"5. PRETEENS AND USERS UNDER 18
Some Jagex Products may have age restrictions which prevent users under 13 creating an account. If a Jagex Product is not subject to age restrictions, a user under 13 may create an account. However, they must get consent from their parents/guardians to use the Jagex Product in accordance with our terms and conditions and privacy policy.
We may Stop any account if we are not satisfied that such consent has been given or that such consent does not comply with local laws regarding users who are under 13 years of age.
"

Jagex can stop anybody's account if they are not satisfied with any player's compliance to their age restriction.

And this - is exactly the support one would hope that the words 'parent' 'minor' 'under 13' or the like would trigger the Facebook Companion to launch, not 'I'm sorry I do not have any information for you about that."

I've been the recipient of cyber abuse in various forms. Block, delete, ignore all work to an extent, but once your child releases their rl name, their school, or their home address or phone number, it's hard to just end it by adding someone to an online game's chat filter - which is why Jagex would place limits on those account - to prevent it from happening.

Do you know there are parental controls tool from all kinds of social media, Windows, Google, Apple, etc?

Cyber Bullying can come from numerous ways, not just from playing Runescape or OSRS. I'll advise you to spend some time to set up parental controls on your kids' computers. That will also shield them from not just bullying but other sites not suitable for kids.

Again, your hypothetical worries of cyber bullying doesn't only come from Facebook Companion. It can come from Twitch, Google, Apple among other platforms too. Jagex already have their terms and conditions clearly written. It is you, the parents', responsibilities, to give or remove consent to your 13 or under kids to all Jagex games, including to not limited to the ones connected through Facebook Companion. You should also realize Jagex has the rights to do anything to your kids' accounts if they fail to provide a satisfactory response to Jagex's age restrictions.

Hope that helps. :)

I wouldn't be arguing semantics of legal documents if you hadn't brought them up as an excuse for "The information is there, you just haven't read it".

There is literally nothing of use in that paragraph you quoted me, a paragraph which most people will have not read, despite what you claim.

Of course your entire posts are useless to this topic - Facebook Companion.

Your sole argument is you don't argue with Jagex's Terms and Conditions and EULA are the legal bindings between the company and us players. However, regardless your legally meaningless disagreement, it is still the same Terms and Conditions and EULA applicable to ALL Jagex games accessed from ALL platforms.

You simply failed to tell us what your disagreement to Jagex's Terms and Conditions and EULA has anything specifically to do with Facebook Companions, but not Twitch Connect, Steam, Google, Apple, etc.

what is a facebook companion and how is this a recent update

Official Jagex announcement on Facebook Companion:

New Facebook Companion
We’re happy to announce that our Facebook fans can now enjoy a whole new RuneScape experience: the RS Companion! Whether you want to prepare for the Land Out of Time with some quick info, explore helpful Guides displayed in the Grand Library, never miss future announcements around RS Mobile or RuneFest 2019, grab exclusive Membership offers (even free stuff!) or need Support, the RuneScape Companion has your back!

Talk with the RuneScape Companion

The RuneScape Companion is still young and we want to make it the best experience possible with your help! Don’t hesitate to share your feedback on Facebook and other channels.

It is a new Jagex product out just a couple of days ago, but not a new content.

Considering this is the only thread on the entire forums about the facebook companion, I doubt the recent game updates forum is a one of the proper channels to share feedback on a facebook feature.
Don't forget – RuneScape members get TWO free spins a day instead of the usual one!

Dilbert, all I can assume right now is you do not know what the Facebook companion is.

OP has a simple request, improve the database around this one topic.

I'm going to step back from this arguement because I cannot for the life of me determine why you are criticising this one request as much as you are, I can only assume at this point you do not understand what the request is and we're wasting both our time here.

@MIU

The Facebook Companion is a Jagex Chat Bot that integrates through Facebook you can ask questions, such as, "How do I recover my account", to get answers to problems you have about the game.

All OP wants is to extend some of its knowledge so it can give answers around parental controls and such. This bot has only come out in the past week

Read my reply to Miu. Jagex clearly outlined Facebook Companion's guides, information as well as new features to be announced in Runefest. It is obviously not just a "chat bot" especially when they already have their own extensive Player Support website for the kinds of questions you mentioned.

Not my question and not for me to answer regarding if and where this thread should be.

I just want to point out Facebook Companion is not just a "chat bot" or another lesser "player support" tool than the fully established Jagex Player Support System. It is more about improvements to players' in game experience like guides, info and more to come.

You want player support info, including but not limited to, age restrictions, account help, parental info, etc? You don't go to Facebook Companion. I think Jagex want these kinds of question going to their official Player Support System on their own official website.
