Hey everyone! I haven't played RuneScape for about 10 years, and I've just gotten back into the game a few days ago. I've seen a lot of players "splashing" and wondering if that's allowed now? I remember when I used to play, Jaggex banned splashers and AFK trainers extremely heavily so anyone smart wouldn't do it But now it seems like you can do it? Just wondering what changed.

Also, I've seen a lot of people "semi-AFK" training at the Stronghold of security. Where you only have to interact with your screen every couple minutes or so and still be fighting monsters. So basically, I'm just wondering if I should still report these players like we used to 10 years ago or if all this is "legal" now and you can AFK train. Again, I haven't played for a very long time so it's a bit new to me again haha I'd appreciate an input.
Thank you.

The automatic logout system forces you to logout even in combat if there has been zero interaction from the player for 5 minutes. So if they're staying logged in longer than that with no input they're circumventing the auto logout which would still fall under the macroing rule.

Those people that are actually at the computer but clicking every so often due to the monsters being aggressive don't need to be reported. However if you do, if they aren't breaking any rules nothing will happen the report will just get tossed out.

Some might be using agro potions to keep the monsters agressive as they usually accept the player after like 10 minutes. Low input doesn't necessarily mean AFK with tricks to prevent logging out. Creator of the quarterly M.U.P.A.Q. and I.B.A.T.A.W.A.T. AwardsÖ and writer of the

Auto splashes weren't banned back in the day anyway.

There were loads of low level hp mages with iban staff. Even before that there were low hp mages. They splashed.

Best splashing was confusion in Jed cave fight... ya kill the first few, on round 4 or 5 ya splash...
Skillet? Skill no.

So much moot.

I still see to this day people "splashing" on RS3 and OSRS. As long as you're not using any third party software's that go against the rules you should be fine. But there are other great ways to get your combat skills up now a days. Runescape 4 Lyfe! ^_^

Most people are probably too new/young to appreciate that the OP is pointing to when macros/bots would be used to cast vuln or curse on spiders or similar creatures for constant magic XP, and NOT discussing that the spell simply 'splashed'.

^ This is a legit rsc account . I think it's 17+ yrs old...

But good point. I don't appreciate OPs post. That's why I told him he's wrong. No where did OP say anything about macroing/botting. He said do afkers get banned... Simple answer is No.

No need to get upset. I didn't point to anyone within this thread as giving poor information, I just clarified what he may of been discussing.

Offense is not the best form of defence.
