend: Extended, Day 1

Today has been a great day for gains! I got three skill levels, which achieved one of my goals for 2020, and made progress towards another goal! :D

This afternoon, I started off by using 300 of the 900 protean hides I had in the bank, along with a cinder core to burn through the 29,000 or so BXP I had in Crafting to get close to the next level. I was only 6,956 XP away. So I banked my other 9 cinder cores I had taken from the total of 30 I started off with, since I'd used up all the BXP in Crafting, and I teleported to Al Kharid. I ran north to the mine, where I killed some scorps and mined the precious gem rocks in the resource dungeon. After cutting the gems, I returned to the bank, then went back to the precious gem rocks a second time. After banking again, this time when I got back to the mine I mined an uncommon gem rock instead. After banking, I returned to the desert mine for a fourth time, and mined that uncommon gem rock way in the back just to the left a second time. On this trip, I gathered 16 sapphires, 10 emeralds, and 2 rubies. I began cutting the sapphires first. After cutting the fourth gem, I reached Crafting level 80! :) This was all I had left to do in order to reach one of my short-term goals for this year, which was to get all my F2P skills to level 80 or better before the release of Archaeology. Today the next-to-last Archaeology Journal was posted, so that was good timing all around! Crafting is now tied with Dungeoneering and Prayer as my three lowest skills. Getting 80 Crafting also improved my RuneScore to 2130.

Next, I went to the Runespan, where I burned up the roughly 17,000 BXP I'd had in Runecrafting since the very end of the last 1.2XP Weekend, without using cinder cores. I added 300 points to my total, and I reached Runecrafting level 86! :)

I returned to do a little fishing in Lumbridge before logging out for a bit...but the biggest gain of the day was still to come! See the next post...

So after taking a break, I logged back into RS on Friday evening. I completed and redeemed a Fletching challenge, claimed my daily hamper of food from the Lumbridge Cook, then took 15 cinder cores with me to Falador, where I entered the Mining Guild.

In the Guild, I started by mining runite. As usual, I had 20 free inventory spaces, which gives me six inventories before filling the ore box with one ore before moving on to another. Shortly after I began working on the third inventory, my second cinder core went off, giving me a 4% XP burn boost. Then I got Mining level 96! :)

After I mined 120 runite ore, I mined 120 luminite, 120 coal, and 140 iron ore before heading to the furnace to deposit all the ores into my metal bank. After I had mined only 4 iron ore, I had used up all my Mining BXP, which was a little over 109,000.

Getting 99 Mining is one of the longer-term goals I had posted to this thread last month. Now I am only three levels away from reaching that goal.

It was a good first day of 1.2XP Weekend: Extended. However, I have currently used up all my bonus XP in every skill except for Smithing. I have 99 Smithing, and over 1.8 million BXP in that skill. So either I'll have to get more BXP, or go for 100 Smithing. O_o

I wonder what I will do. I can't wait to find out!

1.2XP Weekend: Extended, Day 8

Well, I haven't been able to play as much as I would've liked to over the past week. However, today I managed to reach some milestones, in spite of a ridiculous amount of lag.

This afternoon, using protean logs, I got to Fletching level 82! :)

My Total Level is 1519.

I did some additional fletching afterwards. When I finished, I had just over 2.5 million XP in Fletching. The other milestones I passed today are:

- 2,000,000 XP in Crafting
- 10,000,000 XP in Mining
- 14,000,000 XP in Smithing
- 80,000,000 XP in total XP

I did get more BXP recently, which I put on Mining. I used it all up today, plus some Smithing BXP. That is now down to a little over 1,555,000. I'm currently 261,012 XP away from level 100 Smithing! O_o

Early this morning, I used a medium prismatic lamp I had just won from the Diamond Dozen TH promotion to gain 9,044 XP in Ranged. As I was just under 9,000 XP from the next level, this lamp got me to Ranged level 84! :)

I did not gain a Combat Level. My Total Level is 1521.

Thank you Jokku! :)

It was nice spending some time the other day with you and the lovely and gracious Anja.

As usual, Hengel was just a jerk. He attacked me three separate times, just for picking his pocket! That did not go well for him at all. I ended up getting 30 coins plus a chargebow off him. Nobody wanted to buy it off the G.E. so I sold it to the general store in Varrock for 20 GP.

My first stop after leaving Anja's house was Draynor. I ran to the south entrance to Draynor, where I buried three sets of Hengel bones. Then I continued on to the wisp colony near Lumbridge, where I completed a Divination daily challenge, before teleporting to Varrock.

Cheers Jokku!

After the first full day of Yak Track 2, I am currently on task #7, to smith 50 items. As I did during the first Yak Track, I'll be making 50 sets of rune arrowheads.

I'm not concerned about finishing many of these tedious tasks before Archaeology is released next Monday, since reportedly 25 Archaeology-based tasks are set to be added to the Yak Track next week. I reckon these tasks have to be better than grinding away Cooking, Fishing, Firemaking, Woodcutting, or the dreaded Dungeoneering! :O Also, I recently finally earned back the 8 million coins I had spent buying baby dragon bones to complete a Prayer task during the first Yak Track - and I'd prefer not to have to do that again, thank you. O_o

"Oh, but Aslon there's a simple way to auto-complete the tasks you don't want to do. All you have to do is buy some task skips..." Stop. Just stop with that. I'm not paying extra money to skip game content designed to annoy players into paying extra to avoid. If the content becomes too obnoxious, I'll just skip it for free by not playing it.

I completed the original Yak Track and only used the two free task skips everyone started with. We'll see how this second one works out.

I completed a few more tasks on the Zodi-Yak Track this afternoon. I'm currently on task #10. For this one, I'll be fishing a total of 185 swordfish and tuna. That definitely sounds better than cooking 795 pieces of food! O_o

I looked ahead to see which skills task #11 will involve: Firemaking or Dungeoneering

Ugh. Maybe I'll just wait for the Archaeology tasks to be added after I finish task #10.

I've done a few more Zodi-Yak Track tasks since my last post.

I decided to go with Dungeoneering for task #11. I completed 4/9 dungeon floors yesterday, and I finished the remaining 5 floors this afternoon.

So now I'm working on task #12, to smelt 1,680 bars, going from an annoying task to a tedious one. I'm a little more than 1/4 of the way through, at 472/1680.

Remind me again...exactly when does the Yak Track actually become fun? O_o

I finished smelting those 1,680 bars - steel and mithril bars, mostly. Then I moved on to task #13, to mine some stardust from a shooting star.

After searching several locations, I finally found a size 5 crashed star near the east bank in Varrock. I messaged a couple of friends about the crashed star, and one of them showed up to help. Then a few more players showed up to help as well. Unfortunately, by the time I found the star, the D&D was roughly half over. We were partway through the final layer when the shooting star D&D reset! :( At least I not only finished the Yak Track task by mining some stardust, but I gathered 200 stardust to give to the next star sprite I would free, and earned a nice chunk of Mining XP too.

One of the other players got a tip there was a crashed star at the Al Kharid mine, so a group of us went there to mine it. That one was size 4 when I arrived. We broke through to rescue the star sprite, I claimed my reward, said my goodbyes, and hurried to use my double ore Mining buff to quickly gather some runite ore from the Mining Guild. I now need less than 90k XP to reach the next Mining level!

Next up is task #14, to craft/siphon 1,135 body/fire runes. O_o Surely, the Archaeology tasks can't be as grindy as these current Yak Track tasks...can they?

Zodi-Yak Track update:

After spending some time in the RuneSpan, then making several runs to the body altar, I completed task #14. I then completed task #15 by smithing 50 sets of rune arrowheads, for a total of 3,750. I added these to my collection of rune arrowheads in the bank, for a total of 39,700. This should be plenty to complete a lot of Fletching challenges! :P

Task #16 will require me to mine 580 ores (coal or higher). These will be mostly luminite and runite - 240 of each - plus 100 coal. Currently, I am only 58,572 XP away from 97 Mining, so it looks like I'll be gaining that level soon!

I guess I'll be doing more Runecrafting for task #17, since the other option is Dungeoneering.

Zodi-Yak Track update:

Late Sunday night, I completed task #16 (mine 580 ores) by mining runite, luminite, and coal in the Mining Guild. Since I'd mined a crashed star earlier in the evening, the double ore Mining buff was in effect while I was mining the first 120 runite ores. This got me to 4,642 XP from the next level. Then I began mining the first 120 luminite. After 38 luminite ores, I reached Mining level 97! :) Two more Mining levels and I'll have my second 99!

After filling my ore box with 120 runite and luminite, I added 120 coal to it as well before returning to the Artisans' Workshop to deposit all the ores into my metal bank. Next, I went back and mined another 120 runite and luminite ores to complete the task. Later on, I went to the SW Varrock mine and got 120 mithril and 140 iron ores.

My Total Level is now 1522.

For task #17, it looks like I'll be Runecrafting another 1,135 body/fire runes. Task #18 offers a choice between Fishing and Fletching grinding. Ugh.

Bring on Archaeology! I am ready to start working on those tasks instead!

Well that was easy.

On the day Archaeology was released, I raised the skill to level 20, which is the skill cap for F2P. I also smithed a steel mattock, and put it on my tool belt. I found and restored 12 artifacts - 6 I kept, 4 I sold to the museum, 1 I donated to the museum, and 1 I sold to Soran. I also obtained and activated the only relic free players can use.

My Total Level is now 1542.

Aside from maybe solving one or two more mysteries, I suppose there isn't a lot left to accomplish in Archaeology once I complete my collection of Zarosian artifacts, as well as the collections of the museum and of Soran.

Oh well, that'll give me more time to focus on the Zodi-Yak Track, which I totally ignored on Monday. Another trip to the RuneSpan coming up. Oh yay. :P

My pleasure, Jokku! Good to see you and Anja. Oh by the way, the next day I took Hengel's bones down into the Varrock sewers and buried them there. I trust you approve of the location. Hehe.

Yes, F2P Archaeology is quite easy to cap. Just by finishing the simple tutorial, you get level 5 in this new skill. After finding and restoring a few artifacts, you should be able to access the Zarosian fort, where you'll soon reach level 20, if you haven't already done so.

Maybe Anja would like some Zarosian artifacts to decorate her house with. Then again, maybe not. Besides, with Hengel around who needs a training dummy? :P

Good luck on Yak track if you decide to continue it :)

Thank you, and yes I am continuing with the Zodi-Yak Track. An update on my progress there will be coming very soon.

Yes, that was annoying. We were so close to breaking through that final layer! If only I had discovered that star a little sooner. Ah well, at least we got to that one at Al Kharid in plenty of time. That helped me get 97 Mining shortly thereafter.

I'm going to focus on Yak Track 2 and the Easter event for now, but when things quiet down I'll get back to hunting down those crashed stars - and working on 98 Mining! I will indeed keep you in the loop. Feel free to do the same. Thanks!

Zodi-Yak Track update:

Monday night I finished task #20, a Prayer challenge, by burying 1,500 sets of big bones. Good Guthix that was tedious! Many of these bones I bought pretty cheaply from the Grand Exchange. I encouraged hill giants to donate the rest of the big bones to me. Hehe.

Completing this task got me 75 protean hides as well as the Dioscuri Sentinel pet. I added this one to my list of pets halfway down page 11 of this thread. I now have 40 pets! O_o For someone who believes RuneScape has too damned many pets, I sure have accumulated quite a collection of these creatures.

I have started task #21, to smith 55 adamant or rune items. So far I've made 12 sets of rune arrowheads. Task #22 involves either Woodcutting or Prayer. I had hoped to avoid Firemaking/Woodcutting tasks...but Prayer again? Ugh. Maybe I'll use a skip token. I'd prefer to save the skips for later, though. It's not like these tasks are getting easier, after all.

Zodi-Yak Track/Easter update:

On Tuesday afternoon, I worked on task #21 for a bit, logged out for a couple of hours, then logged back in Tuesday night after reset (which is 8pm my time) and finished the task. The Easter event had gone live at reset, so I kept stopping my smithing to grab some eggs.

After a quick trip to the RuneSpan to complete a daily Runecrafting challenge (and gather some more Easter eggs), I teleported to Lumbridge, where I completed a daily Fletching challenge by making 25 yew shieldbows, and found some more eggs.

Next, I gathered four full inventories of Third Age iron, 112 in total, while collecting additional eggs too. I then sold all that Third Age iron on the Grand Exchange. They sold for 12,025 coins each, for a grand total of 1,346,800 coins! I then used a portion of this newly-gained wealth to buy 3,000 big bones at 265 coins each, for a total of 795,000 coins.

3000 big bones is twice the number I will need to complete task #22. Yes, I decided to go with Prayer, rather than skip this one. I expect I may have to do another Prayer task before I reach the end of this Yak Track. If I need more, I'll get more. No problemo.

I started burying these bones at the Lumbridge market. I've only buried 140/1,500 so far.

While doing all these activities, I managed to find 4,650 chocolate eggs. The Easter Bunny will be pleased when I finally hand in all the eggs.

Zodi-Yak Track/Easter update:

Well, this afternoon I saved Easter! I brought 10,000 Easter eggs to the Easter Bunny and bought all three items in his shop, including the Sheldon pet - my 41st pet! O_o The Easter Bunny thanked me for saving Easter by awarding me the Hard-Boiled title.

I also finished Yak Track task #22 by burying the rest of those 1,500 sets of big bones, and went on to complete task #23 by smithing 60 sets of rune arrowheads (a total of 4,500 of them). For task #24, I'll be returning to the RuneSpan.

I went back and handed 2,000 Easter eggs to the master thief and her wife in exchange for two large loot bags. I got three BXP stars, two boxes of Dungeoneering tokens, and a medium XP lamp, which I used to gain over 11,000 XP in Fishing. I was then exactly 140 XP away from leveling! I sailed to Karamja to harpoon fish. One swordfish would do the trick. Instead, I caught a tuna. Then I caught a second tuna - and reached Fishing level 90! :)

After catching two inventories of raw swordfish and tuna, I picked 26 bananas and teleported to Al Kharid. After banking, I took a full backpack of raw tuna to the range north of the bank. I was halfway through cooking these tuna when I reached Cooking level 90! :)

My Total Level is 1544. My RuneScore is now 2260.

Gaining these two levels today means I now have 8 of the 17 F2P skills in the 90s. The remaining 9 skills are all in the low to mid 80s.

Zodi-Yak Track/Easter update:

This afternoon, I completed task #24 by crafting 1,135 body/fire runes. First, I went to the RuneSpan, where I siphoned 600 points worth of body and fire runes, for a total of 985 runes. Then I teleported to Varrock, grabbed my body talisman and some rune essence, then made three runs to the body altar after teleporting to Edgeville. I only needed to craft 150 body runes to complete the task. After the second run, I had crafted exactly 130 body runes. When I finished the third run, I had crafted a total of 200 body runes. Task completed!

Now I've reached the halfway point of Yak Track 2. For task #25, I'll have to harpoon 560 swordfish. The other option was Woodcutting. At least task #26 should be quick and easy. I'll need to find a yak in Draynor, and I believe I know where exactly he is.

I also handed in another 4,000 Easter eggs to Caelyn. So far, I've brought her a total of 6,000 eggs. I have another 1,346 eggs in my currency pouch. I wonder what she will give me once I've brought her the 10,000 Easter eggs she asked for. I should know soon enough!

Easter update:

I have now finished the Easter 2020 event after handing Caelyn Kadaan the rest of the 10,000 Easter eggs she requested. She awarded me a title: the Poached.

I still have 20 chocolate eggs left over. I will probably collect more before the event ends, to spend on additional sacks of loot from Caelyn. I can be casual about it though, and get back to focusing on the Zodi-Yak Track. I have to catch 560 swordfish at the dock in Karamja. That dock is a pretty convenient place to collect Easter eggs. We'll see how it goes.

Zodi-Yak Track/Easter update:

After a LOT of fishing from the dock on Karamja, I finally finished task #25, to fish 560 swordfish! In sharp contrast, I spent about a minute completing task #26, which involved finding and speaking with the sick yak hiding in Draynor. How the Falador did he get up there anyway? O_o Maybe Aggie can cure him.

Task #27 is to either fletch 2,250 bows or craft 1,930 body/fire runes. Task #28 will be between fletching or smelting. No doubt those numbers will be ridiculously punishing as well.

While fishing for hours, I collected more Easter eggs. After returning from Karamja to bank in Lumbridge, then finding the yak in Draynor, I visited Caelyn and gave her an additional 5,400 eggs. Her lousy loot bags included a large and huge XP lamp (both of which are useless trash in F2P) but I did get a small lamp and two medium lamps, all of which I used on Mining. I also got a couple more Dungeoneering token boxes, some cash bags, and a bunch of failing stars. In addition to the 10,000 eggs I gave to the Easter Bunny and the 10,000 eggs I gave to Caelyn, I ended up giving her another 9,400 eggs. I have 211 eggs left over in my currency pouch. I earned all available rewards from the event, including Caelyn's spare hat.

Zodi-Yak Track update:

I have finished task #27, by crafting over 1,930 body/fire runes. I siphoned both types of runes in the RuneSpan - 800 points worth, which came to just over 1300 runes. Then I made some body runes at the body altar to complete the task.

Another grindy task for tier #28 - smelting 2,320 adamant/rune bars. That'll be unpleasant, but still better than doing a fletching challenge.

Thank Guthix task #29 will involve mining!

Late Sunday night, after coming close to finishing Zodi-Yak Track task #28 (2,163/2,320 rune bars smelted), I took a break from smelting at the Artisans' Workshop to teleport to Lumbridge, where I used up all my daily Low-Alchemy and High-Alchemy spells granted by the Explorer's ring 4. This got me to exactly 5 XP away from the next Magic level! :o However, I wasn't quite done with the ring just yet. I teleported to Al Kharid, and ran north to the desert mine. There I mined a full inventory of gold ore, killed a few scorps for fun, and used the Explorer's ring 4 to superheat 27 gold ores into bars. The first of these spells was more than enough to get me to Magic level 86! :) Then I teleported back to Al Kharid, smelted the one remaining ore into a gold bar, and crafted 28 gold amulets, which I placed in my bank to be alched another day.

My Total Level is 1545.

While in Al Kharid, I smelted another 40 or so rune bars. However, Linza was being annoying, so I teleported back to Lumbridge, where I smelted the final 120 or so rune bars to complete task #28. I now have 7912 rune bars in my metal bank, along with 2400 luminite and 2400 runite ores. I'll be adding to those ore totals while working on task #29, for which I'll have to mine 730 luminite/runite ores. This will take three trips to the Mining Guild. No problemo.

Looking ahead to task #30, I'll get to choose between Dungeoneering and Fletching. Ick.

Tonight I finished task #29, by mining 730 luminite/runite ores - and then some. After three runs to the Mining Guild, I ended up with 380 of each ore.

Onward to task #30 - complete 22 floors of Dungeoneering. That will be annoying. Still, it'll be better than having to fletch 3,000 bows! O_o

Zodi-Yak Track update:

I have finished task #31. I changed my mind about smelting another 2,320 rune bars. Instead, I chose to bury 1,500 big bones, remembering I had bought 3,000 big bones the last time I was preparing to do a Prayer task. Late last night, I found a good deal on big bones on the Grand Exchange, so I bought an additional 2,000 of them.

Task #32 is between crafting 1,930 body/fire runes or fishing 560 swordfish. Ordinarily, I'd go with the Runecrafting task. However, I think I'll do the Fishing task, because I know I'll have a Cooking task coming up - and I'll need a lot of raw swordfish for that, so I'll have to stock up.

Looking ahead to task #33, the choices are Firemaking or Prayer(again). It's a good thing I bought those additional big bones!

Zodi-Yak Track update:

Early Monday evening, I finished task #32. I had to harpoon 560 swordfish. I ended up leaving Karamja with 571 swordfish - plus a lot more tuna.

After reset, I logged back in to start on task #33 by burying big bones. So far, I've buried 420/2,000. I figured I'd take a break to post this update.

As luck would have it, my new daily challenge was a Prayer task to bury 25 bones. Perfect timing! Once I've completed this Yak Track task, I should be close to gaining another Prayer level.

Now to get back to burying more bones!

Zodi-Yak Track update:

On Tuesday afternoon, I finished task #33 by burying the rest of those 2,000 big bones. As I predicted, completing this task got me close to gaining a Prayer level - only 6,474 XP away!

I also found time to go through The Drop several times. The first time, I missed the question about iron ore. During my second and third attempts, the game stalled out briefly at two different points, resulting in a longer delay before the next question came up. When the client finally caught up, I had literally no time to answer the next question! The game told me I had the wrong answer, when in fact it didn't give me a chance at all to answer! Luckily, I made it through all the questions successfully on the fourth try. This earned me the Alone Together title, along with a medium and large XP lamp, plus a medium and large star. I dropped the useless large lamp and used everything else on Mining.

I'm currently on task #34, which is to either fish 730 swordfish or cook 1,525 swordfish/cheese wheels. As I only had 1,375 raw swordfish in my bank, and I find wheels of cheese annoying to make, I opted to return to Karamja to harpoon more fish.

Yes, more fishing. Guthix help me!

Early Wednesday evening, I completed task #34 by harpooning a total of 732 swordfish, 2 more than I needed. I also ended up with 726 tuna. I now have 2,107 raw swordfish in the bank, which ought to be more than enough for a Cooking task.

Task #35 is a choice between smithing 95 adamant/rune items or crafting 2,275 body/fire runes. Naturally, I'll be smithing more rune arrowheads. How many do I have?

For now, let's just say it's a LOT! :)

I finished task #36 this afternoon by cooking 1,525 swordfish.

Task #37 involves either harpooning yet another 730 swordfish, or burying yet another 2,000 bones. I'm going with Prayer for this task. I bought 2,000 big bones off the Grand Exchange for 370,000 gp. I paid for them by selling two full inventories of Third-Age iron for 411,712 gp.

Burying 2,000 big bones grants 30,000 Prayer XP. This will be more than enough to get me to the next Prayer level!

Yodi-Yak Track update:

I just finished burying the last of those 2,000 big bones to complete task #37.

Having no interest in training Firemaking by buying and burning 1,605 magic logs (which F2P can burn, but cannot cut), I will be mining at least 1,245 luminite/runite ores for task #38. I expect I'll mine a few more than needed, so that I will end up with equal amounts of the two ores. This should require five trips to the Mining Guild. Mining - yay!

For task #39, apparently I'll have to look through a telescope. A non-grindy task - YAY!!

Thank Guthix this yak thing is almost over with.

I went on to complete task #39 by looking through the telescope on Mudskipper Point. Why couldn't we have had a few more simple tasks like this one, as a break from the grindfest?

Because if the Yak Track was actually fun, nobody would buy bonds to skip their way through it, that's why.

Zodi-Yak Track wrap-up:

I didn't have much time - or motivation - to play Sunday afternoon. I've known for some time there was no way I'd make it through the dreaded Yak Track this time. The grindfest was simply too time-consuming and unpleasant.

I did log in long enough to use my one remaining free skip to auto-complete task #40, as I had no time to finish a grindy Runecrafting or Fletching chore. So I made it 80% of the way through, with no skips bought.

I missed out on getting five cosmetic overrides (wand, two orbs, cape, and goggles) and the cosmic weaver teleport, along with some minor items and member junk. Oh well.

At least I still have my integrity, so I win. :)

1.2 XP Weekend update:

So far, it has been a great first day of 1.2 XP Weekend, and the day isn't even over yet!

I warmed up by using all the daily charges of High-Alchemy, Low-Alchemy, and Superheat granted by my Explorer's ring 4. Then I cooked several inventories of tuna in Al Kharid. No Magic or Cooking levels were gained...but level gains were on the horizon!

I went to the bank chest in Lumbridge Market and withdrew some protean hides. I used 80 of these to reach Crafting level 81! :)

Next, I teleported to Falador and ran to the Artisans' Workshop, where I grabbed some advanced pulse cores, cinder cores, and 50 protean bars. After a little protean elder rune smithing, I was only 10,277 XP away from saying goodbye to my 99 Smithing. I then made 2 sets of rune arrowheads to complete a daily challenge. Redeeming this challenge got me my first virtual skill level - Smithing level 100! :D I noticed on the skills tab the Smithing icon did not flash when my level rose to 100. From this moment forward, my Total Skill Level and my Virtual Total Skill Level will never be the same again. I made one more set of rune arrowheads with my new level 100 Smithing, then banked them all before heading down into the Mining Guild.

I had done some mining earlier in the day at the Al Kharid desert mine to obtain a full backpack of gold ore (which is what I used my 27 Superheat charges on). With a +10% buff to XP in effect from all that smithing, it was now time for some serious mining. Starting with the runite rocks in the Mining Guild, and alternating between wearing cinder cores and pulse cores, I had mined 70 ores when I reached Mining level 98! :) I continued mining until I had 120 runite, 120 luminite, and 140 iron ores. I placed these in my metal bank.

Next, I completed a daily Runecrafting challenge in the Runespan. I stayed there until I had earned 200 points, bringing my total Runespan points to 30,000. I did not gain a Runecrafting level, though.

To be continued...

^ Thank you! :)

Yeah, 99 Mining is a goal I set for myself by the end of this year. The plan is to reach:

97 Mining by 3/31/20 (I got this on 3/29/20)
98 Mining by 7/31/20 (I got this on 5/8/20)
99 Mining by 12/31/20

It's certainly going well so far - I am ahead of schedule!

Maybe we'll bust up some more crashed stars again soon.

1.2 XP Weekend update:

On Thursday afternoon, I made three trips to the mining site north of Al Kharid. I mined some gold ore during the first two trips, superheated 27 of those ores into bars, and smelted the rest in Al Kharid. I crafted the bars into gold amulets, which I then alched. On the third trip, I entered the resource dungeon to mine the precious gem rocks. I found 14 uncut emeralds, 8 uncut rubies, and 6 uncut diamonds. After cutting all the emeralds and rubies, I was 283 XP away from gaining a level. Then I began cutting the diamonds. After the first two, I was just 25 XP from the next level. Cutting the third diamond got me to Crafting level 82! :)

I hadn't checked my Runecrafting XP since completing the last couple of Zodi-Yak Track tasks for that skill, so when I looked at it today, I saw I was only 654 XP away from leveling the skill. Therefore, I visited the Runespan. I siphoned 25 air runes from a cyclone, grabbed another 25 floating essence, and climbed up to the middle floor, where I siphoned a body esshound. When I had obtained 4 of the 5 available body runes from this creature, I got Runecrafting level 87! :)

My Total Level is 1551 (Virtual Level 1552).

1.2 XP Weekend update:

This Sunday evening, I made 2,000 headless arrows. Then, I took another 2,000 headless arrows and 4,000 rune arrowheads out of my bank. I fletched 4,000 rune arrows. After I had made 1,845 arrows, I managed to reach Fletching level 84! :) One more level until I can make magic shieldbows!

My Total Level is 1552 (Virtual Level 1553).

I also did some smithing this evening. I didn't gain another level, but I did pass the 15 million mark in Smithing XP, and the 88 million mark in total XP. Protean elder rune smithing while wearing cinder cores to burn bonus XP is quite good!

I've burned up all my BXP in Mining this weekend - about 425,000 of it. I still have more mining to do before 1.2 XP Weekend ends at Noon on Monday (game time). It looks like I'm in for a long night/morning! :O

I went down into the Mining Guild early this morning, and mined 120 runite ores. This got me to 12,725 XP away from a milestone level. I logged out and got some sleep.

This afternoon, I proceeded to mine 120 luminite ores. I was mining the rock closest to the door to the Mining Guild when I had 93 luminite ores. I paused for a moment, then hit the rock with a mighty chi-blast which got me two more luminite ores - and Mining level 99! :D

This is my second 99 achieved, completely in F2P.

My Total Level is 1553 (Virtual Level 1554).

One of my New Year's resolutions was to get 99 Mining before the end of this year. I have now reached that goal, just over six months early. That rocks! :p

Well, that was fun!

On Wednesday afternoon, I did what I traditionally do when I am close to gaining new melee combat levels - I visited several of my best enemies, allowing their deaths to contribute towards my impending success. :p

I started off by killing some scorpions at the mine north of Al Kharid. Next, I teleported to Varrock. There, I dispatched some dark wizards. Then it was time for some more challenging PvM, so I went into the Varrock sewers. I did stop to bust about 20 ghosts, but I quickly moved along to the deadly red spiders. I spent quite a bit of time training on these spiders. When I started, I was roughly 20k XP away from gaining a level in Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength. When I decided to leave the sewers, with a full inventory of red spiders' eggs, I was only 8k XP away from leveling. After selling the spiders' eggs at the G.E., I teleported to Edgeville. I entered the dungeon there, and stopped just outside the corridor leading to the lair of the poison spiders. I was experiencing some serious lag spikes, so I logged out for several hours.

I logged in again that night and battled many aggressive poison spiders, along with a reduced amount of lag. I was just under 3k XP away when I chose to leave, teleporting to Falador. I went down into the mine and slew a lot of scorpions and king scorpions. I decided I would once again I would level by killing scorps. When I logged out early Thursday morning, I only needed about 860 or so XP to level.

On Thursday afternoon, I slaughtered enough scorps to where I needed just 201 XP to level Attack/Defence/Strength and 305 XP to level Constitution. I teleported to Al Kharid and logged out, knowing my immediate goal was about to be reached.

I logged in late Thursday night and did my dailies. I then grabbed my bow and ran to the Al Kharid mining site. I trained Ranged on 10 scorpions, which brought up my Constitution to 200 XP away from leveling. Then I switched back to my melee gear.

With my rune armor and longswords equipped, I killed another 18 scorpions. Now I needed only 9 XP to level Attack and Strength, 10 XP to level Defence, and 11 XP to level Constitution.

I killed scorp #19 in front of the entrance to the Al Kharid resource dungeon. This got me Attack, Defence, and Strength level 91! :) It also raised my Combat Level to 114, and left me 1 XP short of leveling Constitution! :D Killing nearby scorp #20 got me Constitution level 91! :)

So it was just after Midnight on Friday morning when I finally gained Combat Level 114, even though for many months my RuneMetrics profile has listed my CL as 114.

I just checked it and, now that I truly am CL 114, my RuneMetrics profile now shows my CL to be 115! :O Good Guthix, will this ever be accurate? O_o

This afternoon, I decided to complete my current Daily Challenges - all 5 of them.

First, I went to the Artisans' Workshop in Falador, where I completed a Smithing challenge by making 2 sets of rune arrowheads. I then teleported to Edgeville, where I banked the arrowheads before going down into the dungeon. There, I battled the level 63 poison spiders to complete a Combat challenge. I used the Combat XP lamp on Ranged. While down there, I used the bone spawns to complete a Prayer challenge.

Next, I teleported to Port Sarim and ran west to Anja's house in Rimmington, where I completed a Thieving challenge by pickpocketing Hengel 25 times. Of course, since my Thieving is only at level 5, he caught me several times. Hengel hits hard for a level 4! I hit harder though. :D Whenever Hengel would catch and attack me, I'd just exterminate him once I was no longer stunned. On one occasion, as I was going after Hengel to attack him for attacking me, Anja walked between us and stopped in front of Hengel - as if to try and protect him from me! O_o It didn't work. ;) Once this task was finished, I terminated Hengel one last time before teleporting to Taverley.

Running north to the Burthorpe cows, I saw some low-levels training on them. There were plenty of cowhides lying around, so I helped myself to 16 of them. I then had Jack Oval tan 5 of the cowhides into normal leather for me. Jack also kindly offered me some thread. I made 5 leather shields to complete a Crafting challenge. This completed all of my Daily Challenges, and it also raised my Crafting level to 83! :)

My Total Level is 1558 (Virtual Level 1559).

Yak To The Shadows update:

I got a good start on this third Yak Track thing. I have completed the first 5 tasks.

Task #1 was completed by listening to Moorrissey's yakstory. Fun fact: As usual, I was listening to 1st Wave on Sirius XM while playing RS, and as I began talking to the yak they played "Ask" by The Smiths. The lead singer of The Smiths is named Morrissey. Perfect timing! :P

Task #2 was to mine only 70 ores of coal or better. I did better and mined 100 coal at the Barbarian Village. The other choice was to smelt steel bars or better.

Task #3 was a pleasant surprise - FINALLY combat was an option along the F2P Yak Track! :) I happily chose this option over stringing a lot of bows! I had to kill 445 monsters, so I went into the dwarven mine and did the entire task there, killing scorpions and king scorpions.

Task #4 was between catching 95 fish or cooking 555 pieces of food. Easy choice! I went to the Karamja dock and harpooned fish. After four trips to have Stiles note the fish, I more than completed this task by catching 54 swordfish and 52 tuna.

Task #5 was completed by going to the Kharid-et dig site and excavating Venator remains until I found a Zarosian insignia (which I quickly discovered after finding one piece of Third-Age iron and one chunk of ancient gravel). I then teleported to Varrock, where I donated the insignia to Soran. At least he thanked me, which is more than can be said for any of those miners I saved from the king scorps.

Next, I am smithing 35 items of steel or better to complete Task #6. That will only take slightly longer than smelting 560 bars (steel or better), and it won't be a drain on resources I'll probably need for future tasks. Looks like I'll soon have even more rune arrowheads.

Since it's Zarosian in flavor, I expect this Yak Track to be a big hit with Kristen! :)

News: Aslon Dak has received Woody, the Woodcutting pet drop!

That's right - I finally got my first skilling pet! O_o :O :D

Interesting it should come as a result of training one of my lowest skills (level 82). I figured if ever I got a skilling pet, it would most likely be associated with Smithing, or maybe Mining. It turned out to be Woodcutting, a skill I rarely train. Who could've seen that coming? Not me!

I was in Edgeville cutting down yews for a Yak Track task, when suddenly fireworks went off. I knew it couldn't have been a Daily Woodcutting Challenge, since I had already redeemed one of those two inventories of yew logs earlier. I then saw the broadcast message in the chat window and Woody in my backpack.

I received Woody at 2,542,485 Woodcutting XP, after having gained 42,185 XP in the skill early this morning.

I will update my list of pets on page 11 once I've posted this.

Yak To The Shadows update:

I haven't had much time to play the past two days, but I did manage to complete Task #6 after smithing 36 sets of rune arrowheads in Falador, although I only needed to make 35 items.

Early this morning, I finished cutting 175 yew logs in Edgeville to complete Task #7. The other option was Firemaking. While working on the third inventory of yews, I received Woody, the Woodcutting pet drop - my first skilling pet! :)

Task #8 is a choice between crafting or siphoning 305 body runes, or burying 330 bones. I'm going with Runecrafting here. However, since the number of body runes needed for this task is so small, I'm thinking of not bothering to go to the Runespan. I may just make some runs to the body altar, especially since (unlike last time) siphoning fire runes doesn't appear to count towards these tasks.

Yak To The Shadows update:

Yesterday I completed Task #8 by making five runs to the body altar. I needed to craft 305 body runes. I ended up crafting 333 of them. All those 3s remind me of someone. ;)

This afternoon I completed Task #9 by cooking 590 pieces of food (mostly tuna, except for three pieces of beef I had picked up while collecting cowhides in Burthorpe for crafting). The other option would've been to string 520 bows.

For Task #10, I must either complete 6 Dungeoneering floors, or bury 660 bones. I am actually leaning towards Dungeoneering. Yeah, I know. I'm surprised too! O_o :O

Yak To The Shadows update:

I finished Task #10 - a Dungeoneering task - a short time ago. I chose to complete 6 frozen floors on complexity 1, so I wouldn't be slowed down by skilling or puzzles. However, I did have to actually complete 7 floors, because Floor 6 did not get counted towards completing the task, all because I chose to end what I hoped was the final dungeon by climbing up the ladder in the starting room after killing the boss, rather than climbing down to the next level in the boss room, and then ending that floor by climbing the ladder in the starting room. Bah!

Here's a list of the floors I did and the bosses I faced:

Floors 1-4: Icy Bones (Easy fights. He barely wounded me. Once I took no damage at all!)
Floor 5: Luminescent Icefiend (I hate this guy and his stupid icicles! Bloody fight, but I won.)
Floor 6: Gluttonous Behemoth (Quick easy fight. I made sure to stand in front of its food)
Floor 11: Plane-freezer Lakhrahnaz (Annoying, but fairly brief battle. I took slight damage.)

7/6 floors completed, and I was reminded yet again of the reasons why I dislike Dungeoneering so much! At least it saved me from buying and burying a bunch of bones.

For Task #11, I could craft 400 pieces of armor out of snakeskin or green dragonhide leather. I'm not sure why blue dragonhide leather wasn't included as an option. Since this sounds tedious and expensive, I'm all too happy to go with the other task choice: to mine 155 ores (coal or better). I'm planning to stock up on coal and mithril, in case I find myself having to do some mid-level smelting for a future task.

I completed Task #12 by smithing 50 sets of rune arrowheads. Adding these to my bank increased my collection to 57,100 rune arrowheads. Those should help raise my Fletching!

I also completed Task #13 by bringing 5 nature runes to Brian, who runs the ranged shop in Rimmington. In preparation for this task, I gathered 12 nature runes by killing dark wizards near the Varrock lodestone. When you talk to Brian, he says he doesn't understand why people keep bringing him these runes. O_o After you remind him that he's getting free stuff, he quotes a song title from the Monty Python movie "Life Of Brian"! :P Nice one, Jagex! :D

The other "option" was impossible to do in F2P, since Ardougne is not accessible on free worlds. Nice one, Jagex. :@

Task #14 involves either cutting 280 logs or stringing 800 bows. 10 full inventories of yew logs will complete this task quite nicely, thank you.

I finished Task #14 by cutting 280 yew logs.

After taking a break from the Yak Track this afternoon to complete and redeem two Daily Challenges (Mining and Runecrafting), I made my way to the Artisans' Workshop to work on Task #15. For this one, I could've smelted 860 bars (steel or better). However, I have chosen to smith 50 items (steel or better) instead. Sure, the smelting would've gone a little faster - but I want to save my ore for later smelting tasks, which are sure to be more of a grind. When I reach one of these, I don't want to have to waste time mining the necessary ore first! :O

I am currently making more rune arrowheads. When this task is done, I'll have another 3,750 to add to the collection.

I completed Task #15 by smithing another 50 sets of rune arrowheads.

For Task #16, I have stayed in the Artisans' Workshop to smelt 860 steel and mithril bars. I am making them 20 at a time, so that's 43 inventories, minus the extra bars that get sent to my metal bank (but still count towards the task). So far, I have made 556/860. The other option was to craft 595 pieces of ranged armor from snakeskin or green dragonhide leather. Again, why is blue dragonhide leather not included?

I finished Task #19 by chopping 325 yew logs in Edgeville. When I began this task, I had to chop 330 yew logs, as noted in my previous post. However, after I had chopped 235 yews I reached Woodcutting level 83! :) At this point, my task was changed. After 5 more logs, my task was updated to 240/325. A small reward for gaining a level, I guess you could say.

My Total Level is 1561 (Virtual Level 1562).

To complete Task #20, I can craft or siphon 765 body runes or I can kill 1,113 monsters. I'd prefer combat, but runecrafting would be quicker...not as much fun, but quicker. It's too bad we can't work on both options partway in order to complete these tasks.

Yak To The Shadows update:

I completed Task #20. Once again, I did a little more than I had to do. I siphoned 300 points worth of body runes in the Runespan, which amounted to 429 runes. Then, I teleported to Varrock, mined some rune essence, and made 6 runs to the body altar in Edgeville, where I crafted 386 runes, for a total of 815/765 body runes. Redeeming this task earned me the Zarosian Vigil pet. It's always watching me. O_o That's not disturbing at all! :O :P My list of pets on page 11 has been updated. I now have 43 pets! O_o

Although I chose not to complete this task by killing 1,113 monsters, I did go and kill 13 monsters, just because I wanted to. Rest In Pieces, scorps. :P

Speaking of choosing not to complete tasks, I used a free Yak Track skip to autocomplete Task #21, which was a choice between crafting 705 green dragonhide bodies/shields or completing 9 Abandoned 2 floors in Dungeoneering. Both of those options sounded horribly grindy to me, so I passed - or rather, I skipped. :)

For Task #22, I can either cook swordfish or make wheels of cheese 1,215 times - or string 1,500 bows. O_o The grind just keeps getting worse!

Maybe I'll be lucky enough to find some skips during the beach event. ^_^

Thank you very much, Trewavas! I'm glad you enjoyed what I've done with the ol' thread here - and that you've now officially become part of it! May Guthix have mercy on your soul...I mean, welcome aboard! :D

I don't really mind the challenge of remaining an F2P pure. I like figuring out how to best meet these challenges, and I'm happy to share my tips here and elsewhere on the forums. Besides, others have it worse - imagine completing the Yak Track as an F2P Iron account! :O

Actually, I rarely use any cosmetics, and I find pets to be annoying, mostly. Usually, the only cosmetics I use are the firebrand weapon overrides and the phoenix aura. I do quite like the animations and emotes though. I have fun with those! :)

Feel free to stop by anytime. As for the yak hair, maybe Jagex will release Housekeeping as the next RS skill...or not. :P

I more than completed Task #25 this afternoon by smithing 56/55 sets of rune arrowheads. This gave me 4,200 arrowheads to add to my collection. I now have 65,200 in my bank.

I went on to complete Task #26 - and this was a fun one! :) Where in F2P can one kill a yak? Nowhere I know of, but no worries. I did the Hungry for knowledge task by bringing the Zarosian Vigil pet to the Wizards' Tower and searching 5 different bookcases. Each time, the pet ate one of the books! :O O_o This generated one of three different responses from me. I wonder if this pet will continue this behavior after the Yak Track is over. It would be great if the Yak Tracks had more fun quirky little tasks like this - but then more players would enjoy actually doing the content, instead of buying bonds to purchase task skips so they don't have to grind through the content, which is why we have Yak Tracks at all.

I dismissed the naughty Zarosian Vigil pet, claimed my reward, checked out the next task, and logged out.

Task #27 will require me to either bury 1,200 bones or smelt 1,610 adamant/rune bars. I'm not sure yet which task I'll do. I only know I won't be using my one remaining skip token quite yet, nor will I be buying any. If I find some skip tokens at the beach event, that would be cool...but I'm not counting on it.

Thank you much, Trewavas! :) Skills like Cooking, Fishing, Firemaking, and Woodcutting I don't train much these days, unless I have to for a limited time event like the Yak Track.

I'm still amazed my Cooking and Fishing levels are now equal to my melee combat levels! :O I certainly was not expecting that to happen!

Thanks Threes, but over the past couple of days - between exploring the beach and fighting against a level 5,000,000 lag monster which made the game virtually unplayable on Tuesday - it's been more like hardly grinding! :P Today RS is working so much better! The game only crashed twice so far this afternoon, and the lag is nowhere near as bad as it was Tuesday! :)

Since I've actually been able to play today, you know what it's time for...

I finished Task #27 by burying 1,200 big bones on the beach. The XP I gained from this was not boosted by anti-sun lotion or beach cocktails. However, for a time I did enjoy an 8% XP boost courtesy of some other players who unleashed pulse core blasts while I was in the Dungeoneering hole with them right before I resumed burying bones.

For Task #28, I can either kill 2,004 monsters or cook 1,400 swordfish. Sure, I could also make cheese wheels, but I'm not going to do that! Normally, I'd prefer to kill monsters...but 2,004?! O_o 1,400 swordfish is 50 full inventories, which is grindy but less so than 2,004. I currently have only 102 raw swordfish in my bank, so I will need to either go fishing or go shopping. I expect I will most likely do both.

By the way, I've been training Dungeoneering and Ranged on the beach, as well as doing a little bit of cooking and fishing. I've also attacked Clawdia several times. So far, I've found a total of 0 Yak Track task skips, which doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

I have finished Task #28 by cooking 1,400 swordfish. This rewarded me with a medium prismatic lamp, which I used to attain Prayer level 83! :)

My Total Level is 1564 (Virtual Level 1565).

For Task #29 I could string 1,850 bows or smith 55 adamant/rune items. Yes, obviously I'll be adding to my collection of rune arrowheads.

Yak To The Shadows update:

I completed Task #29 by smithing 55 sets of rune arrowheads.

I have segued straight into Task #30, which will be to make 60 additional sets of rune arrowheads. So far, I have smithed 21/60. Any adamant or rune items would've counted. The other option was to mine 335 luminite/runite ores.

Yak To The Shadows update:

I completed Task #30 by smithing another 4500 rune arrowheads (60 sets) to add to my collection, which is currently at 74,200. A lot of Fletching XP potential there.

Speaking of Fletching, the options for Task #31 are to either string 2,000 bows or to chop 345 yew logs. That's a choice? Are you kidding me? O_o

So I have teleported to Edgeville, where I started cutting yews before coming here to type this update. I chopped the north yew and got 1 log. Then I chopped the south yew and got 27 logs before felling the tree. That's RNG for you. :O :P

While training on the beach, in the Dungeoneering hole, I found a token which I redeemed to receive Bucky, my 44th pet.

My list of pets on page 11 has been updated.

I have finished Task #31 by chopping 364/345 yew logs, which came to 13 full inventories. I burned one full inventory of logs to complete a daily Firemaking challenge. I banked the rest.

Task #32 is a choice between burying 1,500 bones or catching 425 swordfish.

Ugh.

Yak To The Shadows update:

I completed Task #32 by going to Karamja to fish 425 swordfish. After 36 inventories, I ended up with 436 raw swordfish and 476 raw tuna. I also grabbed 26 bananas while I was there.

For Task #33 I can either craft 975 green dragonhide bodies/shields, or burn 1,750 mahogany, yew, or magic logs. I am leaning towards Firemaking.

I still haven't found a single Yak Track skip token on the beach. I am starting to think it's a myth they can even be found as a drop while skilling on the beach.

I am currently on the beach burning yew logs to complete Yak Track Task #33. I have to burn 1,750 logs. As I burned yew log #382, I reached Firemaking level 83! :)

My Total Level is 1565 (Virtual Level 1566).

I've been drinking Purple Lumbridges to gain and maintain the +10% boost to XP.

Right, time to get back to more drunken bonfire building. What could go wrong there?! :P

Shortly after Happy Hour hit the beach this afternoon, I decided to take a break from burning yew logs (I was at 1,253/1,750) to train in the Dungeoneering hole. After about ten minutes of this, I managed to reach Dungeoneering level 82! :)

My Total Level is 1566 (Virtual Level 1567).

Dungeoneering is still my lowest F2P skill, although it would've been tied with Firemaking, if I hadn't raised that skill earlier this afternoon.

In the hole, I found several cocktails, a couple of ice creams, and a Beach apron token.
