I've been seeing player count over 100k fairly often.

It's 12pm GMT on a thursday and player count is about 60k. So yeh I don't think they have much problems with the active user base to warrant making the entire game f2p.

It's hardly a dying game, it's been pretty consistent as far as the active player base goes.

07 alone has had an increase in population simply due to the mobile version, and if the rs3 version is actually ever released in completion, then the player base for rs3 will also likely rise.

as a source im using the website misplaced items.
the active player count has been stable, but the actie player count has been going up and down, comparable to 2016 and our max player count was 2015.
I believe if you make rs3 f2p, or even additional f2p content that can be taken from members that could add an additional new player count , potentiallly new people could pay for MTX. making new money from new people.

The big question is does Jagex need more money? They are swimming in it as is and the game gets shit dead content and bs filler in-between all the MTX bs. I once again can't stress enough you need to remove MTX completely because it does not only devalue certain aspects of the game but most importantly sets bad incentives for the developers (e.g. trying to fuck over the customer as much as possible) whereas if someone remembers RS was one of the games with extremely prosumer attitudes out there, we have done a complete 180 in this regard, very sad and shameful. R.I.P. rs3 2019.

Depending on how you look at it, RS has been F2P for quite a while now with bonds. It encourages players to work towards a bond in-game and offers others a quick way to gain wealth by purchasing a bond with real-world money.

Money in the bank =/= a valuation multiple of company you own.
And no, In a strictly practical sense Jagex at this point doesn't need more money.
R.I.P. rs3 2019.

of course they do

more money = more employees = more content = better game / more content / higher quality content / better customer service etc etc etc

With all this money they have now RS3 is in the worst state I have ever seen. Where are weekly updates? It adds a sense of dynamism to the game a sense of ever moving forwards now its just stalescapeTM.
R.I.P. rs3 2019.

you are ignoring what im saying.

more money = better content. higher quality updates. so if thats what you want. then yes they need more money....

it amused me people who lack understanding on how games work on updates etc are the loudest to complain. infact it happens everywhere. the ones who complain about any industry or a company know little about how it works. which is why the expectations are too high and just get well like you...

as you said with alll the money jagex have now and this is what they give us. wouldnt it better if they have more money to do better???

surely that would be better no? or do you struggle to understand that also
