Only 2 quests last year, one of them a simple bottle quest, and no mention of any plans for 2019. There was a great buildup in the storyline in 2014-2016 where the storyline was actually significant in the game, is the golden age of questing over? :( I hope to see some more quests this year

It was 4 quests actually - still not too much (especially since 3 of them were novice ones), but actually the double amount you've said.

For 2019 they have two quests planned currently - also only novice stuff though. One in february and one in april.

They're supposed to be doing some under-the-hood updates to make it easier to develop quests, but we'll have to see how that pans out. Only 11% of players even played Sliske's Endgame, and while they have announced the next storyline, I've seen plenty of complaints about how they're resetting the quest requirements again for that quest, since we're apparently going to have another Missing, Presumed Death.

The was a small bit in this month's BTS that was slightly encouraging, where they said they'll be making slight improvements to While Guthix Sleeps and Children of Mah. Considering how both of those quests are required for Sliske's Endgame, I have to wonder if they'll be making those two quests more accessible, because they would be the biggest obstacles preventing more players from getting to Sliske's Endgame.

(That, and the atrocious Bandosian afterlife section in Nomad's Elegy, but they're not doing anything with that quest, so whatever)

according to Mod Stu in the last dev Q&A livestream on the 29th, the under the hood changes only shave off a few hours in the total dev time.

Upcoming quest in February:
Chef's Assistant - sequel to Cook's Assistant, F2P

We would agree that regardless of the profitability of the loot box trade, the risks associated with them are worryingly high

This is where they went wrong. Sounds like they're going to keep going wronger. Gg.

Wow you guys sure are whiny. Bunch of Negative Nancys here. I bet if they added a high-level quest every month, you'd still find something to complain about.

I for one am quite happy to see more novice quests after an onslaught of GM quests with increasing prerequisites. It was getting way out of hand.

You know the last GM quest release was in 2016?

I would clearly prefer if they were to more mid levelled stuff (i.e. intended for players with stats between 40 and 70) though: Novice quests (especially p2p exclusives) do not really help anyone, except for telling a fun story (do not get wrong, I liked the humour of chef's assistant - but it just didn't contribute anything relevant like the uri/charos quest last year did) and it wouldn't be like players had too much of downtimes (phases they have to grind out for a while to fulfill requirements for higher levelled quests) at those levels - and as you've correctly acknowledged they are doing a lot for high levelled players (not necessarily quests though).

Medium levelled (and also lower high levelled) quests would certainly also help more with the increasing prerequisited slightly more than a novice one ever could. Wouldn't you agree with that?

They've basically just cut the majority of requirements Endgame has.

But yep - it is of course a great idea using both players who aren't interested at all in quests unless they're getting something for it they'd absolutely need (which endgame certainly hasn't - it literally has nothing but a few skilling items that are outperformed by easier to access newer releases (sure the catalyst still is nice, but necklace and ring are worthless by now) and an extremely generous xp reward), as well as players who aren't able to the do in the forseeable future, for that statistic.

Original message details are unavailable.
If you don't have the Cooking level for making butter, the Head Chef will offer to sell you some butter at the point where he says "I need you to bring cream cheese, a pot of cream, biscuits and a cake tin, so I can show you how to make cheesecake." If you're not seeing that option, please submit a bug report so we can look into it :)
