I'll be ready for my 20-year cape in 2024.

If it's not an EPIC cape, I shall be disappointed.

I do quite like the 15-year cape.

No one who has been around since the beginning will be eligible for a 20 year cape until 2025/2026 (assuming I'm accounting for the right years). There's literally no point in anyone even thinking about such a cape because no one is remotely close to getting one even if they did exist.

That would be a cool idea, I've got the 15 year cape. I believe the 20 year cape for this character is nearing sometime in late 2021

I wonder what the cape will look like when it does come out, as well as the emote.

Interested to see what comes out of this

That doesn't sound right as it would mean you created that account in 2001 when only RSC existed, I don't think that's true because all RSC accounts no longer exist along with RSC and I'm almost certain that the veteran capes are based on the time that RS2 was created - not how long the game Runescape has existed.

Assuming it was 2013 that it was created, OS doesn't even have a 10 year veteran cape because it's not even 10 years old and the only veteran cape people can get in that version is the 5 year cape. So I'm 99.9% certain veteran capes are based off the age of the respective version of the game, not the total years Runescape has been around.

I was about a year or so off in my previous post, those who've been playing since RS2 existed which is 2004 will only be eligible for a 20 year cape in 2024/2025, there's years to go still before even we can get them. For those who started playing later than that? You might have to wait until closer to 2030 or later.

February of 2002 is when Jagex began tracking the age of RS accounts. For the purposes of veteran capes, any account older than that is treated as if it had been created in February of 2002. Therefore, the absolute earliest date any account will be able to claim a 20-year cape will be February 2022. That's 17 months from now.

Of course, this also presumes Jagex will have such a cape available by then. :P

That's definitely a lot closer and sooner than I thought it was, I've no idea why I thought it was tied to the creation of RS2 - maybe I confused it with the account profile and when that was introduced (whenever that was).

Unfortunately for me, as this is technically my third account (RSC one no longer exists), it won't be until 2025 for me haha.

I believe you are correct, in a way.

Although Feb. 2002 is the date from which Jagex tracks the age of RS accounts (unless they have a later creation date), I'm pretty sure they didn't actively keep track of how old our accounts are until RS2 came along in 2004. So those accounts from Feb. 2002 to early 2004 were grandfathered in.

your math is way off. since 15 year cape came out february 2017(15 years after they could keep track of when accounts were made) the 20 year cape will come out february 2022. im pretty sure they based it off when membership was first created in game so accounts older than that have a "creation date" of February 2002, such as mine.
