Welcome to the home thread for the Friends Chat:
F2pIronmanFC

(Our FC (friends chat) recruitment thread can be found by clicking HERE.)

This is our FC information hub for those of our regulars who prefer not to access our offsite forums to use. It will give you more in depth information about our friends chat than has previously been posted on our recruitment thread. Our offsite forums are of course the primary focus of our out of game interactions, but you may also use this thread for ‘ FC family’ interactions/discussion.

For those stumbling on this thread who are new to the FC, don’t worry, you don’t have to read all this before you drop in the FC! It’s merely a comprehensive reference for those who want more details about particular aspects or our FC community. Feel free to post here yourselves, or on our recruitment thread.

General Information

F2PIronmanFC has been going since January 2015. We are the oldest existing friends chat aimed at f2p iron players, active around the clock, and over the years we have become the central hub for the f2p ironmode community to hang out. Some players just like to drop in and out to get some advice, but at the heart of our FC family is a solid base of regulars who make the chat what it is today, and help to provide a friendly, welcoming, helpful and inclusive environment for all.

The Friends Chat is aimed at RS3 Ironman/woman players (both legacy and eoc) who are free to play. Both regular Ironman and Hardcore Ironman players are welcome. All are also welcome on their non-iron or P2P accounts, providing they respect our F2p Ironman focus.

Our ethos:

Respectfulness, friendliness, helpfulness, encouragement and inclusivity, focussing on the free to play ironmode style of play. (Click here for our policies on P2P/mainscape related chat and accounts in FC.)

We are proud of the atmosphere of friendly, non-patronising helpfulness that is a marked aspect of our chat. Friendly and often humorous interaction have become a big part of what we are about.

We ask all our regulars to help nurture the atmosphere that we so value. This FC family belongs to us all!

Homeworld:

We have an unofficial homeworld, W29, where we tend to hold any events etc, and those of us hoping to bump into other f2p irons often play on that server. It is entirely optional though of course!

What We Offer

• A free to play ironman focussed chat that you can hang out in at the same time as your regular clan chat.

• Offsite forums, where we post screenies of our game play, tips and guides, and anything else we think might be of interest to our community. You can find our forums here:
http://f2pironmanfc.forumotion.co.uk/
If you choose to register to have posting permissions and to see the full site, please use a name related to your RSN so that we know who you are, and do not use the same email you use for your RS account. There may be a slight delay before the forums admin authorise your account.

• A Discord channel, for voice chat or out of game text chat.
You can access that here:
https://discord.gg/GNYDVYk

• A team of regulars dedicated to encouraging and strengthening the community feel of our FC (the Community Activist team) through optional events and other initiatives, with opportunities for others to join this team to help out in this aspect.

• A team of mature, responsible players, (including two player moderators), who moderate the chat sensitively to ensure it remains a pleasant place to be for all. There are opportunities for players with the right characteristics to help out on this team.

Help Spread the Word!

Help in spreading the word is always much appreciated. Most of our regulars came to us through word of mouth, so bear us in mind when you run across other ironmen/women on free worlds. We’re onto something good here, let's share it around and help other isolated f2p Ironies get in touch with each other too!
Do bump our recruitment thread here too while you’re on the forums!

FC Behaviour Guidelines

As stated in the FC moderation guidelines, the overall guiding principles are keep to RuneScape rules, respect the F2P Ironman focus of our chat, and ensure that the FC environment is a welcoming and pleasant environment for all its users, regardless of their culture, religious/political beliefs, race, gender, sexuality, age, style of play, or any other distinguishing characteristic.

Users of the Friends Chat are expected to treat other FC users with the respect and consideration that they wish to be treated with themselves.

FC Behaviour Guidelines (Continued from above)

Below are a few examples of behaviour in the FC that we will NOT tolerate, due to the likelihood of it causing disruption.

• Breaking the game rules.

• Crude/vulgar topics.

• Using the FC to glean information about the whereabouts of players in the wildy, in order to PK them. (This will result in a ban)

Please note that the above is not an exhaustive list. Other than those specific examples, a simple rule of thumb should be, ‘if in doubt, leave it out’.

Please also avoid P2P game content chat in FC (click HERE for our policy on p2p and non-iron related chat and accounts in FC).

Further details of all of the above can be found in the FC Moderators' guidelines' HERE.
Advertising other chats in our own, is permitted only under certain conditions. (Refer to the thread 'Advertising Other Chats', in this forum section.) Infringement of those conditions may result in a warning, kick or ban, depending on the circumstances.

Stong Language

Occasional use of strong language when appropriate to add emphasis will be tolerated in FC, but if it becomes so frequent as to start to negatively affect the feel of the chat, the player may be requested to tone down the language. All players will be expected to be considerate of others in the FC at any time and adapt their language accordingly. Of course there will be zero tolerance towards strong language directed at another player with the intention to offend.

Inappropriate Names

Players with names that could be seen as inappropriate should be aware that after discussion within the FC Mod team, they may lose access to the FC until such a time as they change their username.

Players are welcome to politely request others to adhere to our guidelines in FC, but avoid getting into arguments at all costs. PM a FC Mod if needed.

P2P and Non-iron Chat/Accounts: Policy

The friends chat has an all-inclusive policy. Players of all types are permitted in the chat.

P2P accounts in the FC

Pay-to-Play players are welcome in the chat, but please avoid raising any P2P game content chat in the FC. This is to avoid confusion and non-relevant spam for the F2P players who use our Friends Chat. No problem with mentioning a milestone achievement as you get it, but nothing likely to start a P2P conversation.

For P2P content chat, please visit one of the many P2P iron clans. We also have an affiliated clan chat, 'p2pironmanfc', to enable the P2P frequenters of f2pironmanfc to chat freely about their p2p content without having to drop out of f2pironmanfc. Players can guest in that P2P focussed clan chat, they do not have to leave their own clan chats or the FC to do so.

Repeated flouting of our policy on P2P chat in FC may result in a kick on the third offence.

Occasionally, our policy on P2P chat will be relaxed for a limited period due to other factors, such as Iron accounts being given a free weekend trial of P2P. Those circumstances will be very rare though and will only affect the FC for a short time. Even during such periods though, if a FC Mod requests that a particular P2P content conversation is curtailed, that must be respected.

Non-Iron accounts in the FC

The main or alternative non-iron accounts of FC regulars are also welcome to hang out in the chat, or any regular accounts who are just looking into the possibility of starting an Iron account and would like some information/advice on that. We expect all players in FC who have ‘mainscape’ accounts, to respect the Iron mode focus of our chat and to keep talk about non-Iron game content to a minimum. FC Moderators will be ranked on all their accounts, iron or non-iron, F2P or P2P, to enable them to monitor the chat and keep it a happy place! :)

Promoting Other Chats in FC

Anyone is welcome to promote either a clan chat or a friends chat, including those any which cover the same remit as F2Pironmanfc, with the following conditions:

1. It must be done sensitively in a way that does not disrupt the chat or cause annoyance. FC moderators’ opinions on what is deemed excessive or disruptive should be accepted without argument and their requests to desist for a time should be respected.

2. Our own FC is not denigrated/criticised either overtly or implicitly in order to gain support for an alternative chat. If the promoted chat is found to be facilitating a culture of criticism of our own FC in theirs, promotion permissions will be retracted.

3. Advertising permissions must be reciprocal (ie users of our own FC must also be welcome to promote F2pIronmanFC in the same chat which a player is promoting in our own FC).

4. Our FC thread on the RS forums and our offsite forums here should not be used to advertise other chats, except by permission. Other chats are expected to create their own RuneScape forum threads rather than use ours.

5. The promoted chat should not be misrepresented, whether in pm/public chat or in the FC. For example, there should be no false claims of official or unofficial affiliation with F2PIronmanFC.

Promoting Other Chats in FC (Additional Information)

Obviously, we won’t be too bothered if someone has not first sought permission from their clan leaders for any mention of F2pIronmanFC in their clan’s chat before they mention their clan in F2pIronmanFC. Likewise, in the case of a friends chat covering a different remit, which is more of the 'drop in drop out' type for a specific purpose. However if the chat is a friends chat specifically covering the same or a similar area to our own, the above conditions will be adhered to strictly. Under those circumstances we would expect to hear from the alternative chat owner/leader to confirm that promotion permissions are reciprocal and that 'bad-mouthing' f2pironmanfc in their chat will be actively discouraged, before mention of the similar FC is permitted in our own FC.

Please also note that group leaders/owners (FCs and CCs) are liable to be held personally responsible for inappropriate advertising of their own groups that is undertaken by another player. It is the group leader’s responsibility to ensure that all those with connections to their group also adhere to our advertising conditions in FC, and to any further restrictions that may have been placed on advertising their particular group, due to a previous breach of our conditions. We would hope that a group owner would take steps to resolve any such issues internally within their group, so that action against them would not prove to be necessary.

The FC Teams

The term ‘rank’, is perhaps misleading since it is necessarily hierarchical and fails to represent the role of those who have agreed to take on some area of responsibility in the friends chat.

There are two teams within the Friends Chat, focussing on different areas, both of whose contributions are equally valued, the FC Moderation team (FC Mods) and the Community Activist team (CAs). Players with a star symbol in FC, are FC Mods and have moderating responsibilities in the chat. Players with a three stripes symbol are members of the CA team, responsible for enabling and encouraging FC users involvement in the community aspect of the FC. A few players may be in both teams, but on the whole, they are distinct since different qualities are required for each role. The symbols chosen do not indicate relative importance neither are they a step in ‘career progression’.

The ‘Ranks’ icons

(Three Stripes): Members of the CA team. Active, friendly players with experience playing on a F2P Iron account, who love interacting with others and getting involved with F2pIronmanFC community initiatives.

(Gold star in FC): Curators of the FC - involved in both the FC Mod team and the CA team. Kicking permissions in FC.

(Silver star in FC): FC Mods - trusted mature players with experience playing on a F2P Iron account, (they may also be added on their non-iron/P2P accounts). Kicking permissions in FC. They may or may not also be involved in the CA team.

(Smiley faces in FC): may occasionally be given for a temporary period in the friends chat as a recognition of some sort (eg winning FC events, hosting an event etc). Smileys are normally removed after a month, unless the contribution of the player who has received a smiley is on-going.

FC Moderators

The sole role of an FC moderator (silver and gold star symbols in FC) is to help maintain an environment in the chat that is both pleasant and constructive for all. To enable them to do that they have powers to kick disruptive players at their discretion. In most situations a warning will be given first, usually by pm if that is possible. If the behaviour is repeated, the offender will then be kicked. In extreme situations though, FC moderators may kick without a warning.

The star symbol in the FC is not a reward in any sense. It merely indicates that a tool has been given to a player who has displayed the necessary character traits, to enable them to help keep the chat a pleasant place to be.

Criteria for Invitation to FC Mod Team

Bearing in mind that the sole responsibility of a FC moderator is to maintain a pleasant chat environment, players are not invited because of their knowledge, skill levels, events they have organised, time of playing Ironman, or length of time in the FC. The only qualities taken into consideration are their maturity and ability to relate to others with respect, friendliness and sensitivity. The ability to diffuse a potentially volatile situation tactfully rather than jump in on one side and fuel the fire, is particularly valued.

FC moderators are not expected to have all the answers, or to always be on call for giving advice. Thankfully, we have many much valued knowledgeable and experienced players in FC who are happy to share their knowledge with others.

In addition to the personal characteristics required, a prospective FC mod must have been in chat for at least long enough for several current FC mods to be confident that they have the necessary qualities to fulfil the role well. They must also have played on an F2P Ironman account (either currently or previously) for long enough to have a good idea of what that entails.

A 'new' FC Mod who you have not seen in FC before, may sometimes be seen. In that case, it is probably the alt of an existing FC mod. You can check the list here for FC mod's alts that also have silver stars in the chat.

Process for recruiting new FC Mods

1. A potentially suitable candidate is recommended to the team by one of the current FC Moderators.

2. A minimum two week period is given, to give other FC Mods who may be less familiar with the candidate, a chance to watch them and develop an opinion. This period may be greater if that process is taking longer, for example if the person recommended is on a different time zone or is currently not so active.

3. Current FC mods feedback their views on the proposed FC mod to the team.

4. The team arrive at a consensus on whether to invite them or not.

5. If it is decided that the candidate is suitable, the one of the Curators will invite them to help out on the team.

FC Mod Removals

We anticipate that the need for enforced removal of FC mod permissions will be extremely rare, as we choose players to invite very carefully and cautiously. However, it would be foolish to assume that the need for that to happen will never arise.

There are certain expectations of those who moderate the chat, which if they persistently ignore, will necessitate the removal of their star in FC. That doesn’t necessarily mean they have done something terrible, just that they are unwilling to take on the limitations that the role involves regarding the way they interact with others. To some extent, there are higher expectations of FC mods than there are of other FC users, and that does not necessarily suit everyone.

To protect the person’s privacy, reasons for a compulsory removal of their FC mod responsibilities will not be posted publicly, unless they choose to raise it publicly themselves. They are of course free to tell anyone else they wish to themselves and would still be very welcome in the chat of course.

Also, to state the obvious, any FC moderator is free to step down from their volunteering at any time they wish to, either for a temporary period or permanently.

FC Moderation Guidelines

For the sake of transparency, a summary of the guidelines our FC Mod team have agreed to abide by, is given here and in the post below. The full version of our Moderation Guidelines can be referred to on our offsite forums:

“Moderating Guidelines

The overall guiding principles are to ensure that those in the chat keep to RuneScape rules, respect the F2P Ironman focus of our chat, and ensure that the FC environment is a welcoming and pleasant environment for all its users, regardless of their culture, religious/political beliefs, race, gender, sexuality, age, style of play, or any other distinguishing characteristic.

Those principles should be the factors you consider when deciding whether or not to take any actions as moderators in the chat. Within that remit, I trust you teammates to use your judgement and discretion in the many varying situations that you may encounter.

Kicking should always be a last resort, and used only after careful consideration! [/i]”

FC Moderation Guidelines: Procedure

If players are overstepping the mark in any respect, a general request in fc to change or drop the subject should be the first approach to try to keep it less personal. If it continues, give a direct warning in pm to stop, or if pm is not possible, in FC. Again if it continues after that, a kick would be appropriate. Before pming a player to warn them, permission to pm should be requested in FC, whether or not they have their private chat on, in order for the rest of the FC to be aware that the issue is not being ignored.

When immediately kicking a player for a non-obvious reason, the Friends Chat should be informed in general terms of the reason (eg alt of banned player etc).

In the case of breaking RuneScape rules, you may feel an instant kick is necessary to protect those in the FC. This will be dependent on the nature of the rule breaking, and whether you believe the offender to be aware that they are breaking game rules. For example, any attempts to lure or scam should not be tolerated. In some other situations a warning will be sufficient or you may even feel that no action at all is necessary.

If possible it would be helpful to allow a player that you have kicked to contact you in pm to discuss it. That may help to prevent them returning on an alt to question it in FC, or help them to understand exactly what they did that was unacceptable.

Community Activists

The central thing about this role, as the name implies, is activity! These players are the life and soul of the FC: friendly, amiable, chatty, helpful, enthusiastic, full of ideas and motivation regarding the FC and known by all the FC regulars. They are committed to developing our FC community spirit and to making the FC a fun and exciting place to hang out.
Facilitating the CA team in their endeavours is the responsibility of the CA team Coordinator, ‘facilitation’ being the pertinent word. The CA team Co-ordinator is no more or less important than any other CA team member but is there to help things run smoothly.

Criteria for Invitation to the CA team

• Enthusiastic involvement in the chat

• Active in game

• Friendly/welcoming

• Helpful/willing to give in game advice and tips

• A demonstrated interest in attending/organising ‘events’ in a broad sense (forum, in-game, Discord etc)

• Willing to register on our forums

• Have had, or do have, considerable experience playing f2p iron themselves

• Adhere to our guidelines for behaviour in chat

• Have been active in the FC for at least 8 weeks

(See below for CA team recruitment and removals)

Process of Recruiting to the CA team

1. Prospective recruits will be identified and proposed by any current member of the CA team.

2. The CA team will consider the player’s suitability for a further two weeks minimum.

3. The CA team Coordinator will summarise the team’s feedback and make a decision based on it.

4. If the candidate is approved, the CA team Coordinator will invite them to join the team.

CA Team Removals

Since activity is a crucial aspect in this team, the team will be far more fluid than the FC Moderation team in terms of people coming, going and returning. CA team members are expected to withdraw formally from the team if they have a temporary period of reduced activity, and will be readily reinstated once they return to greater activity again. You are therefore likely to see the three stripes symbol disappear and reappear from players fairly frequently – that won’t be because they have done something dreadful!
In the case of prolonged inactivity without notice, the CA team Co-ordinator will make a recommendation to the Curators of a player to be withdrawn from the team.

Other Ironman Chats

If you know of any active Friends Chats covering RS3 P2P Iron accounts, or Oldschool Iron accounts, please do feel free to post them here, and I will give them coverage on the thread.

I have not found any general Friends Chats for P2P Iron accounts that are active, but there is now a clan chat set up that is affiliated to f2pironmanfc. It is intended for those P2P iron accounts who wish to remain active in f2pironmanfc to guest in at the same time and chat about their P2P content there! Thanks to Sarthari and HC autumn, two P2P regulars of f2pironmanfc for running that. That clan chat is not operating as a clan as such, in function it is more of a simultaneous chat facility, since we can only be in one friends chat at the same time.
The affiliated clan chat is called: '
p2pironmanfc
'. (Yes, despite the name it is a cc not a fc.)

A Friends Chat mainly occupied by Old School Iron players. Though very active, it appears not to be maintained by the account owner, so no ranks etc.

Monthly Clan Competitions

What are they and what can I win?

The skill competitions were created for players to compete against each other in a friendly matter. Players will have one week to get the most experience in that given skill, this is to keep them motivated to progress further on their accounts and to keep them interested in our clan.

Only players that are a part of the clan can choose which skills are being used in these competitions. The winner at the end of each competition can choose the next skill that will be used for the next competition, or open up a vote to let others decide.

The winner and runner-up will also be given a rank in F2PironmanFC for one month.

How do I enter?

People part of our clan will be automatically entered with each competition. Any other F2Pim players will have to leave a comment saying they want to enter.

What are the Rules?

1. Only non-combat skills can be used.
- That way skillers can also participate.

2. Every competition will be announced at the start of each new month.
- So players can prepare themselves.

3. Every competition will start one week after it is announced, and will run for one week.

4. The same skill cannot be used twice in a row.
- Keep things interesting for everyone.

Best of luck to everyone!

Start date: September 11th, 2017
End date: September 18th, 2017
Skill: Fishing
Host: F2P Ironman Clan
Rewards: A bond for the winner, donated by I Am Cats, and smiley faces in our FC for the winner and runner up for a month.

A wonderful time was had by all participants in our Spooktober events! Thank you to those who came to join in the fun and make it so special. A particular big thank you too to our own FC Community Activitist, Florisvbelle, for liasing between our FC and Elderberries clan to make all this happen! AKA Treemaid

FC Event tomorrow!

What:
Bring your unwanted crater event tokens from your iron accounts to put in the falador party room chest, and bring your regular accounts to burst the balloons and get the goodies!

Where:
Falador Party room (north east of Fally east bank).

When:
Tuesday 7th November, 5pm game time (GMT)

Amongst the goodies, there will be at least one wolpertinger pet token (worth a couple of mill I think), and 4 different parasol tokens from the previous event.

Don't miss out!

By the way, in the light of a recent revelation by Mod Stu on Twitter that the coding for ghosts suggests they only drop cremation in P2P currently (possibly a bug), if any of you lovely iron f2p players get cremation from now on, would you mind letting us know?

Ta muchly! :)

THREE YEAR F2PIRONMANFC ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS!

Thanks to all who have chipped in with ideas, to Rune Society for collating those ideas, and to Florisvbelle for designing and hosting an event incorporating as many of them as we can!

So! This is the plan! (Copied from Floris' post on our offsite forums)

"Hear ye, here ye, be there ye or be square ye, Master of Heads, Grand Archmage of the School of Ad Verbatim Floris, hereby invites all Ironmen, women, mortal, biological, sentient, and other personalities to come to the Blue Moon Inn, located south of Varrock city centre, on this very Sunday morning (when the sun rises in Gielinor) (that means game time morning), to partake in an intense discussion of the magical farts, the taste of beer, the ability to advice alliterations and avoiding alarms and all atrocious assaults. Or, to put it in the words of those not gifted with the curse of Tongue and Party Puns, we're gonna consume a metric ton of alcohol (in game, real life participation is purely voluntary and not required), and get into a very punny atmosphere while we're discussing theoretical magical practicalities, boasting about our iron achievements, reliving great moments of the FC over the three years past, and eventually we'll derail into a semi-item hunt, that will be derailed further by the person you need to hand the items over making a break for it.

And anyone who has experience with hide and seek with Floris knows what that means.

Mandatory for all to wear is a Wizard's outfit, black or blue are both fine, you can acquire them from either the black wizards, or from ye olde magick shoppe near Nautilus Departus et Arrivus Sarim (Port Sarim). After we are done terrorising the poor innkeeper of the Blue Moon Inn and have gathered all the items, we shall do what drunk wizards do best. We will invade a place of wealth (the Grand Exchange) and we shall set it on fire!"

"Or to put it in terms that won't get me in a magical shoot-out with the wizard police, we'll lit campfires as a group to spell 'Iron Man'.

I hope to see you all there! For those who can't attend, I've put a soulstone into one of Runescape's many trees, so you'll have a living Tree attend to you in the late afternoon!

Participants earn a smiley for the month!
" (Florisvbelle)

Just to add to, and further explain, Floris' enigmatic comment at the end, during the afternoon and evening, when I am able to get in game, I shall endeavour to get as many ingame screenies of our regulars as I can (your help gathering together would be appreciated!), to provide the raw material for a 3 year anniversary celebration collage for our offsite forums. Volunteers with the expertise to make those into a collage, who are already registered on our forums or are happy to do so, would be much appreciated!

Always a sad day when one of our own loses their HCIM status. :(

Dear Yah, we grieve at the thought of your grief, we weep at the thought of your tears
That a dark despair should so grip your heart that you cast off the work of years.
You sallied forth with your dire grim task to slay a king dragon so black
Believing deep down, that this was your last, you were never coming back.

Your grief led to anger, the fight was fierce, you flung out your magic attack.
The Kbd was caught unawares. Unable to take the flack
He crashed to the ground, defeated and slain, of fires and life bereft.
While you in surprise, your staff still held high, gazed down on his body in death.

Yet even this, was not enough to quench despair so deep
For Yah with Death, a pact had made, that he was determined to keep.
Again he let fly, with staff raised high, spells flung at this fearsome foe,
Yet this time round he had no chance, his health was already low.

His mystic robes swirled round him in the wind from the dragon’s fire
He could no longer bear the heat – gave up to Death’s desire.
Oh sweet brave warrior, heart so true, yet caught in such dark despair,
Never again will your like be found, not here, nor anywhere.

Yah 1 3 T, we mourn with thee, thy tears shall be our own,
‘Til once again, through all this pain
The seeds of hope be sown.

RIP Yah13T

SPRING FAYRE TOKEN FALADOR PARTY ROOM EVENT TOMOROW!

Don’t know what to do with all those duplicate spring fayre tokens cluttering up your bank? This event is the solution!

Tomorrow, Friday 6th April, 6pm gametime (7pm UK time), we’ll have a token drop party at Falador Party Room. Drop those tokens from your iron accounts into the chest and bring along your mainscape accounts to scrabble for them!

Can’t make it? Don’t worry, we’ll have another event nearer to the end, or perhaps just after the end of the Spring Fayre. Any offers to host that one, or any intermediate ones, gratefully received! Just post here, or on our offsite forums event thread, or let us know in game when you can manage that.

Also commiserations to two more deceased Hardcores from our FC community, Primitive Cats and Mirai Wild. May their hardcore bones rest easy!

There once was a hardcore named Primitive Cats
Who snubbed all the orcs, all the goblins and rats.
There was just one target one thing he desired:
A wildy tier 10 hat so he’d be admired.

So into the wildy will gusto he barged
To kill all the bots there. With roaring he charged.
And many a bot in the fight lost its life,
Though little Cats knew of the impending strife!

For into the wildy a pker stole
A sneaky pker, name of Thydrago.
And while Cats was swinging his sword, unbeknown
This sneaky pker laid our hero prone!

So come all you hardcores, from this tale take heed
A hat’s well and good, but a life you still need!

RIP Primitive Cats
We will remember!

Sleepy Mirai Wild went a walking in the wild
'Twas 5am, her fuddled brain had made her like a child.
Her stroll was near the bandit camp, though yet she knew no fear
Since she had no intention to approach a bandit there.

Alas her sleepy fuddled head! A pker appeared
Then Mirai in a panic was certainly afeared!
No food she had, she fled forthwith, in blind panic distraught!
Alas, into a bandit’s hands our heroine was caught!

She died to him, (oh sorry tale!) while pker looked on,
And now our Mirai’s hardcore skull, so tragically has gone!
Her life was short, and bitter-sweet, she lived it wild and free!
Our Mirai Wild has earned her place within our memory.

RIP Mirai Wild
We will remember!

It’s that time of year again: the
anniversary of our friends chat on 28th January
! Yes, we’ve been going for four years!

And to celebrate the occasion, we will be having two quizzes based on the theme: ‘how well do you know your FC?’ and a five million gold pieces reward to each of the winners (most of which has been kindly donated by our very own Mat Mase/Mueez). If there is a tie, the winnings will be divided equally. Obviously, ironman accounts cannot receive the prize to that account, but it will be given to whichever account the winner nominates, either a non-iron alt of theirs, or even another player if they’re feeling generous! The winners will also receive a smiley face in FC for a month.

One of the quizzes will be at 17:30 game time, 28th January, hosted by myself, and the other will be hosted by Matko, at 05:00 game time.

The questions will all be related to our friends chat in some way, so you can get a head start by exploring our offsite forums, and/or our RS forums thread in the ‘Clan Home’ forum (do a thread search in the RS forums for ‘f2pironmanfc’).

I should add, all those ranked in FC already, are excluded from the quizzes, since they have already had access to the questions, and as a team, we’d like to do something nice our regulars who together make the FC what it has become today. :)

Kami Onyx was a peaceful soul, yet needed runes of law.
He took himself to the wilderness to purchase there some more.
Alas, he told in our friends chat, his method them to gain
Whilst unbeknown to all of us, a Pker lurked within.

So Kami, heedless, ventured forth unto the mage arena
Whilst pker, evil in his eyes, crept closer, ever keener
And smited our dear Kami down, so merciless and cruel,
Full mindless of the the pain he brought unto our weeping souls!

Stefario the brave, in rage, then brought Kami’s revenge,
He sought and killed that foul pker, and brought him to his end.
Yet Kami Onyx still lies dead, his like we’ll see no more
Until that day we meet again beyond death’s sullen shore.

RIP Kami Onyx

Congratulations to Wobbegong on winning our Discord pumpkin carving competition!

And on a more sombre note, as is our FC tradition, a poem to commemorate the loss of one of our hardcore regulars, may she forever rest in peace in the great hardcore havens in the sky!

Great in Wisdom, was Athene, as her name declares to all
Yet her wisdom could not save her, for DC brought on her fall.
Clothed in mystic armour with a Nat staff in her hand,
She sought to save fair Falador from the blight that scoured its land.

Down through fetid tunnels she crept in dreadful dark
Her target oft' had slain her friends - the Mole! That was her mark!
With spell on spell she fought him and brought him near to death
Yet suddenly, was whisked away! She could not see the rest!

The jar of life, her safety line, least that was what she thought,
Yet she found out to her horror that it never had been bought!
For when she tried to play again, to finish off the mole
She found that she was blocked from game - had lost her hardcore soul!

Alas for fair Athene! Our grief shall have no balm!
We rue the day that DC took Athene from our arms!

RIP Athene

Redrein was bold and fearless
His prowess he doubted not.
On hearing of the giant mole
His blood was broiling hot!

Down to the lair of this foul beast
He bravely ventured hence
Yet rocks were falling, falling,
On his helmet raining dents!

One last and weighty rock
Then crushed him to the ground
Like rain of red was Redrein’s blood
Which splattered all around.

So now’s the time for weeping
As we remember Red
For all our dreams of life and joy
Lie motionless and dead

RIP Redrein!
