We always have "that item" we take for combat of any occasion due to unlimited use, whether its the Excailber, Ancient Elven Ritual Shard, or the Dominion Marker. With sigils worked into abilities with cooldowns, wouldn't' it be much easier to just make those items abilities?


Example: Through invention you can turn an Excaliber into a "Scream For Camelot!" Codex that unlocks the ability to heal 20% of your LPs over 20s with a 5 minute cooldown, with the duration and healing doubled if you unlocked the Enhanced Excaliber. Cooldown is shared with other healing abilities like the Excaliber.

For the Ancient Elven Ritual Shard, it could be turned into an ability called "Dark Ritual" with the same effect, however cannot be used in the Wilderness as the Ritual Shard is highly risky to bring to the Wilderness and the codex removes that risk.

The Dominion Marker grants a hefty buff, can be taken anywhere, and reclaimed for free. The codex can be bought from the Dominion Tower after defeating 1K bosses and all boss sets. Once unlocked, every 5 minutes you can gain a decaying combat stat boost 2 levels less than deploying your Dominion Marker, so its not end-game material but useful for slayer or casual PvM.

Whats really so bad about having items?

Also you do know EE is also a weapon right?

So how could a weapon be made into an ability?

I'm only referring to free to re-use items with a cooldown, much like the original sigils.

Why do we have a toolbelt? What's wrong with just keeping all those tools in our inventory?


I'm aware Enhanced Excabiler is a weapon, but its primary used for its activated healing ability. The codex turns the weapon's activated effect into an ability, it doesn't turn the weapon itself into an ability.

I mean I for one like using the items for my own personal reasons.

No, it doesn't replace those items, it just gives the option to turn the item's activation effect into an ability so the item isn't required if you just want the ability.

The reason I suggested the Dark Ritual ability being unusable in the Wilderness is the fact the item counterpart Ancient Ritual Shard is highly valuable (10M atm).

When turned into an ability, you can benefit from the Ritual Shard without risking losing it, as opposed to bringing the Ritual Shard into the wilderness and risking 10M.


Bringing an Enhanced Excabiler or Dominion Marker poses little to no risk in the Wilderness as they can be replaced for next to nothing, hence their abilities being free to use in the Wilderness.

My problem with excalibur is that it invalidated all healing ultimates at the cost of being an item - a minor downside of it, but a downside no matter the less. I think to be able to convert it outright into an ability should come as a reward from something. Since you're getting enhanced excalibur from the hard seers tasks, elite enhanced from elite it could be something like a master tier task list or so.

The dominion marker ability as is sounds great, since you need to earn it on top of your tier 4 marker. Maybe something like this also could be done for the elven shard - with the wilderness restriction being removed.
