Robin Hoo d , I posted on page 52 a short version of what the negatives are.

I'd love to also add that when this prestige thing goes in, a lot of open possibilities will simply be impossible anymore, because they have implemented this system. What they offer here is a (bad) alternative to race to 200 million experience, resulting in a lot more redundant items flowing into the game , while gobbling up all the resources with the wealth a big portion of us high level players have obtained.

With a reset a lot of skills will generate a lot more garbage, and newcomers will be rewarded by handing in their resources , rather than having the satisfaction of delivering self-made products people actually will use.

If you'd continue in prestige to create new kinds of items that sinkholes others , like they intend to do with the new skill as well, like they did with summoning also, I see a brighter future than this silly alternative.

Again I prefer to see a positive community, rather than being in a list with people who achieved the same as you.

"generate a lot more garbage" ? being resources? How would this be a bad thing, if more people are training, more people are buying items, more people are selling items. It's a cycle, the same as it is now.

Also, what is wrong with newcomers being able to make money? and what's wrong with higher wealth players having to spend their money - if they choose to do so - on leveling skills again? Newcomers are more likely to stay if areas that they level actually have people there.

and what's the point of having a stack of cash in your bank with nothing to spend it on?

The game will no longer be a race to 200m xp. Hiscores are not meant to cap and sit on the same players forever. They're meant to be a constant race to see who really is the top player - the person willing to spend that time and effort to be the "best"

I voted yes, but that was probably a mistake. It is a really nice idea to try to make gameplay more rewarding, but you can be more creative... Raising the level cap to 120 would be my choice here. As some people already said, I'm not looking forward to more addiction for something that makes no sense.

I am, though, looking forward to the level cap being raised and adding more equipment.

Voting against prestige for two reasons:
1 - Current experience over level 99 isn't counted in the prestige system.
2 - The prestige system will become the primary hiscores table.

If either is changed then I would almost certainly vote yes. I don't want the extra experience I've already worked for to go to waste. However, this is a very light "no" vote - it doesn't really matter all that much to me either way. No tears will be shed if it passes.

I would also fully support level 120 skills, so long as those extra 21 levels bring meaningful content (particularly for combat skills - I don't want the level cap to be raised without the release of any new bosses, as all of the current ones would become even more of a joke, imagine that.)

Tell me about your 10 yrs. I will raise you 4 more. Only I choose to level the skills that I like. I could have had 200m xp in wc and thieving many times over. After all, I know someone who managed to get to 200m thieving xp in 2 months, yes you heard that right, 2 months. The xp rates in the game today are so laughably high, you really think that getting half those skills to 200mxp takes that long? Getting 99 wc in rsc takes way longer.

Instead, I have made additional characters and chose to grind up from 1 to 99 instead, because it is much more difficult than hanging around doing pp or cutting crystal trees. In fact, I have 3 accounts that have 99s. There really is no point in getting 200m xp, although with prestige you will still get it anyways, because right now, you will just be another number that did it.

There is absolutely nothing in this game that is remotely difficult anymore. Apparently thousands of people would like the chance to relevel their skills again, it saves us having to make more additional accounts that we will play for a while, get to 99, then forget about. Many maxed characters, including Kingduffy, have expressed that they like this idea.

---

Those gains are made through no-lifing and account sharing, something that is unrealistic to most players.

Let me stop you there. Are you claiming to have been playing runescape for 14 years? Sorry to call your bluff, but runescape has yet to reach its 13th anniversary.

Secondly, you're generaliZing. Not all players with huge amounts of exp account share, as you claim.

Finally, I've made new accounts over the years for various reasons. This is my third. First one was from 2003 and is retired in memory of a very close friend that passed away three years ago. The second one, from 2007, was retired after level three became level 4. This current account is the only one I have any 99s on. I'd love to do it again in Construction. It's my favorite.

Robin Hoo d.

1. Thanks
1. Optional on this matter just means they either choose to continue the race, or drop out. Don't underestimate peer pressure, mind you those maxed people are all grouping together and provoking each other.

2. It's disappointing that you don't understand that resetting skills like crafting means a higher demand for resources. But also DOUBLE the amount of amulets created. In my ten years of playing, I have not used more than three amulets of strength. Prestiging this skill means the market will be flooded with thousands more of these.
A new player who finally managed to get the right crafting level to make them, will see that they're better off selling the rubies than making their own products. They will leave that to the people who pay for their levels.

In short this is UNHEALTHY for any mmo. And this has been an issue since items are easily obtained through G.E. (Mind you I loved pre G.E. but i voted against old school for another very important reason.. )
New players don't feel they have any use, and are looking at everyone around them having all the millions to spend to get their levels. It scares newcomers away, and that's the worst you can do : Repelling the new generations.

I want EVERYONE to be able to play together. If you add a prestige system that demands PRODUCTS , not RESOURCES from newcomers, they will be motivated to make this for the higher levels. It gives them at low levels the feeling of accomplishments that they have been lacking for YEARS.

This prestige system idea will only worsen this feeling of negligence, and this is also the reason why most of the areas on runescape are empty and WILL STAY EMPTY.

Things that DID the trick of combining new and old people :
Agility courses + high level extension
Summoning (iron platebodies will actually be bought)
Herblore (from mid to high level)

Prestige won't do anything with this.

3. In the end everyone ends up at all 99. I prefer prestige , like you, to go past that.

Its a game Nattie, what does it matter if someone gets 200mill xp in 2 months, do you not just enjoy playing? for fun?

uwotm8. I don't think you've read anything Ive said tbh. Not mentioned anything about 'fun' or 'gains in 2months'

If I didn't enjoy playing I'd go elsewhere. I play for friends mostly. But I know that this update simply isn't a good idea, not in its current form or anything near it.

Lemme explain why 120 will never happen and why it's bad for the game.

COMBAT is a verry big problem! People with a life won't have a chance to pk, all systems would be unbalanced we need a new combat formula new wildy levels and much new dungeons weapons armour but it won't be fair for normal players cuz leveling to 120 is just sick and sick much work!
