Irl one of the earliest weapons humanity had was the throwing club or throwing stick, basically it was a piece of wood that hunters would throw at small animals, it was a simple yet effective weapon
I would like to propose that throwing clubs be added to runescape for both f2p and p2p
Basically my idea is this, you use a knife on logs and from each log you can craft 5 throwing clubs, they are stackable and are a thrown weapon.
The advantages of this weapon would be as follows
1. they would be very easy and cheap to make for players, you just use a knife on logs and that’s it, no feathers or smithing required
2.additionally it provides an alternative for woodcutters who don’t want to drop every log in their inventory or bank or trade them or burn them or make them into arrow shafts, they can instead just craft some clubs and gain cheap weapons and some xp,
3. great for giveaways for new players
4. Ideal for cheap ranged training and for people who don’t want to use the chargebow
5. They could be added as a cool new hunter item and tool for current or new hunting targets
The disadvantage of the throwing clubs are as follows
They are quite weak since they are just wood you throw, they are even weaker then darts or knives, maybe they are half as strong as darts or knives or even a third as strong
They have a range of 6 and a speed of Average (3.6s) so not too far of a range and sorta slow
They are weak even at high high levels so using them on nex is not ideal, they would be best for training ranged for low levels or medium levels and for players with low cash
To make them it could be part of the fletching skill or crafting skill, they would give ok xp but again is meant for alternatives for woodcutters
The throwing clubs would follow the usual tier system for wood and maybe use the crossbow stock as a base for what level you need to wield them
