From the Rules and Guidelines sticky on top of the Rant forum:

"If your feedback IS constructive, then the correct forums to use are all in the Feedback, Discussion & Suggestions section."

This Rant forum is for people to "rant" as its name suggests not necessarily in a constructive way, and therefore not to be taken seriously by Jmods who focus on giving constructuve solutions.

No need to further divide Rant into RS3 or OSRS Rant, or else, we will also need RS3/General Rant, RS3/Suggestion Rant, RS3/Future Update Rant, etc, and their OSRS sub-rant counterparts.
Lol. That's the silliest "argument" I've seen presented so far. It doesn't even make sense.

So we're left with your only logical argument being that rants don't change anything? Well in that case we better shut the forum down and only use reddit.

You can't even rant in reddit. Your rants there will be downvoted to oblivion, if not outright deleted.

Rant exists in these RSOF only because their moderation is more tolerating than their social media counterparts.

The point.

Your head.

Anyway, what you've said is incorrect lol. Perhaps if you rant is baseless and a result of your own failings, what you described may happen. Otherwise? Nah.
Only rancid, vile creatures call others rancid, vile creatures!
Linking to threads that already answer a question is flaming/off-topic.
Quoting other comments is against the rules and will see your post hidden.

Putting empty comments and trying to deflect the topic to another person won't get you anywhere. I already told you the Rules and Guidelines of the Rant forum. It is posted by a Jmod. Agree or not? It is your choice, or do we really need a Jmod to look at all these polls?

Thanks for your cooperation and please make constructive comments because this forum is not Rant.

No empty comment was "put". I was illustrating the point going over your head. Apparently this also went over your head.

I was simply countering (destroying) your argument. If your new counterargument is "because a J Mod said so and because this is how it is today" then I have nothing left to say other than change isn't always a bad thing and that just because something is in a current state doesn't mean it must always remain that way (kind of weird to have to spell that out for someone, but I guess the rsof is filled with people of all ages...). Thank you for trying.

Jagex said Rant is not for constructive feedback. Constructive feedback should go to the regular Feedback forums. This is nothing new and nothing even to argue with.

Why should Jagex care to make changes based on unconstructive comments? They don't and should not. The Rant forum is like tree hole for people to shout their unconstrutive comments into. It doesn't need a RS3 tree hole and another OSRS tree hole because they are both for unconstructive rants.

Rants Rules

Rants Guide

Welcome to the Rants Forum.

What is the Rants Forum for?

The Rants Forum is the place to provide us with feedback about anything related to Jagex or RuneScape where your feedback does not fit within an existing forum. Typically this may be where you wish to voice a concern (vent) but may not have fully constructed suggestions and solutions to the issue you wish to raise.

While we prefer all feedback to be constructive and balanced, the Rants forum does allow a certain amount of non-constructive and negative elements.

Please be aware that this forum is not a primary source of feedback for us, so if you have a suggestion it is far more likely to be seen in a regular suggestion forum.

We would kindly request that all Rants forum users read the sticky thread at the top of the forum which outlines the purpose of the forum and what is and is not acceptable within the forum.

According to the rants forum specific rules, a certain minimum level of constructiveness is required, but not as much as on the rest of the forums.

Rants is separated from suggestions in two ways:
1. Rants is more lenient in level of constructiveness.
2. Rants threads do not require a solution to the problem. They are problem-focused threads, while ideally suggestions forums are solution-focused or contribute to the game.

Now that you know what the rants forum is, you can stop derailing about it and now discuss whether OSRS has merits for its own rants forum. Thanks.

Jagex clearly stated The Rants Forum is the place for feedback not belong in existing forums. They also added Rant is not a primary source of feedback for them.

Obviously, they told us to use the regular feedback forums for anything meaningful, and hence there is no merit to spend precious development time to make 9000 more sub-rant forums.

Even if rants threads were meaningless (they're not), adding an OSRS rants forum would actually help developers find the more "meaningful" feedback in the relevant forums, by giving OSRS rants a clear place to go.

Secondly, your claim that it takes dev time to make a forum is nonsensical. Jagex recently popped up the patch notes forum out of nowhere, as well as a skilling cup forum. If you believe that opening up a little forum requires a hefty amount of dev time, you are vastly underestimating Jagex's skills. Please don't insult their intelligence with such absurd claims.

Nope. The Rant forum is not a waste bin. It is more like a tree hole for those who don't get what they try to say accepted by other people, e.g. the Authorities.

When your post get moved to Rant, it only means your post is not constructive and doesn't belong in any Feedback forums.

well i have a constructive thread that was moved there so i disagree

Im pretty sure they already do by reading the relevant threads.

Thus no need for yet another dead forum.
