First and foremost, I would like to welcome you all to newly-formed Solo Runners Inc Warbands FC :)

I will keep these introductory posts simple, as my name suggests ;) to let you know what we are all about.

In all my years playing RuneScape (10+ but less of them actively) I either a) never did Warbands or b) did it by solo running without or with few items. Of course, at times I would be successful and got my full loot and experience, and at times I would get killed by a random pk'er or a clan occupying that world. I know all of you solo runners out there can relate to that.

I'm playing pretty much actively again (this year marks my fourth consecutive Gold Premier Club package), apart from summer because I'm working two jobs then, and a thought occurred to me. Why wouldn't I try to unite all of us solo runners into a helpful friends' chat with no requirements and no application forms or bunch of rules and try-outs!? No disrespect there to all other chats and clans doing all of that, to each their own. In the beginning, which was not that long ago, I started asking people that I saw looting tents with me if they always run solo, and if the answer was, "mostly or always yes" I added them to my friends' list and we started exchanging calls when we were online together. In time my friends' list got bigger and bigger and it started being harder, although still exciting because of the helping aspect of it all, exchanging calls tent after tent with most or all of my friends doing the particular wave. As you can already guess, from everything aforementioned, Solo Runners Inc friends' chat came to fruition.

In the second post I will go into more detail on the concept of Warbands and then our friends' chat...

So what does "Warbands" actually stand for?

Warbands is an unsafe minigame that occurs in the Wilderness every seven hours.

Three different and possible locations for the camps you can loot are: Dark Warriors' Fortress (DWF, lv10 wilderness, just run north from the Edgeville lodestone); East Lava Maze (ELM, lv41 wilderness, use canoe by Quercus in Edgeville and run north/teleport to a wilderness herb patch with Wilderness Sword 1-4/teleport to Corporeal Beast cave with Games' Necklace and run north-west); Red Dragon Isle (RDI, lv31 wilderness, use canoe by Quercus in Edgeville and run east/teleport to Corporeal Beast cave with Games' Necklace and run east). Of course, if you have access to Wilderness Sword 4, you can use it for one free daily teleport to active Warbands camp!

Warbands offer experience in Herblore, Farming, Construction, Mining and Smithing respectively. With each camp you can get only three active tents out of those five, and you can loot three camps per day, for a maximum of 75 supplies, which give 363k experience at level 99. If you die whilst holding supplies, those WILL count towards your daily limit. Also, if you help with clearing the camp you can get some prayer, summoning and/or slayer experience. Looting from a Warbands' camp will skull you, and while looting you can receive a Wand of Treachery, which will instantly lower your prayer points to zero and announce it to everyone around you. Luckily, Wand isn't worth all that much so on most occasions you will be safe with it. Carrying Warbands' supplies will also tele-block you, put you in a multi-way combat, and make you attackable by anyone regardless of their combat level. You don't want to log out or hop worlds with the supplies though, because they will automatically be deleted, unless you do it outside of the wilderness.

Now for the fun partů

Our friends' chat is open literally to anyone! That means that there are, and will never be, any requirements to join and participate in running with us. It is open 24/7 and I highly encourage everyone to use it and exchange calls/help each other out even if I'm not online! The only "requirement" is to add me as a friend first. With that on mind, we can provide more safety to all of our members and not let a random pk-er in to spy in on and announce our calls somewhere else.

Be friendly and respectful to all other members of the friends' chat! We are here to help each other out, and I mean, that is and should be a common courtesy so insults, hate speech, and similar won't be tolerated and will result in an instant kick and ban.

Try to join 10-15 minutes earlier if you can, just for the sake of better coordination of our members.

During the Warbands' talk only about the Warbands, which is also quite logical and rational. If you can call the tents in your location, but this is not mandatory.

Also, by going to the minigames tab of your interface and clicking Wilderness Warbands you can check how much longer will the tent you're currently looting be up, which is helpful to share and save someone the trouble of running if it will crash soon.

As for the gear there are also no requirements. I ran "naked" most of the time before and did fine. After completing all of the tasks I started using Wilderness Sword 4 with some food (3) to help a bit with clearing the camps and for my free daily teleport. We discussed this matter already in the chat so it's recommended to buy and use royal dragonhide set, which really is not that expensive and a weapon at your disposal so you can also help clear the camp quicker. Again, recommended, not required. I would also suggest buying couple of those and making a bank preset so if you die you can gear up and come back quickly...

Finally, when you get to the camp, stand away from the NPC's that are sparring and click the beam in the middle of the camp to start summoning reinforcements. Repeat this two times until friendly NPC's teleport in. This way, the camp will, if cleared, last longer and provide enough supplies for all of us. Be very careful here not to run too close to the NPC's because it will result in you breaking the beam, and our run will immediately become harder, take longer, and spoil the fun for others' since we'll have to clear it out ourselves. Also, by doing that, the camp will not last as long, and there might not be enough supplies for everyone participating.

As a final note, if you brought some gear to help with clearing the camp, do not attack anyone else other than the aforementioned NPC's. That of course means other members of our friends' chat (purple dots), but also other players in general (white dots). If it so happens that we stumble upon a clan-related world, do your best to survive. On the other hand, if a random pk'er starts attacking one of our own members, I do expect everyone else to attack the said pk'er, if you are geared of course. That should surprise, and eventually kill him so we can all get back to looting the camp :)

I think that's really all I had to say in these couple of short posts. I reserved few more spaces so if the need arises I can use them later. Feel free to comment, even more-so to add me and start running with our friends' chat. We will be extremely glad to see you there, because my one and only reasoning for making this chat in the first place was truly to help as many people as I (and all of us here) can to get the most out of this amazing and rewarding minigame, so you get those 99's/120's faster.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT!

In an effort to bring our members closer together, make everything more sociable, expand our friends' chat beyond, "just Warbands", create a tight-knit community, and, most important, have fun, we are starting with weekly bossing masses :)

Every Saturday or Sunday at 17 GMT (game-time clock) there will be a weekly event in that regard. Occasional masses on the weekdays are possible as well but will be arranged through the friends' chat.

This week (which will be updated regularly): ...
