My understanding was that the 200 mil xp cap was not a choice of Jagex's, but rather a limitation because of the coding. Like the limitation on items in a stack. It's not something that can be changed without a complete rewrite of everything from scratch.

Voting against prestige for two reasons:
1 - Current experience over level 99 isn't counted in the prestige system.
2 - The prestige system will become the primary hiscores table.

If either is changed then I would almost certainly vote yes. I don't want the extra experience I've already worked for to go to waste.

I would also fully support level 120 skills, so long as those extra 21 levels bring meaningful content (particularly for combat skills - I don't want the level cap to be raised without the release of any new bosses, as all of the current ones would become even more of a joke, imagine that.)

Very well said.

@1:
Why should something completely separate be grandfathered in for absolutely no reason? It'd be like giving you a 99 in the next skill to be introduced because you have 200m in Div, or anything else.

Not to mention that people who went to train other skills once they hit 99 because they don't care about rank, suffer because they didn't keep on training what they like and therefore don't get dozens/potentially hundreds of free Prestige levels.

You guys talk about wanting things to fair, yet you don't want level playing fields?

@2:
It will? How so, when only people who Prestige enter into it? I don't see anything about them "hiding" away the current hiscores just because of Prestige, and so what if someone focuses on it instead? Some people focus on doing drugs, does that mean if you don't you're less of a person? Not even close.

And 120 skills have their own problems- one I see Prestige skills addressing by the very issue you raise in your first complaint: Not grandfathering things in.

What use is new content if people are already 40 levels beyond it? Imagine if drygore had been released at the same time as 95, 99, etc to, 120 tiers and skills. It'd have instantly been completely obsolete to everyone with 95-120 attack.

The beauty of prestige is that nothing becomes truly obsolete. And, as I pointed out in response to Ave Brassica's suggestions, that applies doubly so to any new content introduced to better leveling or for end-game purposes.

No, the rsc beta started in 1999. Why do you think the beginning year for jagex's copyright is 1999?

I encourage you to do some research. Deviousmud was 1999 and was never released. Runescape, now called classic, was released to the public in 2001.

Officially released you mean. As a complete game. Its cute that you are trying to tell me that something that I personally lived is wrong lol. I can get an old of friend of mine, who also played back then, to come post about how wrong you are as well. But then, if you don't believe me about the copyright, which you need to have something released that someone can copy in the first place, I feel sad for you. After all, you probably weren't born yet at that point huh

Robin Hoo D and Smurffaholic. I think my aswer both answers your questions and statements.

Don't confuse products with resources. it's a beginners mistake.

they're one in the same. you don't get products without having resources. you should google it. might learn something. (not trying to be rude, sorry if I sound that way)

How is having excessive wealth just sitting in a bank better than a new player being able to make some money from their hard work? And not just new players. Old players who decide to prestige will have a chance to either buy resources others have collected and sell resources if they decide to gather them themselves...

Stay on topic please,

Smurfie, I doubt you have played for a long time. And isn't it to you more fun that someone would actually use your dragonhide bodies, rather than alching them?
Problem with amulets is that they aren't even worth alching, and like a LOT of items like even dragon square shields, you see no one uses them for anything anymore.

By inserting this prestige system you only flood the market with these redundant items.
I prefer to see high levels actually NEEDING those amulets for their own goals, rather than adding them to the 23423432423432 redundant ones.

I was alive and well back then. Runescape wasn't released to the public until 2001. Jagex holds the copyright based on when they began work on the gameand/or established themselves as a company, not when it was actually released. Go have a look at the copyright dates they have elsewhere.

I have a 10 year cape as well, so stop tryin to feed me your holier-than-thou veteran bs. I've got enough of it already.
