Hey there fellow players, I hope this gets looked at. I am somewhat disappointed that people are locked out unless they live in the UK from completing the information for visiting Jagex HQ in September with the additional “secret” plans they have upcoming. I believe this should be looked at, and that anyone with the ability to get tickets to HQ and to test out updates should be allowed to submit the form. I was completing the application and it would only accept a UK phone number to come out and test gameplay.

This is yet another example of Jagex not monitoring that this game is for the players! If they really want player input they would allow players from all the many different countries that play the game come out and test development and help improve the overall content within the game. Roll-outs have come without thought and development at times and that overall lack of communication within HQ has directly been related to P2P content. Jagex can start by fully eliminating p2w content and directly looking to improve methods within the game to stabilize player base. I would like to submit the form to go out to HQ and test the secret plans mentioned in the posts and yes I do fully read updates when they get released, please for the sake of all the players enable anyone with the means to go out to HQ apply and not just Britain phone numbers or people who live in England.

JaGex have conducted player surveys in other countries - only a few months ago, Mod Searcher travelled to New York City to host workshops. They've also hosted them in San Francisco for OSRS and RS3.

JaGex HQ visits aren't usually limited to players from the UK - many people have visited over the years. I suspect that this decision potentially has more to do with targeting specific demographics and the travel expenses associated with the visit - which you would have to pay for.

Please help me understand how that post doesn’t blare out that the understanding is that the feedback is directed towards everyone! It is misleading if then when filling out an application that it limits the amount to people to a specific region or area by only allowing a British phone number.... That is the opposite of wanting “your feedback on it”. Complete misdirection if they wanted my own opinion that I wouldn’t be filling something out if I worked say in Spain and then going through the application says that I have to live in France.... It is the SAME CONCEPT!! Anyone with common sense knows that..... Be specific is what I am meaning Jagex and not just throw something out in the updates that the player community which is in the USA, in Spain, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, South America and across several continents can see.

I do feel your pain. The trouble is, forum posts are all about generating soundbites rather than providing you with credible and accurate information. Yes, the post itself does provide you with a lot of information, but reads like it's open to all and it negates to mention that it's UK only.

Jmods replying to threads on the forums is rarer than hen's teeth, so if you want an answer, maybe consider reaching out to @jagexsearcher on twitter or email an enquiry to research@jagex.com - the email they use for these events.

Mhm. In what will probably amount to a vain attempt to educate people about this:

Britain = England, Wales and Scotland (OP should’ve said British instead)
England = one country in Britain (should be pretty obvious but you’d be surprised)

UK = England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Same way aye (a way of saying yes) =/= ayy

To me this goes into how the company as a whole wants to push the ideology and the notion that the game is for the players, however if it is truly for all the players that they would honestly create new ideas to involve the players and specifically have players help design new content and not push out their own new content without having feedback, play through, and implementation by the players themselves.

What do I mean by this: Players create the game idea, then the thought process behind the idea is designed by the players from concept art to game detail to improvement within the game, access to tools that Jagex uses and then a deadline for players to submit new ideas and also finish project by the company. They could outsource some of the working projects directly to players who are in the game who hear from the players themselves who are playing the game with them. Players create polls and suggestion, design and animation that can alleviate Jmods from larger projects that players frequently would like do say a player works on boss mechanics or fixes the areas of the mini map within the game while the developers are creating and getting right a new boss, a new quest series, a new playable mini game that focuses on the whole of gielinor

. It is completely practical and that our voice gets heard and that the game is helped made and sustained by the ones who play it. I mean we do pay for the service itself, wouldn’t we like to see it be maintained correctly ourselves too and for the game to continue to expand than be stagnant and only go towards the direction it is going and has been going. Work could be divided amongst players and then area specific or even like delegates to different areas that Jagex HQ could rely on additional help! I mean come on a large scale quest line like Sliske’s Endgame we haven’t had since 2016/2017 it has been years!!!! And it helped further move the storyline along of the game

I got a invite few month ago, first I thought it was a fake email but the code matched the inbox message. I did not apply to go (even ifs its only a hours drive) but I know you have to sign a NDA and maybe people from other countries are not bound by them who knows. I know in the past people from other Countries have been offered a tour but the never turn up because of getting time off/ hotels/ and travel costs but people from UK are more likely to.

I doubt it will be much different from trying out new content at runefest so its not like you cant go there. Maybe have the workshop open to people outside UK who have been to runefest in the past?

ps If they offered lunch with mod purpur I would have gone :)
