I said this in the stickied thread, but it bears repeating; if this event returns down the line, it's going to need reworking for exactly this reason.

What I propose is that next time, it's a tournament bracket format with sixteen "participants" (8 F2P, 8 P2P), where four skills (two F2P and two P2P) are available for two separate "duels" each day, and the winners of each move onto the next round, with the last F2P and P2P skills left standing have a 1-on-1 in the Grand Finals (also, skills wouldn't carry over their progress between rounds, and no skills that go up to 120 are allowed, ie. no Invention, Dungeoneering, or Slayer because, let's be honest, they'd win just because more people need that XP)

Is it a bad thing if they did?

Of course not. No where in the Event screen (F5, Community) did it say the skill-off was a fair event.

[it works out for me. Dung has won, and is the only skill for the next two days, that can use tokens for more xp. I don't do dung, thus I have two free-days]. It was an ok event, but the event is over in my mind.

Actually there are two options, voting on Dungeoneering and not voting at all. I can imagine that this is what democracy in Russia feels like.

Sounds like Northern Ireland too.

But skills that go to 99 are allowed? What's the difference? That's pretty much screwing everyone who's got all 99s out of focusing on what they've got left but only allowing those who don't have 99s to do exactly the same thing and don't act like everyone didn't do this event for the exp because that's precisely why people done it.

Pretty interesting observation, f2p probably should of been excluded from voting.

But can't really complain, would of preferred agility on my main, but I'll just continue dging on my alt. Win-win for me anyways

Dungeoneering was winning since day 1. There was never any competition from 3 hours into the event.

Yes, thank you. That's my point. Since FTP could only vote for three of the six skills, and agility was not one of them. So who was doing all the agility? Who was doing the Dung?

The difference is that those three skills are the only ones that have a wildly different XP curve and as such are clearly going to win. It's no mystery why Dungeoneering steamrolled its way to 1st place here, even before the other 2 F2P skills were eliminated-- there's an almost 90 million XP difference (or 8 times the XP requirement) of where training it no longer has any material benefit compared to any other but Slayer or Invention (which "only" has a 67 million/slightly over 6 times increase)

If there's going to be any pretense of competition, until every/the majority of skills have benefits of going beyond 99, only skills that cap out at 99 should be allowed to participate. We've already seen the outcome when that's not the case.

The most tedious skills are always going to win. The only skills that would ever be competition to Dungeoneering are Slayer, Invention and Agility to a lesser extent.

In the current form, there is no way to really guarantee competition between all skills involved.
Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos!
