This post is not about the ridiculous methodology of big game hunter, nor is it about core game engine issues (movement paths etc), but instead its about small tweaks that could have a big impact on the activity.

CAMERA
when you kill or maim a dino, after the cutscene, you are always facing away from the center.
which means you have to either change your camera angle or click on the mini-map to get to the carcass. this should be changed so that you are facing the center. After all, who wouldn't watch their hard work killing a beast?

FROGS
1. clickable area is too small. Years ago they fixed butterflies and gargoyles clickable area.
Jagex should do the same for poison frogs.

2. When you have one color spear there is no point in having "make x" interface when arming scorpion. Its especially frustrating when you have double or triple encounters
I know you can hold down the space bar when clicking to arm, but still, that is an unnecessary step and should be eliminated.


CHAT
Many players use "always on mode: ON" to ease chatting in fc, cc and public. OFF is to facilitate usage of hotkeys, requiring "enter" to chat. In bgh, when you get a cutscene, your automatically put into a "off" condition, similar to opening your bank. There is no reason for this, since your not using any hotkeys during or immediately following a kill. It causes a lot of chat frustration; typing to a friend in cc/fc and not actually sending a message. For players who habitually use the "off" mode, this isn't an issue, since they normally hit enter prior to sending a message. This should be changed to reflect the chat options selected.

ENCOUNTER END
when dinos go into hiding after killing 5-7 of them, the encounter is effectively over. But you still have to go and right click the pad to "leave". This should be changed so that after you skin the carcass of the last possible dino, all logs, vines and spears should be removed from your inventory and the encounter instance ended.

There is another huge pain in the butt bug.

If you go into the crafting menu and the detection circle hits you, it ejects you out of the crafting menu. Its SO annoying and makes 3 dino encounters all the more infuriating.

It wasn't always like that. something changed during one of the updates a few months ago and it has YET to be fixed.

that was my intention, though not fully expressed. If you hold down the space bar when clicking to arm the scorpion it will overcome the detection circle most of the time. But its still a dumb thing. The detection circle doesn't interrupt building the scorpion, nor should it interrupt arming it.

I would go further and say that the camera is for the character only, Jagex should not touch it EVER. Why does it rotate when I tele to Marcus, why does it rotate when I tele to the top floor of the slayer tower, to Laniakea, the max guild, to Priff with a crystal, to the Priff lodestone, to Guthix's shrine, to the polypore dung, etc. Why why why why??????

All it does is slow down the game and it makes no sense whatsoever.

1 --- my biggest bug fix that I think should be done is the surge or double surge , whenever I hit surge there is a lag , my guy will run 3 or 4 steps before surging , I have been caught so many times because of this .

2 ---- is the 2 second extra before the dino catches you seems messed up since they did the so called fix last time the circle turns red & then bam I'm kicked out caught

Camera issue: This is a system problem which has been around for many years now. When it first arose Jagex said it was the only way to fix another, more serious issue. I don't think this will be a quick and easy fix unfortunately.

Frogs: I find they're very easy to click, but I understand your point of view. My only worry is that the click area becomes too big, allowing for more mis-clicks to occur.

Spears: I understand why you'd want it to be automatic if you only have 1 spear type in your inventory, but there may be occasions where you've made too many of one colour in your testing round, and end up applying the incorrect colour to the traps in your next round. Niche situation, but probably more annoying than it is currently. If you want to get around keeping hold of space bar, just right click the scorpion and select colour from there.

Chat: Again, this is an old system issue which came about with EOC. I agree it needs fixing, but I think this would need a complete overhaul rather than little tweaks.

Encounter end: I agree with this. Although I'm not sure what would happen if you didn't have enough inventory space and items dropped on the ground. Would they be lost as you've now left the instance?

Crafting menu: I agree. Minor annoyance, but annoying nonetheless.


By biggest gripe:

Leave is right next to Quick-Start on the pedestal. This needs moving.

That's how it's supposed to work. Previously, it would go from green to yellow to orange to red (over 6 seconds or 10 ticks) and then add the Hunter Lodge Tier 2 perk (+2.4 seconds or 4 ticks), meaning that the detection circle is red for an extra 4 ticks.

The change applied was just to make the colours switch more uniform, rather than the circle being red for an additional 4 ticks. I'm guessing they added an extra tick to each colour of green, yellow, orange, red, so it seems similar without the Hunter Lodge Tier 2 perk, but is still an extra 4 ticks before you get caught.

So many times yes!

Point 2 & post 2 some up my major frustrations at things that should NOT be part of a 'bossing encounter'.

Also to offer a solution along with the criticism, simply make it arm using the first spear in your inventory. This also eliminates all the bugs where it kicks you out of the make-x interface if the dino circles touch you.

Nobody is carrying around so many 'bad' spears (spears that they don't want to use) that creating an entire make-x interface to distinguish between them and even kicking you out of it constantly is the preferred quality of life measure.


TO DRASTICALLY IMPROVE THE PLAYABILITY, REMOVE THE MAKE-X INTERFACE ENTIRELY, USE THE FIRST SPEAR IN YOUR INVENTORY WHEN ARMING.

On the chat issue, it must be a simple coding error. When you get any interface pop up, like opening bank, a dialog box with npc, or in an activity like posing on serenity posts, your chat goes to "off"-press enter to talk, but when you close your bank, npc dialog or hop off the serenity posts, or end whatever, your chat reverts to "always on-on" the way it should work.
at bgh, it doesn't revert like everywhere else in game.
