I just completed the recent survey for future content and saw the summoning update as a question multiple times and pets also being considered to level up but I didn’t see anywhere there to leave suggestions. I think I have a good solution to evolving summoning as well as pets and making it no longer as repetitive, more rewarding, and using the same implemented system and materials.
Here’s my plan.
Have shrine
At shrine create summon with materials
Go out and use summon to train it and give it xp, leveling it up
At each level, require the player to return to the shrine and use more materials to truly reach the next level
Have summoning have 4 item slots, gain items through rare drop table, whilst skilling or bossing.
Modify the current summoning creatures in the game to all have unique abilities (as most already do) and make it so the scale evenly throughout the levels required to first summon it, however make it so that summoning xp is given when reaching level ‘thresholds’ on each creature, more given for the level required to summon it (all required summoning levels can stay the same).
Things such as bronze-rune minotaurs may need to be changed or removed for lack of redundancy, possibly having the Minotaur evolve through the forms, or giving each type a unique style and reason to level.
This will give inventive to use summoning creatures and will be rewarding as you can choose a style your prefer rather than everyone using steel titans.
Creatures leveling up can have minor rewards other than xp, maybe things such as cosmetics every few levels or less energy cost for abilities.
I suggested items and item slots earlier, I did this because it seemed in the survey you had a desire to expand the amount of items and drops in the game, if not then ignore that part of the suggestion. However; items could give simple buffs such as attack speed, damage, critical strike chance or damage. Or even simply abilities like auras.
I’ve run out of characters :(

yes, they just had it repeat over and over it was a dum survey... its like they keep trying to put leveling summoning or pets down and dealing each type, Than have ranking matches was my understanding of it.... It seemed little annoying how they are trying to make pet dealing a real thing inside RuneScape... Its like they want to make Pokémon GO.

I think this will make unbalanced game play... This also make it if you dont take pets inside bossing rooms you screwed.. I do not want to take a pet each time to fight a boss to get a higher hand in the boss fight... Next they be putting pet skills to balance out player skills.... I just dont like the idea...
